Couldn't honestly ask for a better experience--when I called initially about a balking first floor HVAC unit, I was walked through some simple diagnostics with the idea that "if we can solve it on the phone, you'll get it fixed immediately without any cost". What? An HVAC company that was focused on helping me and saving me money? I was absolutely floored. We found the possible issue, and I was walked through how to resolve it. Air Specialists was very upfront and recommended that I monitor the fix, and what to look for that indicated that the fix was starting to fail. The reason? That way they could come out if needed before things got out of hand (i.e. my house became an oven).
Sadly within two days, the warning signs started to appear--not surprising since the unit was almost 30 years old. Within minutes of calling Air Specialists again, they were at my front door and within 10 minutes (I kid you not), they had identified the issue and provided a variety of options for me to consider--without any pressure or hard sell. Instead, I was told exactly what was going on, how much each option would cost and how long it would take to perform. When I asked "what would you recommend", literally the first words were "well, we need to do what's right for you, so depending on your situation, here's what you can do..." and he gave me the pros and cons of each...again without any pressure or hard sell.
After I decided that ~30 years was about all I could expect from the unit, Air Specialists again provided me options to replace my existing unit...and talked through what would be right for my home. They then suggested that I could get back to them after I had a chance to get quotes from some other companies. Again, I was floored. Unbeknownst to Air Specialists, after they initially explained what might be wrong, I had already done my research...and identified the unit I thought was the best option. Turns out that the unit I was considering was the exact unit Air Specialists recommended. Almost feeling bad, that night I did call a few HVAC companies...and although one was less expensive, at the end of the day, I was more than happy to pay a little more based on how Air Specialists had treated me as a customer--their customer service was well worth the slightly higher fee.
Fast forward two years: came home today and noticed the unit was struggling to cool the house. So, I picked up the phone and called Air Specialists....who remembered exactly who I was and even details of an unrelated conversation I had about a detailer damaging my car. I explained the situation, and was immediately told "If it's ok, I can be over in 5 minutes." And five minutes later my doorbell rang. 15 minutes later the unit started to once again push out cold air (a clogged drain pipe was the culprit). Cost? $0. Air Specialists wouldn't take any money, even after I tried to insist.
If you need a knowledgeable, courteous, highly responsive, reputable, and honest HVAC specialist, you don't have to look any further. With all the contractors I've had working on my house, I've never had a better experience than I have had with Air Specialists...who I've decided are now my go-to HVAC team from here on out.
