I did a Google search and found Pasadena Appliance Repair Specialists, located less than a mile from me. Their only review gave them 5 stars, so I called them. They were very friendly on the phone. They offered to have someone come out the next day, but I had to schedule it for a few days later, to fit my schedule. The man showed up just 30 minutes into the 4-hour window they gave me. He diagnosed the problem almost immediately. He quoted the price for the part and labor, so I told him to go ahead. It turned out I didn't need the part after all; he was able to fix the problem by clearing a clog in a drain hose. He was at my apartment for maybe 30 minutes altogether. He left the place very clean - even used my vacuum to clean the dust and dirt from behind my refrigerator for me! I'm thrilled to add my own 5-star review. The price was reasonable and the service was wonderful! I will definitely call them again for any sort of appliance repair I need in the future. I highly recommend them!

Champion Appliance Repair was highly reviewed and so we called them. Very professional scheduler, who made us feel OK about the 4 hour window, even though we griped. Honestly though we got the appointment for the next day so that was a big plus and sealed the deal for us. Be advised there is a $40.00 visit fee but they will apply that towards repairs. The technician, named Davis, showed up well before the deadline. He was able to diagnose the problem and had the tools and parts to fix it on the spot. Very impressive. Got a call back the same day; got an appointment for a technician with the name Greg to come on 6/3 11-3PM. Greg showed up at 01:00 PM after a courtesy call that he is on his way. Greg came in and checked the dryer and said what part is needed to be ordered and the approximate cost. That's when I remembered to tell him that I had purchased a warranty. He told me I had to schedule with the warranty people first in order for him to get an authorization and a job order number. He very politely proceeded saying that it's fine and that I could get that later, and he continued checking on my washer and told me what is exactly needed for that one as well. He left without asking anything and reminded me to get the order number for him to get the parts at no cost for me! I mean, c'mon people! I call this fast and efficient, and truly deserving 5 stars. I even had a washer issue about a year ago and started to call them then but found a way to repair it myself and saved the fee for coming out and any parts charge they would have assessed. (That was a big deal for me, cause I'm an idiot when it comes to do it yourself stuff...true). About a month ago I had a problem with my oven and was not going to try to fix it myself cause of concerns about messing with a gas appliance. I even shopped around looking for Black Friday deals to replace the stove but it was not in the budget. I relented and called Kerr's just to get an estimate on what it might cost to repair my oven (if it could be repaired.) I even read the reviews here and was a little shocked at the comments because that was not my experience but things do change. The administrator who answered the phone was great. I even joked about the Yelp reviews and she was aware of them (guess the owners do read Yelp...I know I do!) She was kind enough to let me speak with a technician (Archie) and just by his tone I felt a level of trust (true). They ordered the part just in case and scheduled me a couple of days later. When Archie came out part in hand I was prepared to pay through the nose just in case the reviews were right, but after a few minutes he came out and said I have good news. He fixed it! No expensive part required and no crazy charges for labor! The point of this long review is to say Kerr's and specifically Archie, did what they said they were going to do; come out, assess the situation and fix my oven without taking advantage of this guy who can barely tie his shoes without looking at a YouTube video for guidance. I was very hesitant trying out anyone random on Yelp since I needed one right away. Tuesday morning, after speaking to at least four companies, based on their initial fee, response time, and availability, I'm so glad I went with Appliance Repair SFM. Jake was our technician and I was impressed how he quickly started to take apart the dryer and inspect what was wrong with it. I was anticipating the dreadful answer of buying a new one, and thankfully that wasn't the outcome. Jake showed me that the belt was worn out and the inside of the drum that had some type of plastic covering over the metal was gone and needed replacing, it also needed a good cleaning. Jake told me how much parts were plus labor, which was reasonable rather than buying a new dryer! Since he had to order parts, he would finish the project by Thursday or Friday and he gave me his business card if I had additional questions. I didn't hear from Jake on Wednesday, so I called him, and he picked up! He said the parts weren't in yet and he'd contact me on Thursday, which he did, in addition to setting up a time on Friday he'd come by to complete the project. In conclusion, Jake was a pleasure to work with. He's responsive, respectful, honest, and didn't try to upsell me on anything. I'd definitely contact him again if I do have other repairs needed.
