I have bumped my rating up to 3 stars mostly because they installed an elevator so you won't have to haul boxes up and down stairs like I did). HOURS - Have you looked at their site? Did you notice how they don't post their hours prominently? That's because it closes at 7 p.m. on weekdays, and 5 p.m. (FIVE!) on weekends. (edit: the manager says that after hours access may be possible) GETTING WET - There is a nice little garden in the front of the building. I began to resent that garden after the time that I arrived hauling a heavy suitcase and found that a sprinkler had been setup spraying across the only ramp up to the main entrance, forcing me to get soaked on my way in. (Did I mention that they don't care about their customers, or at least not as much as their sunflowers?) PARTIES - I once had problems accessing my unit because access to the storage units was going to be cut off early that night because there was going to be some kind of political gala held in the garage area of the building. (Why?!) Shamefully, there was no email warning about this. (The manager says that although they continue to host parties here - something you don't have to worry about at most STORAGE FACILITIES - that customers will be warned about early closures). DRIVING - If you are driving there from the north, it is very difficult to turn into their parking lot. Finally, those storage units aren't sealed at the top, so anyone with a ladder could easily access the contents of your unit.

Staff were friendly and conscientious. Facilities are well run, up-to-date and clean, including bathrooms. They even provided complementary water, coffee and chocolates in the office. Nice details! Pro tips: 1. If you are storing things long-term, like me, remember to put a dust cover over your boxes and other items and bring cleaning/dusting supplies when you are moving out, as you will be surprised how much dust can build up over time. They messed up my contact information and almost auctioned my belongings without proper notification. They called me on the auction day, demanding immediate payment, and only accepted cash or debit, claiming they don't trust credit cards due to potential chargebacks. This policy is absurd and highly inconvenient. The next month, I purposely withheld payment to see if they would use my corrected contact details. At 45 days overdue, they left a voicemail asking me to come in and pay, saying I could use cash or card. When I arrived with my credit card, they refused it, citing a made-up "policy." The staff also refused to connect me with a manager until I had to become belligerent to get them to comply. I asked to see their business license, which they must have to operate in Toronto and conduct auctions, but they refused, insisting they needed some authority to show it to me. I informed them it should be posted on the wall, but they still wouldn't show it. Their communication is terrible, their payment policies are inconsistent and unfair, and their customer service is abysmal. The manager admitted they avoid credit cards due to chargebacks, but that's no excuse for misleading and mistreating customers. Avoid this storage facility at all costs unless you want to deal with incompetence and dishonesty. If you're in the market for storage. After much back and forth - me sending bank record proof of automated payments made - it is discovered that I actually did make the payment. I was not at fault. After the most recent (relentless) rent increase I got the payment amount wrong by $0.02. After informing me that my payment was found to have been made after several phone calls, I was told that I still had overdue payment to which interest will apply. How much? $0.02. I consider the repeated emails and phone calls wasting my time - without cause - to be harrassing. As a result, I cannot help but think that Apple Storage is attempting to upset me to such a degree me that I will vacate the unit as the only way to stop this customer service nightmare.
