I stopped by here for dinner with a friend and it was super yummy! We were seated right away but our server wasn't consistent in checking in on us. They weren't super busy but we did go a couple of months into them being open. We ordered an appetizer to share and each our own ramen which were packed with flavor and portion was great! I've ordered Togo from here a couple of times and all have been great.

Black Garlic Tonkatsu Ramen

I recently moved from NYC, where my favourite ramen spot actually shuttered, and I had been craving ramen. I found Aji Ramen had decent reviews so my mom and I tried it out. We were not disappointed. I ordered the black garlic tonkatsu and my mom went with the gyu don. Both were so flavourful. The service was quick and attentive. They were playing gaming tournaments on the television at the sushi bar which made for a fun ambiance.

Custom roll: California roll with salmon on top, spicy mayo and thinly sliced lemon on top was incredible!

My wife regularly comes to Aji Ramen and suggested we come in for a light appetizer before dinner last Friday. We ordered some unfiltered sake and her favorite custom sushi roll, which is a California roll with salmon on top, spicy mayo and thinly sliced lemon. Paired with their Japanese sauce and soy sauce it was amazing. Seriously might be my new favorite sushi roll and I can't wait to go back again and try more. Aji has very reasonable food and drink prices and friendly service.

Hand roll, be sure to ask for no mayo

Enjoyed a quick dinner at Aji Ramen tonight with my mans. We're seated quickly at 5:30pm on a Friday, they had. A short line as we left. Water and food came out quickly. My man ordered a hand roll and was bummed it wasn't wrapped up and came with lots of spicy mayo that wasn't mentioned on the menu. Onto the good stuff! The ramen was pretty dang good. I got the black garlic (with an extra egg instead of pork) and my man got the curry ramen. Both had great flavor, lots of toppings and a good potion side. I saw two people order the melon soda, so I'll have to try that next time!

Signature Aji Ramen

So so thrilled to see a ramen restaurant in the NE Heights neighborhood. Aji took over the space that once was Budai. They did a nice job renovating the space with ample seating both at the tables and sushi bar. We were greeted and seated immediately. We had enough time to review their menu before ordering. We got the black garlic tonkotsu ramen and signature Aji ramen which was seafood based broth. I was impressed with how flavorful the broth was. I was a little disappointed in the chashu, with it being smaller pieces and a bit dry than what I'm used to. Portions were decent for the price! Black garlic was $15 and Signature Aji was $20. Considering it was their first day, I see a lot of potential in Aji and would definitely come back to try the rest of their menu!

Haven't had ramen is so long and thought of trying this place out! We were seated quickly and the waitress was nice. They have a lot on their menu thats not just ramen. They even offer omakase! I ordered the miso ramen and my friend ordered the Aji ramen. Both were very good. I really liked my broth and the toppings. My friends was also very good. His broth was more light and not as salt but the miso was more flavorful. It wasn't too busy when we went but I bet it gets busy for dinner time. This place is a must try!

My favorite place in Albuquerque! The ramen is fantastic and so is the sushi bar. Service is always fast and friendly. Highly recommend!!

From front to back Firehead Roll, Cowboy Roll, and Lion King Roll

Based on looks and aesthetics, I was impressed with the quality of furniture. Chairs and tables were solid and had a modern sleek design. Menus were not lamented but rather a great matte quality. Service was great, they were polite and speed wise were fast as heck. Bathroom was super clean and even had a baby changing table which is plus for those with families. Ordered a Tonkatsu Ramen. Noodles were soft, slightly chewy, and cooked just right. Broth was light while very flavorful resonating with that beef flavor. We ordered the Cowboy roll, firehead roll and the lion king roll. All three were flavorful, had some heat from the jalapeños, and the different fish definitely made each but unique. Great quality rice and each one definitely had each ingredient that was stated on the menu. Definitely worth the visit and plan on coming back.

Egg rolls were steaming hot and tasty!

Ramen was delicious, the ambiance was authentic Japanese and service was great! They even offer sushi and sashimi, which I will try next time ---this was a good experience.

Tonkatsu Ramen
Sara L.

This was tasty, but a little underwhelming... The Tonkatsu Ramen lacked flavor and as others have mentioned, the termperature was not piping hot. I was okay with that, but if you don't eat quickly, your soup will go cold. The pork was very well-cooked, not dry or tough like other places, and I would be willing to go back and try the version with black garlic cause that would probably add the flavor I was missing. I don't typically eat bamboo shoots, but the ones in the ramen were marinated and delicious! I also prefer chewier noodles. The Tempura Roll was flavorful and better than most in ABQ, but it was cut so wide and thin that it fell apart when we picked the pieces up with chopsticks. I with they would cut them smaller and thicker so you could get all the ingredients in one bite. The knife cuts were excellent though, and like I said, very tasty. My husband didn't love his Yakisoba because it had some curry-type seasoning, which isn't his thing, and a bunch of caramelised onions. I thought it tasted okay, not like yakisoba I'm used to, but tasty. He did say that it was the best cooked chicken he's ever had in a dish like that. The Gyoza had amazing texture and mouth feel, but the filling was a little bland. We'll be back, but it didn't knock us out of the park. I think some small tweaks would make this place dynamite.

