What I thought was maybe only a capacitor turned out to be a blown fuse in the attic and a broken contactor. Capacitor was working but had a low reading so got all 3 replaced in one swoop. Work was done quickly and at every step Benjamin went out of his way to test everything to make sure it was working as well as explain to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. Just like the last time we needed him (several years ago now), Benjamin was QUICK to respond, and was able to schedule a visit to figure out what was going wrong with our AC. Benjamin was able to quickly diagnose the problem and offer several options (valve leak - sadly it's not a matter of if, but when... ). Unfortunately for us, repair of our old AC was not a cost-effective alternative (old obsolete refrigerant), so we had to go with the replacement route. Benjamin worked with us to match us to what we wanted and what he thought was best for us, and then was able to move quickly to remove the old unit and replace with the new! Our outdoor A/C condenser unit fan wasn't working so I contacted a few HVAC companies via Yelp. Airotech popped up and messaged me right away giving me availability on a Saturday morning. I was happy to grab the earliest slot as I had plans later in the day. Benjamin was quick to communicate and give me a heads up when he was on his way. When he arrived, I explained the issue. He looked at my unit and told me it could be a few things. He asked if I had tried the breakers and I said I did. He asked about the air filter and I said it was a reusable filter that is washed and reused regularly. He asked to see the breakers and I showed him. He opened up the air condenser and he said he needed to change out the capacitor and the contact which had gone bad. Once he was in there, he realized my unit wasn't getting the right amount of electricity so he recommended that I contact an electrician to come out to look at the wiring. Once he finished replacing the parts in my unit, he apologized for not being able to finish his diagnostic due to the lack of electricity. I had an electrician come out today and sure enough, after the electrician checked the electrical going to my unit, he was able to diagnose the issue. He ran a new line from the house to the A/C unit and it's working again. Thanks to Benjamin for coming out on a Saturday to help us and even though he didn't get the A/C to work due to the electrical issue, he did replace some parts that needed replacing. Thankfully, the electrician was able to fix the line going to the unit. Benjamin arrived on time and was able to explain everything to me and what was needed. We are repeat customers of Benjamin. He first came out about 2 years ago to address an issue with our AC blowing hot air. I found him straightforward, knowledgeable, and reasonable. So when we had the same issue again, I knew exactly who to call. Once again, Benjamin did not disappoint.
