i have always had thick eyebrows with a medium arch. the lady i usually go to was not there. i showed her a reference photo of how i wanted them to look, they were supposed to be same thickness and medium arch. she took off way too much and now my eyebrows are super thin and uneven... i am in CRISIS. i told her they were too thin and that is not what i wanted and she kept saying for the arch i want, this is how they're supposed to be. i will NEVER come back here again read more

Henna application was good however it would have been nice if the person who made my appointment by phone disclosed that most people pre mix their henna powder and bring that in AND the price for the henna does NOT include a cost for washing it out in the sink. I usually go to this place and have never had an issue but today I had to leave a bad review because the lady who did my eyebrows today did a horrible job. I usually have someone else, but I don't recognize this person, I wonder if she's new. I've never been so upset with how my eye eyebrows look at my life. And I am not a picky person. All I asked was for a cleanup. And she took off half of my eyebrow to the point where I look like. I'm raising one eye eyebrow at all times. My first corny sentence aside, I come here whenever I'm in town for work. They take walk-ins, are fairly priced, and are fast. Remember to bring a few extra dollars for tip because they only take cash tips (I always forget and want to make sure others don't). The women who have threaded me here have never over-done my eyebrows and leave their natural shape while also threading them down enough that my face is nicely shaped by my brows. I wish I could give them a better review, but my experience was just ok. Price is great compared to other city prices. I just wasn't too pleased with the actual service. Don't get me wrong, they are nice, but I wish she actually listened to what I wanted. I've been to plenty of threading places before and they all can give me the shape of brow I want. With here, she kept saying that my eyebrows won't look right if I go thinner. I don't like the fact that they do one brow, and show me what it looks like before doing the other one. It makes me look all lopsided. Also, with other threading places, my eyes weren't completely red and rashy like here after it was finished. I felt like she gave me rug burn (but with a thread). She rubbed on my skin so hard that it was a bit uncomfortable. One thing I know about my eyebrows is that they do grow in differently (left is different than my right), but other places were able to trim them a certain way to get them to match. She treated each eyebrow separately. :-( So, at the end of the day, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. read more

I guess I've been coming to Aisha's for over 4 years now. Threading is the only way I get my brows done, so Aisha's is a great reason to head into the city. It's right on Walnut, near the bus, a short walk from trains, and right between Center City and UCity if you want to walk! I've never had to wait more than 20 mins for a walk-in appointment, and they work quickly on everybody. It seems like threading is the only work people get done here all the time (I've noticed a few waxing appointments as well) Consistently I come out with even eyebrows, and the perfect thickness for me. I suppose a few times in the past, I've asked them to grab a few more hairs, but for a place with a student discount option, accepting debit and credit cards for threading, and convenience, I'm perfectly happy placing all of my eyebrow needs in their hands until I move out of the city and I find another go-to spot! read more

I don't exactly know why but every time I'm sitting and waiting for my turn to be threaded, I have the same debate in my head: should I buy those shoes in the display? Anyways this place is quick even when you arrive as a walk-in. Environment is clean and the staff is friendly. Though threading can be a little painful depending on the area of the body, the ladies work so fast that it's over before you know it. Recovery time is rather instant - my skin is only irritated for a couple of minutes and then I'm good. read more

I'm very picky about the shape of my eyebrows and I'm glad to say I've found my go to place in Philly. I was sick of going to different eyebrow places and asking them to just clean it up and not make it thin but those eyebrow women would decide that they determine what looks good on my face. Well not anymore because the women at Aisha know that your natural shape is what should be enhanced. If you have straight brows, keep them straight. Don't get an unnatural arch. They will just remove what is absolutely necessary to make my eyebrows look clean. It's very good for $11. They have other services like waxing, facials and henna for a very affordable price. I would want to give these a try sometime. If you're coming for a facial, don't expect a quite relaxing place. They only have a curtain between the main room where they thread eyebrows and the inside room for waxing and facials. Tips are cash only. read more

Wow, I never say that in a negative tone.... but wow. I RARELY ever write negative reviews, but this place was a huge disappointment. Their website/yelp page says they take walk ins... so I arrived at this location to get my brows threaded at 6:45 PM. They close at 7:30 PM, the door was shut and I went to open it and I noticed it was locked. I was confused because I saw people inside, so I lightly knocked. An employee answered the door and rudely said we're closed then slammed the door in my face. It's sad because I have gone here before and they do a decent job with threading. It's one thing to be closed earlier than listed business hours, but being rude was completely unnecessary. Safe to say, I won't be back. read more

