Softwave Tissue Regeneration Therapy…read more I was having issues with recurring sciatic nerve pain on my left side, in addition to some type of tissue injury in my left knee caused by a trip/fall. An orthopedic specialist referred me to a pain management clinic. From past experiences, I knew that a regiment of steroid shots and physical therapy would not resolve my issues. During a chiropractic appointment, I spoke with Dr. Travis about my newest pain, and he suggested I try a new technique he recently started offering: Softwave TRT. It is a therapy program that involves 8 sessions of high energy sound waves being transmitted into the tissues in and around the problem areas. This technique basically helps the physical body speed up its natural healing process without drugs. It generally takes up to 12 weeks before the body completes its healing process. Everything that Dr. Travis recommended for other issues has worked out in my favor, so I scheduled appointments for both my lower back and my left knee. He focused on my lower back (sciatic nerve area) first, and it was 90% pain free within four to five sessions. My knee took a little longer to become pain free, simply due to my feeling better and being overactive physically on a family vacation. Professional Medical Care Spoiled by Awful Administrative Practices!…read moreThe administrative staff changed my assigned doctor after my PCP submitted the referral, creating a two-week delay. When I called to clear up their mistake, the scheduling clerk became belligerent and blamed me for the error. I asked for a supervisor and was left on hold(10 minutes) until exactly 5:00 PM. when someone picked up the line just to hang up on me, with absolutely no call back. Note: A bright spot occurred the next day when a competent staff member called back, fixed the error, and confirmed my appointment time. The clinical side was fine. I arrived 10 minutes early as requested, completed my paperwork, and met with the physician. We successfully agreed on a treatment plan, including medications and an injection surgery. After scheduling my surgery and follow-up, the office staff THEN informed me of a $75 cash deposit or credit card hold, solely to secure the appointment against a possible future cancellation. This predatory pricing practice forces patients to take ALL the financial risk for scheduling. But does nothing about the double or triple booking practices that keep us waiting 15- 30 60 minutes past our scheduled time. They penalize patients upfront, yet offer no compensation for their own scheduling errors, long wait times, or hanging up on clients. While I cannot directly admonish the doctor(he jsut works there) and he seemed to be competent, the administrative hostility, lack of professionalism, and predatory upfront credit card holds make this practice impossible to recommend. Proceed with caution or better yet just keep driving.
