The place was locked up like Fort Knox! We left the unit a few days early in our final month and we were pro-rated, not having to pay the full amount. A rare occurrence in many businesses where you pay month to month! The units seem new. They are all so clean and up to date. They stole all my sports equipment and items of incredible sentimental value that are irreplaceable. After we reported the matter to the police, the response from Public Storage was, firstly, and most insultingly, that the incident never happened. Then they suggested that I was responsible for the loss. The thieves were in the storage unit for HOURS on a date between Christmas and New Year's. We have a description of them provided to the police and some of our replaceable items were found by police. In spite of all of this, Public Storage's response has been defensive and indifferent. Rent a storage somewhere else.

The credit card I had on file expired at the end of 2023 and I was enrolled in autopay which unfortunately meant I wasn't checking this every single month. It took around 1.5 months for me to realize the card had expired & therefore payments weren't going through. StorageMart has all your contact info on file but will only attempt to let you know through letters in the mail which I, unfortunately, did not receive. They, however, would have been notified about this by the "Return to Sender" letters they got back. Although, I will note that this information is in their fine print; it is the renters responsibility to make sure payment is made... fine. If I had been any more delayed in discovering this information, my things would have been auctioned off as the facility had already removed MY lock from the unit. Of course, I was charged for them destroying this & then expected to purchase a new one. I could have paid for my things to stay at a motel with heat & running water for a few months after racking up insane fees + the extreme late penalties (around $550 EXTRA). I'll say the motel would have been preferable to the tiny- poorly insulated garage-shack I was actually paying for. They also provide you minimal notice regarding extreme monthly rent increases (the most recent was $70 more per month). Entirely focused on making money, not interested in providing a good product or good service. Would not recommend. Luckily, have removed my things.

I would use this storage facility again if I needed one. I sympathize with the person complaining about the costumer service rep who said they could cancel anytime with no fees and no penalty. However, I suggest that they should have read the contract before signing it. In the end, people who sign contracts are responsible to read and know for themselves what they are signing. Even if it takes a long time to read through the legal jargon, we should all read contracts, ask questions for clarification, and then, if we agree, sign them. I know this can be a lengthy process, but it is the only way to know for sure what you are getting yourself into.

Keith from ALERO (Affliated with North American Van Lines), provided us with the original estimate. He personally came to our Condo and listed all the items prior to providing the estimate. We also worked with 4 other companies, but their businesses were either sketchy or price was too high. In the end we settled with ALERO, and sure glad we did. We had heavy furniture and a few fragile pieces to move. They were very professional and packed everything carefully - nothing was damaged or broken. They were on time and within the window to deliver as originally quoted. Don't look anywhere else if you are looking for short to longer distance moving. You can really trust Keith and ALERO! The 3 man moving crew only had one experienced mover and other two appeared like it was their first time moving, Crew didn't place boxes in proper rooms despite being told specifically by me and also boxes clearly marked resulting in me having to move almost a 1/3 of the boxes up and down 3 flights by myself. The crowning experience was when I complained to management/Keith he barely said he was sorry. Cant recommend this company anymore as they just didn't appear to care.
