Mario and his excellent crew demolished 40 linear feet of rotted redwood benches on our flagstone decking and replaced them with new redwood benches. The quality of his work was first class, the price was quite reasonable, and the job was completed quickly. Mario and his entire crew were professional, personable, and extremely helpful. I have used Mario's AIX Construction company for several jobs in recent years and have always been very pleased with the results. Greg M. read more

AIX did bathroom remodels in both of our bathrooms back in 2019. Earlier this year, I had to hire a plumber to repair a leak coming from the upstairs bathroom, and he determined that the leak was caused by improperly installed drain pipes in the bathroom. And now we are having the standard tub/shower in the upstairs bathroom replaced with a walk-in safety shower. The crew observed that the pipes beneath the vanity and shower were not installed to code, and a weight-bearing cross beam was cut in order to make room for a wide drain pipe. Assuming these inferior pipes were installed and the beam cut during this remodel project, it's all very disappointing! read more

Mario's estimate was the lowest of four bids to add a bath and renovate another one and well, we got what we paid for - even 14 months later we're having other contractors correct his team's mistakes and very poor workmanship. A friend suggested getting an estimate so I'm writing this to save others from a tough time. I strongly urge you to avoid Mario and Aix construction unless you want to project manage every step, deal with terrible communication frequency (really infrequency until we reached out for updates...why was it always on us to find out?) and quality, never be told the project's status or when people will be on site (or if they can't make it never expect Mario to actually tell you so) and have the onus put on you to research things like local building codes. We had to watch his crew's work every step of the way because the quality was so low, they didn't install things in the right places, and we simply learned early on that we couldn't assume things would be done as we drew them up. For example, something as simple as a toilet paper holder wasn't centered on a two-foot wide wall, off by six inches...when we presented this to Mario he argued back hard when we were clearly in the right (hard to admit mistakes). I know six inches seems small, but every part of the job was just off like this...the sort of annoyances you know and see everyday b/c it's your home. We would've loved if the crew checked with us for each installation or decision point instead of just barreling ahead, then when a mistake's made it's like climbing up a mountain to get it corrected - are you counting on us, the paying customer to just not tell you to correct everything b/c so many things are wrong? Imagine needing to provide this much care for the new bath construction where doors aren't square, baseboards have slight bends to them, and tiles aren't centered - again every part needed our oversight and we're not builders. You don't want this, trust me. I'm happy to provide more details via messaging. I'm not a bot or a Yelper complaining that a phone call wasn't returned - I used them (wonder why there are no recent reviews). I'm just a homeowner who paid good money for something done right that never was, was a stressful time throughout, and am still using other contractors to cleanup Aix's poor work because I don't want to deal with them anymore. read more

When undertaking a big project, whether it's updating a room or a major renovation, you want to know you can count on the people you are working with. Mario and AIX Construction are the kind of people and company you can trust to create beautiful spaces, execute your vision, and stay within budget. My wife and I recently completed a bathroom remodel and we are thrilled with the results. Mario's quote was reasonable and he stuck to it. His crew was punctual, communicative, and experienced. The process was as seamless as could be expected, and the final product is more beautiful and functional than we could have hoped. We enthusiastically recommend this business for your construction and renovation needs. We will use again! read more

Our realtor referred us to Mario and AIX Construction for a a project to convert a large downstairs bedroom/bonus room into two bedrooms and one bathroom. No square footage was added, but this was a large project involving significant electrical and plumbing, adding two new exterior sliding doors, a window, raising a sunken floor, and framing out new interior walls and closets. Mario met with us several times during the scoping and planning process, including working with his architect to draw up several plans for us to choose from in terms of the layout of the extra bedroom and new bath. Mario handled the planning and permitting with the Town of Danville, which was seamless, and then his team got to work. They were very respectful, clean, organized and diligent in completing tasks. The team was always able to accommodate our requests and make changes as we assessed the project at each stage. The finished product looks great and we love our new remodeled space. Mario's team even handled a bunch of other small projects around the house as they were finishing up for us. read more

Upon recommendation of my Realtor, Emanuel Sakkis (see my review of Empire Realty), we recently hired Mario and his crew to do some work on our new home. I reached out to Mario via email, he responded within an hour to set up an appointment. I gave him a brief outline of what we were interested in doing and he agreed to meet us for a quote. Mario arrived on time, reviewed the area, and delivered an itemized quote by email within the day. Each portion of the job was detailed with parts/supplies and labor broken out separately. His prices are quite competitive. We decided to move forward with a portion of the projects and Mario met up at the house to determine the plan of action and agree on the timing and completion. We gave Mario a deposit and he got to work. The work was done on time, the crew was punctual and tidy, and the finished project far exceeded my expectations. His service is also outstanding - he keeps you posted via email and voicemail, and he met each deadline we agreed upon. We'll be using Mario again. read more

Mario and his team are fantastic. They have given our outdated kitchen new life. Mario met with us on a Saturday morning to view the project--and within a week had 3 different scenarios for how to proceed--all with itemized cost estimates. We are thrilled with how everything turned out. We will certainly have Mario's company back to do additional work on our home--we were extremly happy with the quality of work done. Thank you! read more

