I rented a small storage unit at this facility from 2014 to 2023. The service was smooth and easy. They provided for all my storage needs, moving in and out. Staff were friendly and conscientious. Facilities are well run, up-to-date and clean, including bathrooms. They even provided complementary water, coffee and chocolates in the office. Nice details! Pro tips: 1. If you are storing things long-term, like me, remember to put a dust cover over your boxes and other items and bring cleaning/dusting supplies when you are moving out, as you will be surprised how much dust can build up over time. (This is not a reflection on the cleanliness of the facility. Its just what happens in a space that hasn't been dusted for 11 years.) 2. If I could give no stars, I would. Do not store your property at the 7 Copeland Street location. My unit was robbed last week. Instead of helping the police by immediately providing the security footage, securing the crime scene, the management staff waited before calling them and are dragging their feet providing the security footage. Definitely not taking it seriously as they also make jokes like "was there really anything of value taken or in the locker?" I can't go into further details since this is under investigation. My advice - think twice about My Storage and in particular, the 7 Copeland Street, Toronto location to store your property. There are better places to store your stuff. read more

This is a great place staff is relaxed , they don't mind you doing some work in the hallways or in the drive in bay , as as long as you clean up your mess after , as you should . I have been here for at least 10 years ranging from 1 unit to as much as 7 units at a time . Sure it don't have shiny floors and pretty carpet , but hey it's a storage facility not a condo or villa. If you want fancy then move to Yorkville where you will find a nice place for 4 times the price . People who complain, will complain about anything anyway. read more

This is based on my experience located at 7 Copeland Street... I pre-booked in advance on October 5th for a rental truck to move on October 31st for 9:30AM pick up time frame.. This was already pre-charged on my credit card when I booked with Brigette who was helpful in assisting me. I did mentioned to her I had some concern about rental truck companies doing last minute cancellation and such, and she advised I didn't have to worry seeing as I pre-booked quite ahead of time... I called again on Thursday or Friday October 28-29 time frame to re-confirm that I still have the truck rental and that everything is still good, and the phone rep confirmed that everything is good to go... On Saturday, October 31st, I'm leaving on schedule to drive over to 7 Copeland Street to pick up the truck rental as scheduled at 9:30AM...To my dismay, I received a phone call at around 9:15AM indicating that my truck is not available until 3pm from Dalia...Mind you, Dalia was trying to offer some solutions, and I will mentioned it here, and you can see which option was best... Option 1- Wait until 3pm to receive the truck, as the person on the previous day booked it for 3pm and gets 24 hours to utilize the vehicle... -My concern is why put another pre-booked client in jeopardy over booking another client on a time slot where it will interrupt someone's need of the vehicle? - I was informed this person had booked this vehicle on October 26, and it seemed he had better priority than my booking... - To Dalia's credit, she did call the client asking what is the approx time slot they will return the vehicle, and she was informed it'll be from 1p-3p time slot... Option 2- Go all the way over to Sutton (Keswick) area to pick up the vehicle...I'm locating in midtown Toronto...Dalia advised that the truck there is available if I wish to travel there...I was looking to make arrangement, but they have a 29 cents/per km which will be about 150km minimum from Sutton to 7 Copeland Street and back...I felt this was A) Unnecessary travel for my inconvenience; B) To still be charged for that is not right from a business matter... -Dalia confirmed with higher up Management and they were willing to waive the km charge from Sutton to 7 Copeland St and back. -The downfall, not allow to return the truck to 7 Copeland and has to be Sutton... Option 3- To get a full refund knowingly that my options are pretty much non-existent because its end of month moving... What do fellow Yelpers think about these options provided to me? I stuck with option 1 and waited to receive the truck as mentioned time at 3pm...Didn't get the truck until 3:40pm...I also mentioned I think it would be fair for our situation to be reimbursed some sort of refund amount, and Dalia mentioned if we're picking up at 7 Copeland we wouldn't be getting anything for the inconvenience caused... - I informed Dalia, I lost a few hundred dollars hiring movers to help where the truck is not ready, but at best Dalia mentioned 10% discount!!! I mentioned I can get this automatically just by paying cash at a restaurant, where this is not only unjustified in handling this mishap, but not re-assuring to get my future business. She did mentioned in the future if we book it again that our experience will be better and chuckled...You wonder why she chuckled? Likely because she knows our return will not happen seeing as nothing was looked after at all...Dalia keeps insisting that she needs to speak with higher up, yet she is a site-manager? With no authority to make any instant resolution of making customer happy with a bad experience...Nada! In conclusion, if you're willing to risk to book with this company, know 100% sure that something may happen to you or someone that is booking a truck rental, because in the end its to earn profit over customer satisfaction... Its embarrassing to not be 'Accountable' for your own mishaps, and that this will fall through on deaf ear and future customers will experience likely the same outcome... read more

