After having been a customer of Airnex Communication's long distance plans for five years, I realized they have been billing me incorrectly since 2005. They have been charging several dollars over the actual usage on the bill, coming up with a randomly generated number. When I discovered this error and told them I was cancelling my account and requesting a refund, I was told that there was a more "accurate" billing system the could use to bill me. However, that did not win me over, as I had just gone through many of my bills (thankfully, I had saved a bunch from previous years) and seen the errors they had made. It seemed pretty shady. Then, I went to the BBB and saw they had 20+ complaints about problems with billing, and I knew this was not just a one-time thing, but some kind of systematic problem. Therefore, if you are looking to make low-cost international calls, I would go with Google Voice and save your money. read more

They scammed my mother in law claiming she's calling herself from her house number to her mobile number and charged her $20 a month. When she called to complain the lady was rude saying she's mistaken and that nothing could be done. When my mother in law asked if they could look into it and hold the charges (usually auto debited on 20th) the lady said no and said they already charged her (on the 8th). She then hung up on my mother in law. My mother in law tried to email them to cancel because they said it has to be in writing and their email bounced. She had me look into their company and no surprise I see these awful revisits. Pls complain to BBB too if you've been scammed by them. read more

The worst type of scammers! They did not supply service, but instead engaged in predatory practices, threats and bogus accounting. To make it worse, this is all targeted at an elderly immigracnt lady. She tried to call the Ukraine from CA, and *never once made a connection* - but was charged dozens of minutes - sometimes as much as 15 minutes per call! But no service was provided - no call was completed. And then when we complained, they immediately resorted to calling late at night (after 9pm) and threatening to ruin her credit if she didn't pay immediately! I had spoken earlier in the day with a customer service rep who promised to waive the late fee and to lodge our complaint. Apparently the response was this threatening nightime call (and of course, they won't waive any fees - directly contradicting what we had been told a few hours earlier. I wish you had a zero star rating. This company cooks the books. I tried to fax two pages to two numbers. The calls were never completed due to the fact that my old fax machine did not work on the digital network. How long could it take to fax two pages that did not go through even though multiple attempts were made? Well, according to Airnex's invoice, each failed call ranges from 1 to 12 minutes. Not only that, its invoice also lists non-existing calls, supposedly made by my disconnected fax machine when I was in another state. The multiple failed calls took no more than twenty minutes, but they became more than two hundred minutes on Airnex's invoice. When told that the customer was never informed of the almost sevenfold rate hike (from 5 cents per minute to 33 cents per minute), the customer service rep claimed that customers were informed by email. I told her that I had never received it in my email. Her response was that I might have deleted the email, which is not true, because I have never deleted my email. This company obviously is engaged in fraudulent criminal activities. read more

I have downloaded my Verizon talk activity file and found that I made only 7 calls. My real short calls are not listed, but replaced by 10 - 30 min fiction calls! Also, a horrible quality of service! I was not able to make any call during few days, when it was a real family emergency. No way to contact their customer support. I happened to check my balance on line. It showed an overdue unpaid balance of $0.59 and late charges may apply. I emailed Airnex and they responded that they do not send statements if the balance is below $2.00. How will I know that I have a balance if they do not send the statements and yet the nerve to state that they will charge late fees!!!! Secondly, they billed me incorrectly! I checked the rates on two statements and they are all higher than what it should be. I called them and they adjusted it to the correct amount. I AM CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT. read more

Do not use Airnex Communications for your Long distance or International calls. I have been using them for over two years and we have been billed incorrectly and been charged for the calls we never made. Very inconsistent billing system and they will charge you a lot of fees. When I canceled my service I was told that my balance due was $4.20, so we sent them a check and canceled that damn service. got a call a week later stating that we need to pay $5 more because there was a billing problem..... I told them I wont pay. now after a month, I just got a call from their offshore call center, and they were asking me to pay $18 fees.... the whole business is a scam. I am not sure who runs this business but they need to pull their acts together and try to run a honest business instead. stay away from them! For your International and long distance calls I will say Airnex is the best. I have been using Airnex service for more than 9 months and I have no problem at all. I have checked the old posts and complaints regarding the bills and charges which make me worried I looked to all my invoices but I have not seen any wrong charges. Their rates are great and the quality of the line is acceptable. So far I have referred to Airnex 7 of my friends and all are using the service and happy. They charged me twice for the same calls. They would not credit the overcharge back to credit card. They only offered a credit on the account for the future use, but I do not want to use them, as they became very expensive. They doubled the rates without a single warning. They do not show the rates on their website, so to know the rates you have to call them. read more