I'm shocked to see positive reviews for Mario although if you look at the other reviews they are all a few years old...I wonder if something has changed within his business over the last few years that has caused a change in his work. Working with Mario has been an absolute nightmare...a ton of frustration. Delays, poor quality,...I really wished we had gone with someone else. Feel free to message me and I can provide details of what happened. read more

We've recently hired Mario Salinas General Construction to do some work in our home and there simply aren't enough good things to say about Mario and his outstanding crew. As other reviewers have raved, they are punctual, thorough, professional, highly skilled and supremely considerate---always take extraordinary care of our home while they are here working. Mario was referred to me by a decorator I've been using to do what started out as a simple one room makeover. Our project has since morphed into nearly an entire house transformation due in large part to Mario's efficient and high-quality work and unbelievably competitive pricing. I have been simply blown away by this team time and time again and they never fail to deliver above and beyond what they promise to deliver no matter how big or trivial the request. As often happens with these types of projects there may be a tweak needed here or a color change needed there or an adjustment needed somewhere else. Mario and his team never batted an eyelash if I needed them to make any revisions or corrections to any aspect of the work in mid-stream---for them, it is all about ensuring that I am 100% satisfied with the outcome. I've had other contractors in the home during this time who specialized in other aspects of the remodel and couldn't wait for them to be out of my hair and my home. With Mario and his team, I'm always delighted to welcome them and a little sad to see them go. We've already had them come in for phases I and II and will be calling them back for phase III once we're ready to do some additional work. Mario and his team are the epitome of professionalism, kindness and class---can't wait to have them back! read more

Prior to purchasing our home the inspectors found a few issues with the place, and we wanted to get an estimate on completing the work prior to purchasing the home. Mario was the only contractor who would come out to the property to give an estimate; all of the others contacted would only make an estimate over the phone. He came out at 7:30 PM on a week night (the only time we were available) to give the estimate, which included needing to crawl under the house and going up into the attic, something even the home inspectors would not do. The estimate was very complete and reasonably priced. After we bought the house, we hired his company to do the work. Mario and his crew redid the supports of our house, brought the plumbing system up to code, installed new rain gutters and a few other things. The final cost matched the estimate, the work was completed 2 days earlier than expected and Mario has to be one of the nicest people we have ever met. read more

Mario was great to work with. My wife and I hired him about two years ago to redo our kitchen and his work still makes us smile. He was very accommodating and worked with us to identify what it was we actually wanted. Once agreed upon he delivered at the agreed upon price and pretty darn close to on time. I have no problem recommending him. read more

We were looking for a contractor do do a general remodel of our laundry room. It wasn't a big job, but we wanted specific things included. Mario came and met with my husband and myself, looked over what was needed and wanted, and completed the job on time, with superior work and a crew that was always professional and on time. They came, they worked , they cleaned up and then left...only to return the next day and start all over again. We were so happy with the quality of work that was done. I cannot speak highly enough of Marion Salinas Construction and his crew! I would hire them again for any job. read more

Mario Salinas & his team built a 600 sq ft addition to my home and re-configured some the existing portion. He supplied a well documented, comprehensive estimate. The project turned out beautiful. Mario & his crew have top notch customer service skills. He responds to phone calls, emails back promptly, and arrives when stated. He provided me with well organized & extensive documentation of building supplies, invoices, and product documentation. His crew was very respectful to my family and of my property. He provided practical cost saving ideas for consideration. Mario worked extensively with the city office on my behalf. The timeline remained intact. He and his crew have lots of pride in their finished work! Without a doubt, I recommend Mario Salinas for any small or large construction job. read more

From the beginning I felt comfortable with Mario. I am a person of few words. I explain what I want and like short concise answers. Mario supplied me with an overload of information for my project, which was some foundation work repaving a driveway and a new fence on my property. I was immediately impressed by the estimate. It was concise and detailed, each part of the project was priced separately so I had a better idea of where my money was going. He was competitive with the only other bid I asked for. The efficiency of the workers and his supervision was beyond reproach. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. When my neighbor next but one saw the finished project, he called Mario that night and asked if he would give him an estimate for replacing his fence. High praise indeed from the local handyman. read more

Mario and his crew are more than 5 star!!! My husband and I are overwhelmed with the amazing job this fine firm has transformed our home into a show piece. Mario and his firm were puntual ,clean, thoughtful and their craftsmenship amazing.Mario had a time frame from beginning to end and weekly itemized reports were given to us with complete or pending,,His biggest concern was our joy and satisfaction. How about that? I actually teared up when I said good=bye for now..With so many choice's it's difficult to know if you will be making a good one. I can only let you know our experience. Mario and his crew enjoy what they do it showed everyday. read more

Heard great things about his work. Very courteous and professional when I met him. Only problem is he never followed up with his bid for our kitchen. I left him a msg and email but no response. I went with another contractor instead. read more
