Back in the day, Dr. Aivaz was a phenomenal dentist. The office was amazing. Very courteous. The speed forward to January 2026. I made an appointment for today. I was told by the Office staff that somebody would call me the day before my appointment to give me all the dental & copay information. They went on to say that it's an out-of-pocket express for the fancy imaging..... if they are a network doctor, wouldn't you think they'd have in networking Imaging ?? Earlier in the week I called about my appointment. Not only were they rude on the phone, they didn't address my concern. The lady on the phone stated that they would call me in basically hung up on me while I was still speaking. I called my insurance company because I was curious about in network and out network dentists. The Insurance told me BEWARE!! Even though the office might be in network, the dentist might not be! People, you need to find out who the dentist is and find out if he or she is in YOUR network. Needless to say the dental office never called me. I decided to call after hours and leave a message that I wanted to cancel my appointment for in the morning. I'm wondering why they didn't call me. Was it because they were not in network? Did they think because once I got in the office, I would say oh just do it anyway? I don't know ‍ I canceled the appointment and now I'm going to research it a little bit more. I was referred by Dr Hosena (Belmont Dental) which by the way I LOVE. I needed a root canal specialist and was referred to this office. I am a TOTAL coward when it comes to dental work and they made me feel seen and comfortable. The Valium helped too lol. Best part... I got a mocha smoothie after my root canals... yes, I got two in one day. There was hardly any wait and I received treatment right away. They take insurance. I have Delta Dental. At 76 years old you would think I would know what a root canal entailed. I spoke to several experienced friends and got some people who thought it was the worst day of their lives and others who thought it was no big deal. Dr. Aivaz was great. His staff was as good. They took me in right at the appointed time, made me comfortable and I can honestly say I've experienced more pain when getting my hair cut than I experienced with Dr. Aivaz. I was warned that I might hurt or need Tylenol or Advil for awhile after the procedure. I had an almost insignificant awareness that I had a dental visit that night. I took one tylenol as a precaution and expected pain the next morning. Nothing of the sort. Two days post root canal and I'm as good and pain free as I could hope for. The Doctor is not real chatty but he knows his business and is good/great at it! read more

Both doctors were excellent, I had 2 root canals fairly pain free and I was able to be scheduled fairly quickly which I appreciated, no issue with the care. My disappointment came with their questionable office billing practices. I was referred here last year for some pain in my left molars, nothing showed up on the X-rays so I was told to return if it happened again and take over the counter pain relief. I gave them my insurance information they at that time told me it was likely covered and if not they would let me know, I never heard anything. Over a year passed and I returned with the same issue on the right side, I needed 2 root canals, I was advised of my coverage and my out of pocket cost which I agreed to. I later received a phone call that there would be an additional approximately $300 cost from my visit over a year ago as it was not covered! I asked why am I just hearing about this now? You had all last year to bill me? I was told "well we were going to disregard it" I asked if that was the case why are you charging me now? "Well because you came back so now we are charging you". So really I was being penalized for being a return customer. I expressed my disappointment at this and it also made me wonder if there were other issues with their billing practices. At this point I was in pain and did not want to start over with another doctor which they obviously knew I needed to get my tooth pain addressed. Considering they probably wrote it off on their taxes since it was last year I felt this was not fair to me as a patient. I expressed disappointment again when I arrived for my appointment but didn't get very far so I reluctantly paid it as I did not want any collection issues on my credit report. read more