New Raman shop in town! Came during lunch time and they were busy. Maybe because it's new, but we got seated fairly quickly. Service was pretty good. We ordered the takoyaki and it was delicious! The katsu was decent because the portion was tiny and it comes with miso soup. The curry was little as well. I probably would not get it again. Rolls were yummy though! The lion roll had shredded pork on top and the shrimp tempura on the inside was huge! The Philadelphia Roll was packed with a good amount of salmon. It was perfect. Not too much rice. The Aji Raman was good. It would've been better if the protein was nice and hot as well as the soup. The flavoring was flavorful. Portion was good, but the protein it was kind of cold. Almost as if it was of course pre-cooked already, but they should still head it was. Broth was good, but needed to be heated up more. Overall, I would come back to try other items on their menu.

Not the best Ramen I've had but I've been to Tokyo. Extremely good I had the Salmon sashimi very fresh nice thick cuts. The gyoza was fine and the black garlic Ramen was really good the pork was succulent. Overall I would recommend this place.

Arrival was remarkably effortless with a convenient parking lot situated right outside. Stepping inside, the layout is wonderfully well-appointed and spotlessly clean. While the space is somewhat intimate in scale, it is adorned with stunning traditional Chinese-style murals that lend a refined, high-end atmosphere to the entire room. The hospitality was top-tier from the moment we arrived attentive, gracious, and extraordinarily welcoming. I began with a chilled iced tea, which provided a clean, refreshing complement to the meal. The menu itself is impressively curated and systematically organized with clean item codes like 'B', G and 'S', making selection an absolute breeze. For my main course, I selected the 'B4' Braised Beef Noodle Soup. When served, the dish proved to be an absolute culinary triumph rich, aromatic, and infused with a perfectly balanced, sophisticated kick of spice that exceeded every expectation. Between the immaculate cleanliness, captivating decor, divine cuisine, and stellar service, this spot earns full marks from me. A thoroughly marvelous venue I shall most certainly be returning

I have visited Tamashi a few times and and just now getting to my review…read more I want to preface this by saying that they should have a five star review, but finish my reading this and you will see why. It is not the biggest restaurant, and is popular, so I would recommend being prepared to wait during "popular busy time" but it is so worth the wait. So I also recommend waiting. The staff is always pretty friendly and accommodating. I shared an app, a roll and an order of salmon sashimi with a friend on both visits. The food is always fresh, and delicious! I never feel like I am being overcharged for what I get either. Going to eat for sushi can feel like that sometimes. The quality of the food is great and everything is always aesthetically pleasing as well. I had their avocado bomb on my last visit and I was delightfully surprised with it. I like avocado in most cases, but sometimes, it can be a lot at one. I thought this was going to be like that when I saw it, but I was wrong. I look forward to getting one of these on my next visit! On my last visit my friend and I saved room for a dessert, one that we saw rotating on their screens that they have in the restaurant showcasing some of the menu items. It was a take on a bananas foster. It looked delicious but alas, we'll see if we can manage to get it next time. Note to self, have dessert first on next visit?

I liked the addition of jalapeños. I've never seen that paired with Japanese curry before. The curry is strangely bland and salty at the same time. It is difficult to explain, but in short, there wasn't much depth to the flavor. The salmon topping on the chef's special roll was a bit overtorched, but it was still pretty good. Located in what was once a working lumber yard dating back to the turn of the 20th century, the striking industrial-yet-modern design brilliantly pays homage to the property's rich history with high ceilings, open structures, and authentic architectural touches. Inside, you'll find choices from more than 25 local vendors -- Vietnamese, Japanese/sushi, Thai, New Mexican, Mediterranean, artisan burgers, salads, sandwiches, fish & chips, local craft beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. There is truly something for every preference and the options can accommodate almost any dietary restriction imaginable. The layout features plenty of comfortable indoor seating, plus a fantastic outdoor space (called "The Yard") that offers extra seating, a lawn area, and a stage for live events. Finding a parking spot in the two off-street lots adjacent to the building can be difficult during peak hours, but with a little patience, you can usually find a spot in one of the lots or on the street.

We found the food hall and honestly didn't know what to expect. However, we were so pleasantly surprised that we ended up coming back TWO days in a row. The concept itself is wonderful. You have so many different food options to select from, which is perfect when you're traveling with people who all want something different. We decided that rather than commit to one place, we would try a little something from several of the restaurants. One thing I want to acknowledge is the pricing. Coming from Colorado, we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonably priced many of the options were, especially considering the quality of the food. I will note that seating was a bit of a challenge on our first night. We believe this may have been due to homecoming, the upper floor being reserved for a private event, and the rainy, cold weather making the outdoor seating less desirable. There were plenty of people enjoying the market, but not nearly enough seating available for everyone at that moment. Now, onto the food! We tried several different restaurants throughout our visits, including Hiro Sushi, Outlaw Chicken, Tulipani, and Flora Taco To Go. Hiro Sushi had an AMAZING spicy tuna roll, and if you've followed my reviews, you know how long we've been searching for one that delivers the perfect flavor. We actually ordered it twice! Outlaw Chicken was another delicious experience. The chicken was flavorful, and the fries and broccolini were cooked to perfection. Tulipani absolutely won us over with their Creamy Lemon pasta. It was so delicious that we ordered it twice and even took some home with us. We also explored Flora Taco To Go, where the carnitas tacos were easily the highlight of what we ordered. Overall, I love the concept of Sawmill Market. It gives you the opportunity to explore several different cuisines, enjoy a little bit of everything, and find some truly delicious food. Despite the seating challenges on our first night, we enjoyed ourselves so much that returning was an easy decision. This is absolutely somewhere I would recommend visiting when you're in Albuquerque!