The whole procedure took 2.5 hours. That's the longest installation for eyelash extensions I have ever experienced. My lashes are sparse and it takes 3 coats of mascara to make them visible on a " It's a special occasion " level. These extensions elongated them and nothing more. Still sparse and barely visible. Not worth $100. Custom service was nice, but product is weak. read more

Solid place for eyebrows. Customer service might not be great - but they do a decent job, are hygenic and $11 for eyebrow threading is fine for me. PSA to any non-POC: Don't expect anything amazing. In my experience, bringing in pictures for "inspiration" don't help. I just walk in, sit down and ask them to "clean up only" and trust them with the rest. I am new to the Philly area and was in search of a great threading place, and this certainly was NOT it! I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 15 years now and have had 2 instances where they have been messed up and this was one of them. I asked for a clean up since I'm pretty good at cleaning them every 2-3 weeks figured I'd take my chances. I sat in the middle chair, when she was done after what seemed like 2 minutes (not ok) I looked in the mirror and wanted to CRY! SHE MADE THE RIGHT SIGNIFICANTLY MUCH THINNER THAN THE RIGHT!!!! Amateur mistake to let someone new touch my eyebrows. I have naturally thick brows and came in with an inspiration picture of a woman with thick but softly arched eyebrows. I don't care how affordable the threading here is... I am v sad (okay, slightly devastated bc I am being dramatic) to have left Aisha's today with very thinned out (like 1990s pencil thin on the end of one brow), uneven, and patchy brows. I've been coming here for a couple of years to get my eyebrows done. It's honestly a hit or miss with how my brows turn out. It's usually on the good side, but it's rather inconsistent. Reason for low rating, the staff are unfriendly, one of the women there is extremely rude and unprofessional. She seems like she doesn't want to be there. This isn't a one time encounter where she might've been having a bad day. It's every time I get her, she's very unfriendly, doesn't like getting instructions on what I want, and just makes me very uncomfortable. Time to find a better place. read more

Unprofessional and uneven threading. In the past, I have been happy with the threading here, but the last time I went it was terrible. I left with my eyebrows looking worse than when I came in. One eyebrow is very obviously thicker than the other eyebrow, which is far too thin and the shaping is sloppy and patchy (not the clean line you'd expect from threading). Once I was home I had to clean up stray hairs that were missed. So basically they took hair off of where it should be and left it where it shouldn't. On top of that, the service was very unprofessional. Excellent work! It was a very clean environment. Kind of pricey to me at $10 dollars, but they provide excellent service and we are most likely paying for the convenience of being in center city. The friendly techs always ask how I would like my brows before she even starts, which I can appreciate bc most places just lay you back while talking or being on the phone and start doing what they feel is best. Obsessed. I have never had my eyebrows done (I am a pluck junky) but after being on vacation I came home to realize I had a lot of brow! So I decided to stop in here ... boy was I glad I did. First off, the women here are so sweet. She was quick (about 20 mins total) and got all the hairs rather quickly and painlessly. She created a nice shape (worked with what I already had going on) and I look ever so slightly BETTER without being able to tell exactly what I did. I have SUPER sensitive skin, I was beet red for about an hour.. within 4 hours I was 100% normal looking. I LOVE THE RESULTS. My fiance came home and said "you look pretty, you do something different?" She also trimmed the hairs and put on toner. It looks so good. $11 for that is WELL worth it. Walk in mid day had no wait, not sure about the weekends or after work. To find: after you pass Rittenhouse Square, look on the right for a green awning with 2017 on it.... best way to find it. Best brows! I am very particular about my brows (not too thin, clean, perfectly shaped) and these girls give you exactly what you ask for - most importantly they give you a great shape without making it TOO THIN - a problem I've had at every other eyebrow threading salon. It may take a couple weeks of going back and growing out certain parts but in their capable hands you'll have perfect eyebrows within a month or so (in my experience) Usually little to no wait and pleasant waiting area. The girls are very nice and treat customers well. Also not as pricey as many other places in the area that offer similar services. As an Indian with bushman eyebrows, I highly recommend this spot for the best threading you won't be able to live without. The woman who did the threading was very friendly and assured me that I'd be fine. First off, BEST eyebrow experience I've ever had. Great and fast. They use cotton thread which is a plus so it doesn't feel like the thread is slicing your brow. Unfortunately I don't remember what girl k had but she did an amazing job. Even brows :). And she was super fast which is a bonus because I don't like sitting in a chair for 10 mins holding my eyebrow. I used to go to Zara to get a touch up when I couldn't go to my usual place near my parent's house in MD. I had a bad experience there and am so relieved I found Aisha's Threading Salon. It was $10 for eyebrows and she (the owner) really paid attention to the fact that I prefer to not go too thin, but I like to have a slight arch. She was also friendly and professional.
