Got diagnosed with vertigo last week. Dr Payne did some neck adjustments and after a few days I felt so much better. He is pleasant and really seems to listen to your body. I'd recommend this office. The front staff are also great and helpful. read more

What a wonderful Chiropractor Dr. Payne is. A little over a year ago I had lower back issues. After a number of visits, my back was as good as ever. A year later, my back started up again, could barely walk and today back on the golf course. Yes, he is very good but he must have an excellent support team. The three individuals who welcome you to the office, check your medical coverage and schedule you for your next appointment. Now to my favorites, the 3 women who love to inflict pain, on this guy's body. Actually, they are the ones who spend time rubbing out the tightness and muscle spasms you have. They are AWESOME! These ladies remembered me from a year ago and they surprised me on one of my visits with a birthday cake. If you need to see a chiropractor, this is definitely the office to visit. read more

You show up early but will wait 30 min post appt time to be seen. If you run 10 min late, you won't be seen. The new patient deal posted alll over the internet only applies if you ask for it and are specifically told you will be given it. Otherwise you will be charged full price and you have nothing to say about it. Deceptive practices in billing translates to deceptive doctors so we closed our accounts. Save your wallet and patience. The chiropractor was knowledgeable but he wasn't strong enough to adjust my back. I'm 6'2" 225. That size should be manageable. What really got to me was when he'd attempt an adjustment to my lower back and then try to convince me that there was any type of movement. A career in gaslighting at one of the news stations may have been a better career than chiropractic care. The rest of the staff seemed disinterested. The massages felt slightly above what my cat could do and that's only because she has claws, otherwise it's the cat all day long. Hands down, paws up. And of course this review wouldn't be complete without giving a shout out to the absolute rudest receptionist in all of Bastrop TX. including, but not limited to all law enforcement, hospitals, social service, detention facilities, you name it, that dude is the worst! Why two stars?? The chiropractor did offer some knowledge, it's just too bad he couldn't execute the game plan. read more

I have been to a few chiropractors in the past and let me tell you. The Hispanic male staff that works the front desk is rude, disrespectful, the tone of voice he uses when speaking with a customer is embarrassing. I work in EMS and have never seen that kind of attitude towards a patient. The X-ray tech didn't even ask me if I had jewelry on, so I had two X-rays taken because the lack of care and attention to detail. The lady's in the front were awesome and very knowledgeable. As for the adjustment....I didn't expect my adjustment to be so short, I can spend 40 and have my friends pop my back the same way. Not much was done.. If you have pain, I would be cautious when booking, only book on days the male at the front desk isn't working. :) read more

I have no idea what I did but I couldn't sit for any length of time. I could stand or lay down and that was still excruciating. I called and they squeezed me in that day, thank god. Every adjustment made me feel better and I was back to myself in no time, thanks to them. The front staff, back staff and Dr Payne were always welcoming and kind. I have crappy insurance and they set up a package deal so I could see them repeatedly with the best prices. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

This chiropractic experience has been horrible. FYI the call center for the Bastrop location rolls over to the south Austin location. The first time I made an appointment, my call had apparently rolled over (unbeknown to me) and no one mentioned that I wasn't speaking with the Bastrop location, nor did they ask which location I was booking with. The morning of my appointment, I called to confirm and as I was on my way, they did not have me scheduled because the call center had booked me at another location. The front desk staff at the Bastrop location is equally as unhelpful as the staff at the other location I spoke with. Dr. Payne was nice and seemed to be thorough but his staff made the first experience a bad one. I decided to give them a second try and again, in scheduling on the phone no one mentioned that Dr. Payne was on vacation and a Dr. Stowell would be filling in. First of all, I had to wait nearly 20 minutes before seeing her. This woman rushes into the room, doesn't ask a single question about my history or what dr. Payne had been working on, etc. she glances at the computer asks if I'm there for a tune up and starts cracking. Her "adjustments" did not adjust a single thing. Nothing popped. She said that her techniques don't always produce a pop. At the same time, she was ROUGH. She was jerking my neck back and forth telling me to relax. All in all she was in and out of my room in 3 minutes. I felt the exact same leaving that office as I did walking into it. Going into the trigger point therapy I told the therapist that I did not feel properly adjusted and she told me "Dr. Payne will be back tomorrow. You could always come back tomorrow." Thank you so much... I'll drive over again and pay for another adjustment tomorrow, sounds great. Could've saved myself the cost of the visit and the drive to Bastrop. This practice needs to step up their customer service, bedside manner and communication skills. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more
