We've dined in Founders Square before & always noticed bunches of happy people sitting out on the front patio of Havana Libre. We'd just walk past because we had other plans - never stopped, but were curious. Tonight, we made plans to visit with another couple and it didn't disappoint. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess and LIVE music - a young woman playing an electric violin. just WOW. The decor was spot on along with the music, creating with a fun and inviting VIBE. Perfect for a Saturday night date night with friends. The night was just getting started so there weren't a lot of other diners, yet but that changed quickly. Would definitely recommend making a reservation. Our server was awesome - very helpful with the menu - a mix of Cuban and Peruvian dishes that were delicious. Since we don't get to eat these treats often, we did our homework, checking out the menu beforehand, but we had a ton of questions. We asked for her opinion and recommendations and she described the food in detail and answered all of our requests - thank you! . The drinks and appetizers were yummy and our main dishes were really tasty . The portions were generous, but not too heavy. Try the boozy pineapple a house favorite. The dessert menu was also enticing, but sadly, none of us had any room. Next time.. From beginning to end, we had such a fabulous time. What a fun place with a great atmosphere. Their bar is also open to the people dining outside on the patio. The open air concept just adds to the overall experience. A new local favorite.

To celebrate, my mom and I ordered a bottle of moscato which went well with the food. We ordered the mojellas as an app for the table and they were unfortunately they were not good. There was not enough lemon in the world to help it taste better either. The mojellas tasted like they were boiled and then thrown on the parilla, and left too crunchy. We let the waiter know we couldn't even finish them after everyone had a bite and we agreed they were bad. Luckily the waiter liked them since he told us he ate what we didn't eat, you're welcome for the appetizer we ended up paying for guy! SMH The sizzln Naples menu had a 4 course meal and we were almost jipped our eggplant, I had to tell waiter at the end and he was able to pack it up for us and we took it home. El panqueque de dulce de leche luckily was good, they didn't add chocolate upon request. Husband liked the dulce de leche empanada and the main meals were good. The provoletta and main course meals were good. However, we were shocked when the bill came and the gratuity was included at a 20%... for a party of 4. There was no indication of this beforehand either. So 20% AND we paid for the waiters appetizer. It's a no from me, I don't think I'll be coming back.

My friend who got steak sandwich said he had ordered a Cuban, but I know he mumbled it, and he's also kind of deaf, so when the server repeated what she thought he said (steak), he nodded. His fault. I know he enjoyed his food, though. Personally, I thought it was expensive, it was over $60 for these three sandwiches, no drinks and a side of rice and beans, at lunch, but then I'm not from this area and also am a cheapa$$ so maybe this pricing was fine for Naples. It was a pretty nice place, but the bathroom door frame and door itself could use a good scrubbing. Other than that, it was all pretty good.

The inside plays into the spanish theme in architecture and decor. Once seated, they start you off with a complimentary order of chips and salsa. It was nice they gave us two salsas from the start because only your first serving is complimentary. Know that the salsa was also a true medium. For entrees, I got the Taco Salad (no jalapeños). I could taste that the shell was freshly made and thought the value was great for how many toppings came in the salad. It looked smaller in size but I struggled to finish it all! My aunt got the Choose 3 Mexican Combo with all ground beef tacos. They have both hard shell and soft shell options for tacos and these are served with a side of rice and beans. They were nice to let her get double rice and no beans. My husband tried the Tampiqueña which came with a large skirt steak, cheese enchilada, rice, beans, and some toppings. His portion was huge to make this a great value. Overall, this was a great spot to come and enjoy some mexican food where there is truly something for everyone on the menu. They do offer Happy Hour Mon-Fri from 11am -3pm & 5-7pm where some drinks are discounted but the pricing wasn't very clear. I did ask and the $12 Margarita was discounted down to $9 for reference.
