Originally picked XYZ because of their customer service, even though they were more expensive, and the staff seemed to understand after hours access was necessary for people who worked for a living, and were renovating their house so thus needed to move things in and out of the locker on a daily basis. They were fine granting it in 2 week blocks. Then something changed internally and we were forced to call the facility every day, during the day, to get access that night, even though everyone is issued a unique access code. That was annoying enough, but boy was I wrong. Today, the day I was moving a large set of furniture to the locker, the staff forgot to grant the after-hours access even though I talked to them in person! (Their system is to write it on a post-it note and do it whenever they feel like it). Of course I also only find out at 7:05PM right after the office closes and no one picks up the phone. I now have to pay an extra $200 to keep the moving truck another day and park it in a random outdoor parking lot, unsupervised. In that one failure, the storage locker has now costed us almost the cost of the locker itself. I met a couple my first day at 7:10PM who was in a similar situation where they had driven down from Barrie only to find after hours access hadn't been given to them and there was no one they could call to get access. I should have taken that as a sign and cancelled my locker right then and there. I honestly would have been fine to pay an extra $10-$20 extra for blanket after-hours access, but instead their senior leadership choose to annoy their customers for no reason.

As I mentioned in my previous review, the movers were highly skilled and very experienced but mistakes were made that caused some damage to my furniture. We're human and we all make mistakes. Minor damage to furniture is a normal part of moving and I expected it when I hired this company. What I didn't expect was that the owner would take the time to contact me, to listen attentively to my complaints and then to respond by remedying the situation. I did not expect compassion, kindness or a human being at the end of the phone line who was deeply apologetic. I was very impressed with the humanity shown by Paul. Paul didn't just apologize for the mistakes made by his crew, he took responsibility and ownership for those mistakes. He showed integrity and to me, that is what differentiates a good business from a bad one. Thank you for being an honourable human, Paul and for running your business with integrity. I highly recommend Inner City Moving & Storage Company. Patrice

My rent on my unit was increased by 70% with no notification, simply a demand of payment was requested up from the regular $279 + taxes to $479 + taxes a month. I called the office, when speaking with Gary (employee at Bertrand location) he explained that it is not his job, he had no time to discuss my billing change with no notification, he suggested I was at fault for this billing change, and that it would have to be 15 years ago for me to be paying $279. Gary came of rude and aggressive over the phone, so I requested to speak with management or an owner. I spoke with Shawn (Management at the Gerrard location), at first he told me I have always been paying $479 that was final, he emailed me an invoice of this (August 2017) month's request of $573, he told me I could have never been paying $279. I emailed back and requested a copy of all my previous invoices. Gary emailed me back my invoices up to December 2016 and the invoices show that I have been paying $279. I requested staff to rectify this billing issue because the rate I am being charged is not the rate agreed upon the contract. Gary calls me back and tells me that management has recently changed and that my rent is going to be $479. I explain that this is not the agreed upon contract rate, and that I have had no notification of this price change. Gary tells me he doesn't have time, he says I have been notified and he is not going to fight with me, so I request to speak with management. I speak with Shawn and he explains that they have being doing me a favor by charging me $279, he kept mentioning a gift horse analogy, and that $479 was a good rate. When asked what kind of notification was sent as to the price increase he simply told me I was notified. My personal feelings about these two individuals I have encountered at Migson Public Storage recently are that they seem dishonest, they're actions and statements poorly represent the company.
