The food is a meal n tasty but light on the stomach free guilt-free after consume the entire purchase

Although the service sucks and the employees can be very rude and nasty (especially the lady), I have been here quite a few times and have tried a few things on the menu. The honey wings are pretty good but can be overly saucy (too sweet). The past few times I've ordered their wings, they have been very hairy and inedible. The lo mein and fried rice are very average. The dumplings were so disappointing. I did not enjoy them at all. They don't even properly close containers and send you home with food and sauces spilling out all in the bag. Stopped in to order some food with my toddler and school aged kid. The lady at the counter was very standoffish and unfriendly at the beginning of the transaction. I can excuse this because of the time of the day. Food cost was more expensive than usual, but then again, this is the world we live in now. The food was your standard fare. I ordered fried shrimp and I can tell by the flavor that it's the mass produced frozen product. That was disappointing. I didn't enjoy the flavor of the shrimp and will not be ordering again. In fact, I disliked it so much that the next day I decided to make real homemade buttermilk fried shrimp and that was world's better than the shrimp I bought here the day before. They are probably known for other dishes and I may try them again but right now, it's a no from me. read more

Called for a delivery order at 5pm. I get a text message at 5:32 saying my food is here. I waited for over 30 mins, I called them 4 times, every time they say I'll call the driver and call back. They never called back !!! I called at 6 pm and told them to cancel. They call me at 6:02 saying they will not cancel or refund me. Then driver calls me and I told him I already canceled. Then they call me again harassing me to accept the food !!! Unbelievable read more

My wife and I purchased an order of garlic wings with egg fried rice and chicken w Broccoli w garlic sauce & 2 uptown teas. When getting home we notice that there was BIG FLY floating inside one of the uptown tea. We contacted the store and spoke with manger who did nothing to help us. There is not much variety in this area of Newark, however, this Chinese Halal restaurant is a breath of fresh air. They offer both white steamed rice, brown, and fried rice which can be hard to come across. I was feeling a vegetarian meal so I opted for the crispy tofu in garlic sauce which came accompanied with an assortment of vegetables (carrots, squash, broccoli, and green beans) and steamed white rice. You can find a great deal here with their lunch special pricing, so definitely come before 3pm to take advantage. I'll be coming back, but will want to try a seafood option as well as a chicken option on my next visit. read more

Patrons beware! The food is delicious, but if you order delivery with a credit card the driver is directed by the owner to take a picture of your license/ID and the last four digits of your credit card. This is not a professional practice. I understand the need to verify the card and check ID, but taking pictures crosses the line. I called to voice my concerns, they insisted I was told that when I ordered, but I most certainly was not. I would not have placed the order had I known. It's very upsetting that I was put in the position upon the arrival of my order. Had my family not been waiting for dinner, I would have sent it back. My brother who has been coming here for a couple of years recently ordered a whole cheesesteak sandwich and soda to be delivered. He planned on sharing this with his girlfriend. When he opened the bag it was only half a sandwich. When he called the restaurant to ask why he only got half a sandwich and paid for a whole sandwich, they said, "We gave you double meat". I ordered last night for the first time and I will say that the fried rice was delicious. I am perfectly familiar with Uncle Ben products and it is by far my favorite rice even over traditional brown rice, basmati or jasmine which are also my top favorites. The sesame chicken and general tso was very tasty and fresh. The sesame chicken had just the right amount of spice to it. First I placed an order through online I called to confirm the order There an hour later I get a call that the guys downstairs I go downstairs and he's not there I called him he tells me he's around the corner on the opposite side of my building I ask him to come upstairs which I paid three dollars for as I am sick and he couldn't even get around the corner then he proceeded to not want to take my card info and drive off with my food after being charged. Was visiting the hospital nearby and found this spot on the way after work. Chinese food as expected. Tasted good. It's Newark so people were hanging out in the place and outside -normal. The owner, im guessing, said salaam as she was leaving and was very nice and had a warming attitude. read more

Great food. Doesn't seem like the nicest neighborhood so may be worthwhile to go during daytime hours but the food is great and prices aren't bad. The people were super nice too. Let us pray there. Good halal food. read more
