Pollo Salteado
Cavolimp G.

I have to give the place two stars, sadly. I'm of Colombian decent and I brought my gringo husband with me since we've been on a quest to find really good Colombian food in SWFL. We ordered the bistec palomilla and pollo salteado. Good flavor, I can't knock that, but my steak was very, very hard (overcooked I think). My husband's chicken was good but there was very little chicken on his plate. What they did was mix the french fries with the chicken so basically, it was sautéed chicken + french fries mixed together. Look at the pic closely. One other very important thing is we arrived at 6pm for dinner and they had already run of empanadas, pan de bono, buñuelos, and chicharron! On a 6pm on a Saturday night. How? How can you serve a bandeja paisa without chicharron? Anyway, i would love to see this business succeed but we won't be going back. So disappointing. Oh....and the reviews left by others.....they must be family or paid to leave reviews. Sorry

beef empanada

Props to the Latin family for giving us home cooked specialties. Waved in by the human sign guy on Pine Ridge, I easily found this small restaurant in the far corner of the Bed Bath & Beyond strip mall. So I walked in the door where a small Chile flag hangs, and read the two page menu while Cuban music played. Lots caught my eye, including fried yucca, Peruvian marisco, and three kinds of empanadas. The beef empanada that I thoroughy enjoyed was filled with chunks of beef and onion and gravy. The fried, envelope of dough was chewy.. I especially liked the house chimichurri that had just the right pique.

Spicy tuna, a Peruvian specialty

Hint: it's not just a bakery! Latin Family Bakery is a nice family run restaurant in the corner of a strip mall with about 8 total tables. They serve both Chilean and Peruvian food though the Chilean flag and Chilean sports playing on the TV give this place away as primarily Chilean. The food here really surprised, authentic South American. If that is what you seek, you won't be disappointed. The spicy salsa they bring out to start is a real winner! Most of the main courses are meat with fried egg and rice but they also have a nice seafood soup. And yes, there is a Latin bakery inside but it is small. This is a fantastic place for lunch if you are in the area.

Buñuelos Colombianos!!! Yummy. Its very good...

The attention is terrible and when you enter it smells of cockroaches, I would like to make an inspection of that place.

What is Pueblito Paisa? According to my Columbian friend, it is literally translated to "Little…read moreVillage Paisa". This is a charming little village nestled in Medellin, Columbia. With its cobblestone streets, white church, colorful buildings, plaza and breathtaking view on the Nutibara Hill, it becomes a popular tourist attraction in Medellin! Pueblito Paisa was built in 70's to replicate a typical Antioquian Village to showcase their lifestyle and heritage! Mi Pueblito Paisa started as food truck at 4509 Lee Blvd, Lehigh Acres serving Columbian cuisine. In late 2023, they moved to FGCU's University Village. It is situated next to Tacos and Tequila Cantina. It has six inside tables and more than dozen outside tables. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday! We walked in for early dinner on Saturday. The staff is very hospitable, friendly and answered many questions we had. This location was a take-out restaurant with heavy deep-fried items. The ambiance was simple other than the huge Mi Pueblito Paisa sign with customs and hats. If you go to www. mipueblitopasia.com, or Facebook or Instagram, it still refers to the Lehigh Acres food truck location and menu. The new menu using QR code on the table was not working in my iPhone. The new menu at the University Village is greatly expanded. Their web site or social media is work in progress! I have images of some of popular Columbian dishes from home and with the help of our server, we ordered a Salchipapas, and Cazuela de Marisco with a nice Mora fruit drink! The Salchipapas, one of popular fast-food dish commonly served as street food. The Pueblito Paisa version has crunchy French Fries topped with sausage, pork belly, white cheese in condiments. The sausage and pork belly added the savory taste to the fries! The portion was huge and we took half portion home! Th Cazuela de Marisco was a seafood stew that is served with Avocado/tomato salad, coconut rice and fried plantains or tostones. This seafood stew was served with small shrimps, clams, scallops, and calamari but packed in flavor! The avocado/tomato salad with a little onion added a refreshing taste to the stew. Wife loves that coconut rice but she is not a fried plantain fan! If you like Columbian food, this is the place to visit! We'll back for more Sancocho, Bandeja and Picada!

I waited an hour for arepa. The restaurant wasn't even full. Food was delicious but we need quicker…read moreservice. Water didn't arrive until after being there 30 minutes.