Let me start this off by saying in the past I had a nightmare root canal from another dentist. They did not get me numb and proceeded to do the root canal. I don't get numb very easy. As a result I am scared and panic even during normal fillings. This is the mentality I had walking in for a root canal with Dr. Aivaz. This experience was an absolute pleasure! I had zero pain and was completely numb. I've had several root canals in the past but this was the best one if that even makes sense. He was fast. I was given a shot to get numb around 8:15. It is now 9:00 and I'm in my vehicle writing this review. By the way I didn't know this but Dr. Aivaz graduated from Harvard Dental School. As if this experience wasn't already a great one. I was always so afraid of dentists because of being cursed with bad teeth, but Dr Aivaz has made me no longer afraid just because of how easy/painless/quick the root canal was. Unfortunately this was my second time getting a root canal and fortunately, Dr. Aivaz makes it super easy, painless, and helped my fear of having my teeth worked on. I live in Anaheim Hills and will drive out of my way to go back to him (hopefully won't have to). I have a dentist I love and sadly no stranger to dental work. However, for my recent situation, I needed to be referred to Dr. Aivaz. I have major dental anxiety so was a bit anxious. I am having a hard time understanding negative reviews. From the minute I walked in for consultation, I was comfortable. The staff was great and made sure I was comfortable. Today I had a root canal done on an infected tooth by Dr. Aivaz. He was awesome and made sure I was comfortable both physically and mentally the entire time. I had maxed out on my dental insurance so this was out of pocket and I expected to pay way more than I did for this procedure. I would definitely recommend this team of great people. read more

Have had some challenges with Dentistry work in the past (apparently I have excessively long roots, an abnormally dense bone structure, and tradition Novacane does not always take effect). Never having a root canal previously I had my apprehensions..those concerns were dashed after a one hour procedure from arrival to completion. Completely pain free during procedure. Left the office and went to a client lunch immediately after. Some lingering ligament soreness from the procedure for several days but no real pain. read more

I haven't been to the dentist in years. One of those people that hate going to the dentist. I had a broken tooth. I received a letter of denial from my primary dentist sending the request for a root canal. So I went the next day and paid in full with care credit. I received a call later that day from his office and they had received a letter of approval and would be returning the money to care credit. Never have I experienced that kind of integrity in the dental world. Dr. aivaz also said o was an "excellent patient." Which made me feel so much more comfortable and confident to now go back and fix the rest of my teeth. The moment I walked into the office I felt a sense of wellbeing. Some places are so filthy and the receptionists don't even greet you. Not here. All is well with this company. You should be in safe and honest hands. read more

Was referred to the office for a root canal; after a complete and transparent diagnosis of my symptoms, and x-rays, she explained that it would be a disservice to perform the procedure; and demonstrated why. My dentist referred me to a specialist because she couldn't work on my root canal. :-( I had my doubts about her referral as well because because she couldn't finish my root canal and didn't do a good job at cleaning it up. The one around where I lived didn't accept my Blue Cross insurance. So I had no choice. Although expensive!! They said my insurance only paid half for a specialist, I had to cough up $300 on my part! I had no choice and didn't want to wait any longer. They were very flexible with the schedule and were able to fit me in immediately. I specific said I wanted Dr. Aivaz because it was his practice and I also read his one review on here by Libby A. The assistance were very nice. The other doctor made sure I was numbed very well. Then Dr. Aivaz came and gave me another shot on my front tooth area to make sure I was completely numb. He was very professional. I had a really difficult tooth but he succeeded at it. He was pretty gentle compare to other doctors I had before. I am a big cry baby and always very tense at dentists. I also liked the idea that they put a latex glove like material over and inside my mouth where saliva won't go down your throat as they are working on my tooth. So far so good as for my tooth. Yet I had lots of pain afterward due to my sensitivity. advice: Any time you go to a dentist especially a root canal, make sure you take 2 to 3 Advil an half an hour before. It really helps!!! I usually leave with a migraine headache and neck stiff, but the Ibuprofen helped!! read more

I came back for another root canal with Dr. Aivaz office. Had consultation with Dr. Mitri who helps to assess the problem tooth and educates patients on treatment plan as well as preventative dental care. Very thorough and friendly. Dr. Aivaz is still gentle and efficient as always. He had the best bedside manner and explains everything that he is doing. He is so gentle that I'm able to return to work after my root canal. No pain and he is always double checking to make sure I'm fully numb. As long as Dr. Aivaz is practicing I will continue to go to to him for root canals. Office is clean and inviting . The staff are attentive, and pricing is transparent with staff ensuring to inform me of all costs before the treatment. Can't ask for more. read more