I used this storage and it was horrible: The storage itself had a hole in the wall, and no lights in front of it. I can't recommend this storage to anyone. The price stated on the site is far from true due to so many hidden fees. After paying everything required I still received messages, emails stating I had open payments, even sending the payment invoice and related proof of payment the didn't answer. I needed a wood workshop and went to this My Storage location, looked at a very specific unit that was right beside the bay door and paid for a down payment. I had 1 month to decide and when I returned within the month to sign for the unit I was informed that they had disregarded my downpayment completely and moved someone else into my unit. They also charged me a $50 fee for leaving a bit of saw dust in front of my unit and when i emailed them about this fee asking a few questions about it they never responded. They don't even take the time and professionalism to email their customers they just take your money. Like the other review said.. this place is sneaky. They just want your money. With respect to 7 Copeland Street...I echo other comments - their actions are unethical...everything might go fine with your rental, but if not don't be surprised to be taken advantage of. I rented a truck. I was lead to believe that I needed to return the gas tank full. I understood this because when I commented that they rented me the truck with very little fuel in it (so the first thing I needed to do after picking it up was to put fuel in it, which is frustrating), the attendant, Shanna, apologized and shared with me that the last person who returned the truck did so with very little fuel but was charged $5 per litre for not filling it up. I was shocked at that ridiculously high and punitive charge and commented that I would surely return it full. The requirement to return a rented vehicle full is consistent with every other vehicle I have rented, so I had no reason to question the policy. So I returned it full, going out of my way at 2:30 am to a gas station local to the Copeland facility to ensure that the tank was full, putting in over $100 in fuel. I dropped the keys through the window, and then the next day saw the charge and that they had neglected to credit me for the 7/8 of a tank of fuel. Apparently the fine print of the contract indicates that I am to return the truck with the same amount of fuel as when I rented the truck. This is not only a ridiculous requirement (how can you possibly judge your usage to arrive at exactly the amount you had), but one that is inconsistent with standard practice, and also one that was different than what I was lead to believe by the representative of MyStorage. They informed me that it was my free choice to return the truck with a full tank, and that since I signed the contract, it doesn't matter what their representative said, they could not and would not be issuing me a credit. But they did acknowledge that I picked up the truck with 1/8 of a tank and returned it full. So perhaps this us my fault for not reading the contract closely enough, so what they have done is not illegal, perhaps, but it is pretty shady and unethical...they know with this policy that they will always be making money from the gas gauge....either you leave more in than when you picked up, or they charge you $5 per litre for anything less than when you picked up. I will never deal with these people again, and suggest you do the same - there are plenty of van rental and storage places out there...choose one that run their business ethically. read more

i have a beef with this branch. a couple of things that i found that is quite an inconvenience and at the same time, dubious. the first time was with an elevator issue. i was moving some heavy items in and found that the elevator was faulty after loading up and going up halfway, it stopped. i couldn't get anyone from any of their contact info and thank goodness, another renter knew how to release the elevator. the 2nd one was with payment via online, i kept getting a decline report and when i checked my banking app, i was charged 3 times. the branch failed to issue a refund and after calling the merchant for my card, a refund recovery was issued. the third was with email notifications, i didn't receive any reminder hence my account went past due with a pensaty and last but not the least was another failed notification and to make matters worse, this branch changed the locks without notifying me via email or phone call. i chatted with someone via their chat app and was told to call customer service only to find out that the call center is closed and was also told that i was to go to the branch first thing in the morning. i would not and will not recommend to anyone this storage facility. read more

Beware! My storage lockers were filthy. The first one I had got soaked with cement juice during their renovation. Then I moved, only to have my stuff covered in the nastiest dirtiest sawdust (MDF) from one of the nearby workshops they rent. When I finally got fed up and gave 6 weeks notice, they wanted to keep billing me for another four weeks citing that they couldn't pro-rate. Madness! I'm still waiting to see if they'll credit me for their error. But it made me wonder if it's just disorganization, or if it's the kind of scam that gyms run, once they have your credit card #. I know customers who were lured into a deal, like free monthly storage, and then locked out when managment ask for retroactive payment of the free months. Do not rent here!!!! Had a unit here for 4 years. In last year, fees were increased not once, but twice, arbitrarily and without notice. Attempted to contact facility manager in person, via email and phone multiple times, and was never responded to. Had to launch complaint with BBB just to receive some type of response. Was told that my rent went up because I had originally received a "promotional rate" way back when I first signed up (funny, it doesn't say "promotional rate" anywhere on my contract), and that "you can't expect to pay that forever". Was told I was sent a notice of rent increase via email, and that "it must have gone to your spam folder". Didn't happen, as they are on my contact list, and in fact had received my normal monthly invoice via inbox just fine. I was once 2 days late with my rental payment, and they certainly seemed to be able to contact me with no issues when that occurred. I do appreciate the attempts of Whitney, the receptionist at the Copeland St. location, in trying to pass on my repeated messages to management, and for her excellent customer service skills and patience. I also applaud Nancy, the head manager I finally got to speak to today (a month after I have already removed my all my belongings from the facility as a matter of principle); she was genuinely apologetic for all the miscommunications. At this point, however, having already gone through the process of moving my things, it's "too little, too late". Renters beware!!!!! DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE from MyStorage / U-Rent.Me! I rented a cargo van from them last Saturday. I returned the vehicle with a minor 6" scrape and was subsequently charged $1,700 to replace the entire advertising decal spanning the full length of the 16 foot cargo box. This was an unreasonable, excessive charge out of all proportion to the actual damage. This is a moving van after all, not a limousine, and a few scrapes and dings are in the nature of normal wear-and tear -an exorbitant cost to put the van in pristine condition is not reasonable or justifiable. I indicated strongly that I did not accept a repair bill of that amount and demanded a call from the manager before anything was processed against the damage pre-authorization I had provided. I received no call - they simply paid themselves $1,700 on my Visa with no further discussion. MyStorage/ U-Rent.Me's business practices put customers in a vulnerable position, susceptible to being taken advantage of by unscrupulous management. I strongly caution against using them. read more