I have been with them for years. In my opinion, the customer service has always been awful, but the low 6 cents per minute rate with no monthly fee made it a good deal. Now, for my in state toll calls, the rate is now almost 19 cents per minute. And here is something else I did not like and, in my opinion, is rather shady. Their billing department called me and asked for payment of a bill that had not even reached me yet. They admitted that they had just mailed the bill out. When this guys called me about a year ago, they initially gave me pretty good international rates. But in three months when I decided to check my bills as they seemed pretty high I realized they were charging me much higher rates then promised over the phone. The first time I called them and talked to the customer service person they apologized and gave me the credit for the overpaid amount. When the exactly same situation happened again, they told me this was their current rate and they were not giving any credits. I've been planning to disconnect my service but got so busy that I never got a change to do it. I just checked my last bill again and realized that they increased the rate even more. This company does beyond shady business and the interesting thing is that when I told the customer service people that, on two different occasions, neither of them denied it or defended the company. I've been with them for a few years, but i don't make too many international and long distance calls, so my bill is usually pretty low so i haven't been checking my bill. the other reason for my ignorance is that my bills are via electronic delievery and usually their website has issues and i cant open my bill to view (now i know that's probably on purpose too). their customer service phone numbers have long wait times, so it hasn't been worth it for me. so i let it go. the reason i started checking was because for some reason they sent me a paper bill acouple of months ago and then i noticed they had charged me for a few phone calls i hadn't made. when i called them they said they would not charge me and would actually refund me for some past mistakes as well. to my surprsie my credit card was chaged again and there was no credit on my account. after this i checked my parents bills who use them too and make a lot more calls and they were always chaged a few cents above the rates and on one of the bils, the actual numbers didn't add up to the total number. when i pointed it out to airnex, they said it was a computer glitch. that never happens with such a simple calculation, unless the computer is from 50 years ago!! what amazes me is that even though i point blank told them they were cheating me, they didn't even try to fix it, they think they are invincible and they can get away with what ever they do. which is sadly true. it doesn't seem anybody is stopping them. i jsut checked on BBB and they have so many complaints but the government or anybody else hasn't done anything about it. I just realized today that they added up 10 dollars more to my bill for this month. An extra charge they claim that is in the terms and conditions of the contract that does NOT appear on the billing statement. Supposedly one pays that for the good quality of the service. I have been a loyal customer to them for more than 8 years. The voice quality is great and the phone service has been great. But this has really upset me. Otherwise I would have given them 4 stars and probably never written this comment at all. I will stop using them from now and on. Be careful with the statements and read them carefully. They have always charged me when I call a number even there is no answer. I would like to begin by stating that I am an 89 year old veteran of the Second World War and I can honestly say that in my twenty years living in this country I have never felt more disrespected than during the conversation that me and my wife had with Airnex manager Nicholas. I had tried several times to contact the company's customer service department after discovering that the monthly bills which I was receiving were not accurate; I was being overcharged by a few dollars each month, dollars that I must factor into our monthly budget. After finally getting the company's manager Nicholas on the phone I tried to explain my situation and was overwhelmed by the level of disrespect and contempt that he showed to me and my wife. He began by accusing us of being penny pinchers who should know by now that prices in America are on the rise; "don't you walk into a store", he asked. He then told me to "go to hell" and after my wife picked up the phone to ask him where he got the nerve to talk to an elderly customer in such a manner, Nicholas proceeded to shout that he already had two morons like them at home. Finally he proceeded to call my wife a moron and hung up the phone. This is customer service? Naturally I will be finding a new telephone service provider and will never use Airnex again; however I earnestly don't want businesses like Airnex to flourish in this country. read more