I had to have a root canal done at Dr. John Aivaz office ( first time ever in my life). His team made me feel comfortable not only once but twice. The first time during my consultation. The day of my root canal , I was blessed to have both dentists , whom by the way are brothers ( both men are very handsome ) work on tooth #13 upper left. I was scared as hell, but they assured me and reassured me that I will be very numb and won't feel any pain. Boy, were they right on the money. No pain!!! They talked to me every step of the way ( no hidden surprises at all). Once the procedure was completed, I had a very personal and endearing conversation with one of his female staff members ( sorry I couldn't remember her name ) but she was a true blessing to me. I had the pleasure to meet Dr. Aivaz last Friday for a root canal. He was referred to me by my dentist. I've heard all the horror stories of a root canal and did not look forward to it. My only comfort was knowing that my wife did great from a root canal performed by Dr. Aivaz. He did such an amazing job. The injection from the anesthesia was more painful than the actual procedure. Trying to be fair since this is my first root canal, however I felt like it was a drive through for Root Canals. Both times waiting, looked like they just pumped them in and out. My experience can be summed up by this: -First consultation: Waited in the room for 45 minutes before anyone noticed I was there. Eventually, a doctor walked in and noticed me. I heard her ask a nurse three times why no one had helped me yet. -Procedure: Next day, they led me in. Already had my x-ray's prepared. The nurse told me the Doctor would be with me in five minutes, which he was. Started my procedure around 1:46pm and I was done by 2:20pm. First he tried to give me Novocain on the wrong side. Then he realized his mistake and switched to the right side. From there, he didn't wait for it to even kick in before drilling. I could feel it all, and stopped him immediately. It took him a few times to start because he still hadn't given me enough. The nurse asked me when I needed suction, which i thought was odd...isn't that her job to know? At the end, he told me Advil would do it and didn't offer any kind of pain medicine...not even ibuprofen. I asked twice. Wouldn't offer even a few. If this was a cavity filling, I could understand. But it was a ROOT CANAL. I went home and did as he said and was in pain for the rest of the evening. read more

