Two word review: Honest, Responsive…read more This is my THIRD consecutive 5-star review for Rocklin Heating & Air. In the last 10 or so years in the area I've called RHA, one other place because they could get me to faster - had a bad experience, waited for RHA had an amazing experience, and decided they're going to be my ride-or-die for HVAC. I called them at 7am and by 11:30am their tech had fixed and tested everything and off to help someone else. Yesterday was the start of a heat wave and ... our AC unit quit on us. I called RHA as soon as they opened this morning at 7am, asked for Joe in particular, and they gave me a window between 10am and 12pm. Joe texted ahead of time at 10:30, diagnosed the blown capacitor, swapped it out, cleaned things up a bit, tested the coolant, answered a bunch of questions, and was on his way in just under an hour. The diagnostic was $129 and the capacitor was $186 today. By a complete and total coincidence, I had been running some experiments with home temperature sensors for the last week. You can literally see on these pictures exactly when the AC unit stopped working - and when RHA saved our bacon. The "other" place I called years ago only had a $79 diagnostic charge, but wanted to rip out and replace the entire HVAC system - and claimed we were taking our lives in our own hands by not getting it fixed with him immediately. Joe and RHA took care of everything for the diagnostic. Yeah, you can probably find someplace to charge you less for the diagnostic or maybe less for the part, but when your house is boiling hot / freezing cold, you want to be able to call on someone you can trust to help you out - and not take you for a ride.

They were able to get someone scheduled immediately for the next day! So, earlier this morning, our technician (Frank) called with a heads up for his arrival and showed up right on time. He was very polite and got to work right away. Turned out to be a bad capacitor. Frank had everything we needed in his truck and was able to swap it out in no time. At that time, they told me the work I was considering was not urgent, even though it meant I did not move forward with the project. They responded very quickly and had Alex D. at our house by 8:30 that evening, only about an hour after I contacted them. Alex was excellent. He found an issue that had somehow been missed by another HVAC company that had been performing routine annual inspections on our system. He was courteous, respectful, informative, and very genuine throughout the entire visit. He explained what he was seeing in a way that was easy to understand, answered all of our questions, and made sure we were comfortable before doing any work. We never felt pressured or like we were being sold something we did not need. Alex clearly takes pride in his work and in making sure the customer understands what is happening. After both experiences with Cronus, they have definitely earned our trust and will be the company we call moving forward.

American Energy Home Pros is a great company and they now are offering plumbing repairs as well. I…read morecalled them today because my water heater was leaking water and I thought I would have to completely replace the whole unit. They sent their Plumber Anthony out the same afternoon and he was able to repair the leak which was in a waterline and I did not have to replace the whole water heater. He could very easily have told me I needed a whole new unit, but he was so honest and told me it only needed a repair which save me a lot of money. I highly recommend this company. I met with the owner Mathew McGuire, who I found to be friendly, sincere, and someone who is vested in his business, his people, and working to ensure that he wins life-long customers with every job. I had done a lot of research with AI, so I knew my options well (that research was very helpful and I'd highly recommend doing it in advance of having people out to give you pricing). I had no intention of beating up each of the companies, I simply asked for their best pricing and options. I used AI to carefully review each bid in detail, including the proposed equipment and how appropriate it was for our home. All companies gave solid bids, but there was a very large spread between the highest and lowest. That usually concerns me, but all my research about American Energy indicated that they were a solid, competitive company. It was a big investment, but I ended up converting to an electric heat pump and also getting all our ducting replaced. We have a 2750 sf single-story home with 17 vents, so the new ducting was nearly as much as the system itself. That said, the ducting has made so much difference in terms of balancing the temperature throughout the house, which was a real probelm with the old system. The new system is extremely quiet and maintains a consistent temp throughout the day--and we've had some extremely hot days since it's been installed. American Energy's installers were all very friendly and professional, and did a great jobs with prep and clean-up each day they were here (the initial install took two days). There were a couple minor issues after the install was complete which required two follow-up appointments. One was a equipment issue that required Carrier to provide a replacement part, but Carrier was responsive and quickly provided it. For the additional follow-up appointments, their scheduling person as professional, courteous, and accommodating. In fact, she went out of her way over a weekend to re-schedule an appointment that was supposed to happen on a Monday morning. To me the company has to be a good one to A.) get that kind of diligence out of employees, and B.) to keep those kind of employees. In the end, I'm extremely happy with the system and will gladly subscribe for their annual maintenance contract.

He wasn't able to fix it so he came back the next day with a part that didn't fix the issue. Another part was ordered that took days to arrive. Finally Kevin's back but this part doesn't work either. Each time he came out, he tried so hard to get it working. Now it's a Friday after hours & he doesn't want to leave me without air so he keeps trying. I've never had anyone so determined to fix the issue & was able to get it working! I was so thankful & impressed with him. To top it off, I got a call a few days later saying they would be refunding me the first part that didn't fix it. I hope I never need their services again but if I did I'd definitely call them.

They were so responsive and helpful in 2022, even after hours, and now I've been trying to speak to someone for days, left multiple voicemails, sent multiple emails, and no one is calling me back. I came to the address listed on Vernon street and it's an empty building. I will see what else I can do but I feel so ripped off at this point I might just see what a lawyer says about this. Last time I spoke to them earlier this year, they said my unit was still under warranty but how does that even help if they won't call me back to fix it while the warranty is still valid? I asked about cleaning the AC condenser coil as well and was told that i would only receive a quote when a free estimate was provided on site. they had amazing availability and were able to come out in 30 minutes on the same day. When HVAC service person arrived, he quickly stated that thermostat install would be $110 each and ac condenser coil cleaning would be $150. He said if I didn't want service, then there would be a fee for onsite estimate. I quickly let him know this wouldn't fly and I only invited his company to my house based on the dispatchers quote. He quickly agreed to honor the quote given by the dispatcher. In order to avoid calling another company in for the AC condenser cleaning. i agreed to that service as well. The thermostats were installed easily in the same prior locations of the old thermostats. One was screwed into a weak area in the drywall and thus only held in place by one screw. I didn't notice on install, but was obvious and should have been noted by technician. Th AC Condenser cleaning took a total of 10 min. He vacuumed the inside ,sprayed it with a hose and sprayed something that looked like 409 cleaner in it. That service was definitely not worth $150 dollars Overall very average experience. Work was done promptly and timely. Hated having to repeatedly negotiate prices that were already promised. Given an extra star ( thus 3 star review) due to prompt same day availability and friendly service rep who acknowledged his need to sell additional services including an service maintenance package.

I was still receiving cold air but there was a musty smell. Thank goodness I found Miller and Stacey came out a few hours later. After he checked my unit he said the refrigerant was only down a lb and everything else was working fine. He suggested to replace the lb of refrigerant with a sealant and run the unit on the coldest setting for two hours. The musty smell was gone!! Stacey even told me that if the unit should have problems in the future he would apply what I paid him towards a new AC. WOW, what other company would offer that? When Stacy came out, we had been without AC for a week this July with temps reaching 100 degrees. He was able to quickly determine our blower motor was bad. He diligently looked for a replacement part, but our system is 25 years old and parts are no longer available for it. He gave us a very reasonable price for for replacing our HVAC system, and only recommended what we needed for our square footage, not something more expensive. Within a few days, we had a new system installed. Stacy was very thorough, honest, and professional. He answered all of our questions and we felt very comfortable with him and would recommend him highly!

Both are over thirty years old and the Freon used for the A/C Unit has been banned by the EPA.