Today was my second appt at this office. The first appointment was for a consultation and went very well. I arrived for my appointment this morning at 7:33am for a root canal. I was extremely nervous (did I mention I am PETRIFIED of the dentist). To add to my anxiety I was stressed that I was late. I thought my appointment was at 7:30am. My experience has been "it's okay if a doctor is running behind, but never should the patient." otherwise you end up waiting FOREVER! When I arrived the office was open but no one at the front desk. After two minutes or so, I called out "hello?" A woman who appeared to be a dental assistant stepped out and said "sit down." Admittedly, I was slightly annoyed that she did not say hello, please, or thank you. However, I could tell she was working with a patient. Plus, I was edgy because of the appointment. By 7:55am the same attendant walked out chatting with the patient, but never acknowledged me. I actually thought about walking out but needed the appointment! I also had the feeling that possibly I wrote my appointment time down incorrectly. Finally, a receptionist came on shift. I was HAPPY that I waited. The receptionist was pleasant and helped me right away. Turns out I was 27 minutes early instead of 3 minutes late. Dr. Aivaz saw me right away. My tooth was severely decayed. I was squirming thinking the worst. Dr. Aivaz ROCKED it! Not only was he and the dental assistant (a different girl than earlier) totally nice, but the procedure went with out any pain. Dr. Aivaz explained everything he planned to do and I had a feeling that if he thought anything was off he would not have proceeded. My first 30 minutes were washed away by the awesome service I ended up receiving and the fantastic dental work. I was out of the chair in less than an hour. Next time I will write down the time! Seriously the least painful procedure I have ever had. I'm sensitive to Anesthesia and they listened to me the whole time and I did not feel a thing, they let me listen to music during the procedure and was shocked when he said he was done. Just got home after over an hour in the chair at Dr. Aivaz's surgery. I've, unfortunately, had a lot of dental work over the last 45+ years, and I've come to recognise when I get good service. From the professionally run front office to the dental staff supporting Dr. Aivaz, in my opinion, I've encountered none better. This was my first treatment, and even though he had to spend over an hour working on me, I left knowing that he cared, had done the best work possible, and had my best interests at heart. I was sent here by my insurance company but it was a bit far for me. When I called the office to schedule an appointment, I wasn't sure that I would actually go. I mean who loves dental work? The gal at who answered was very welcoming and really new my insurance. By the end of the call, Adriana had made me feel comfortable. I came it a bit early to my appointment because I was in slight pain but I was pleased to see that Adriana was there to help. My treatment was pretty fast and the rest of the staff was friendly too. I have United Concordia dental insurance and this was one of the choices my main dental office gave me as a reference for root canals that I've had. I love this dental office! (as much as anyone can really love a dental office that is) This is my second time here in the past year. I have had two root canals and both my experiences were great! From the reception area to the assistants as well as the doctors I felt well taken care of. They were all very kind, thorough and timely! It's very easy to get an appointment and I haven't had to sit in the waiting room for an extra hour plus! (Like I've had to in other offices) My first root canal,about a year ago, was done by the main doctor, today it was a different doctor (so sorry I don't know names). Both were awesome! (As awesome as any root canal can be that is) ;) I felt no pain at all besides the initial little pinch of the injected anesthetic. Thank you all! I recently had the most painless root canal at this office. it was actually a good experience. The doctor and his technician smiled or laughed at the jokes i made to ease pain or discomfort but in this situation there wasn't any. Seriously I have had root canals that took three visits at other DDC offices--this one was a breeze. One caveat--wish i could have paid in multiple payment like the dentist who referred me to them did. I wanted my old dds to do the work since they have me with established credit. I didnt realize they didnt offer that as my old dentist did although at my old dentist it would be a bit more painful.! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I was 15 minutes late this morning as I had mistaken my appointment time for 8:30 when it was actually 8. I walked in and explained to him I would like to see about a payment arrangement as I was only approved for $200 with care credit. My mother had already agreed to help me pay up front if this wasn't an option but he took that as I could not pay. Not the case at all, I just wanted to try and do it on my own, if it wasn't an option that was fine. Not only did he charge me $250 to open the tooth up on my first visit, he was going to charge $1180 for the actual root canal. $1430 is insane. He then said "I'll call you later and bring you back, I don't have time for this now, I was 15 minutes late . In the first appointment he was very aggressive when numbing me and I was crying in the chair just from how forceful he was, he then said I was being dramatic and it didn't hurt that bad. I have an insanely high pain tolerance and there's no physically possible way how he handled me was normal. He didn't explain anything to me at all, just said "come back in 2 weeks". After leaving there I called another specialist and paid $650 for the full root canal, he was gentle and kind and I felt next to no pain, this is how I know Dr. Aivaz was likely not gentle with me because he just didn't like me. Do not ever go here, the man is a butcher and has horrible chair side manner. read more

Irma (sorry if I spelled it qrong) and Brittany were top notch. Polite, professional. I have anxiety at dental offices due to a really bad experience as a kid. Irma was super helpful, caring. The two dentist I worked with, a female and then the main doctor, Dr. Aivaz, were nice enough to ignore my tears of anxiety and explain the process to me. I was able to wear ear buds for music (Hamilton Soundtrack saves the day) and i got the root canal done with 3 songs. The only sucky part was the numbing needle, but even that was tolerable. I still have anxiety, but a little less noq hopefully moving forward. Really appreciate this office andnhow speedy they were in seeing me and professional they were in handling my craziness. Dr. Aivaz was so professional and so good at what he does..
