My mother contacted Air Force Heating and Air on Thursday, August 21st to inquire about repairs on the home's central air conditioning unit. Friday, August 22nd, Technician Ben was dispatched to diagnose the issue and complete the repair. The technician stated that the air conditioner's motor needed to be replaced. Sounded easy. Friday evening, after the installation of the new motor, the air conditioner stopped working. My mother contacted their office again concerning the air conditioning unit, referencing the earlier repair. Technician David was dispatched on Saturday, August 23rd to diagnose the problem. After analyzing the unit's contents and diagnosing the problems, Technician David stated that he could bring and install window units on Sunday, Aug 24th, while waiting on the parts to complete a second repair. A verbal agreement was reached confirming that David would return on Sunday morning between 8 and 10am to install window units. Technician David did not show at the agreed time on Sunday August 24th for the window unit installations and neither the Air Force Heating and Air office staff nor the technician contacted my mom for any explanation or update. My mother called the company office at approximately 11:30 to inquire about the window units and was informed that there were no window units available in their warehouse and a technician would be dispatched to the home on Monday, August 25th after window units could be secured. The weather in the area ranged from 85-87 degrees between Friday August 22nd and Sunday August 24th making it unreasonably warm in the home. Due to the heat, the residents were forced to leave the home and stay in a hotel room for comfort until the unit could be repaired. Upon speaking with my mother about the issue, I called Air Force Heating and Air to ask for pictures or documentation of the issues warranting a second repair. I received an invoice documenting the problems and the suggested repairs. Per Technician David's assessment and as documented on the invoice I received, his diagnosis stated the following: "the set screw was on the bottom of the system... two bolts holding up the motor had broken... fan blade bent in multiple places... copper had been sliced into by the fan blade... need to replace the fan blade, motor and copper then refill the system." Due to the poorly executed motor installation on Friday Aug 22nd and no show/lack of timely communication from Air Force Heating and Air on Sunday, August 24th, my mom had to use a different company for repair of the air conditioning unit. This string of events has eroded trust and confidence in the quality of service and professionalism of Air Force Heating and Air. We emailed the company on Aug 24th and were promised a call concerning a refund of the $762 spent and the hotel fee incurred. We were promised a call back. To date, no response. I don't believe that it's unreasonable to think anyone would view this time line as anything other than utterly unprofessional and neglectful. I would not recommend Air Force Heating and Air to anyone looking for quality or professional customer service. read more

Excellent and prompt service when the heat pump died during the 2025 freeze. Repairs were prompt.

They came our right away to check my furnace and and found I needed a new one. I was not surprised as mine was over 40 years old. I deceided to geat a new one and they came out the next day to install it. The guys that came were very nice and worked to finish installation of new one. The only problem was they needed to change it to propane instead of natural gas. It took a few days to get one but finally got it changed over. Now I have good heat and I am very happy. read more

I had the company come out to take a look at my clogged guest toilet back in January. During the service the technician damaged my wood flooring. The company asked for pictures which I sent to them they in turn sent someone out to look at the damages for a quote. I didn't hear anything back about it. I was finally able to contact a manager who asked me to get three quote. I was able to get one free one and I forwarded it to them. Nothing again then I spoke to a different manager who thought everything was taken care of and said he was sending over someone which he did nothing then when I contacted him again he was going to send a flooring contractor over to look at the damages the made an appointment but never showed up. I called again spoke to the manager texted him several more times now he says it's with Corporate. 6 months no resolution looks like a small claims court issue. read more

I didn't publish a review at the time, but today something happened that makes me wish I did, so now I will. In July of 2022 this company came out to my house in LaGrange, Georgia and quickly diagnosed a bad fan capacitor on my heat pump, which they replaced. The entire process took about 20 minutes. They charged me $400 for the part, which sells for around $100 online and elsewhere, and $85 for the service call. Today, Ace Air came out and also quickly diagnosed the problem, a bad fan capacitor (the one Air Force installed), and replaced it. The cost of the part? $30 with a $69 service call. How does a company that QUADRUPLES the prices of the parts they sell their customers stay in business? CAVEAT EMPTOR!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

June of 2020 Air Force Heating and Air gave me a quote for two new systems with a 10 year parts AND 10 years labor, this was the reason I went with them. After the install and they sent me the bill it was 10 years parts and 1 year labor. I talked to my salesman Tom Munro and he said it will be taken care of. I used them for the time for the checkups and cleaning but come Aug of 2024 we had a lightning strike by our house and I think it fried the board in our upstairs unit. After between trouble shooting and waiting for the board to come the tech finally showed up to replace it. That took over 3 hours for the tech to call carrier to troubleshoot and replace the main board. The tech gives me a bill with his labor cost. I said no this is part of the warranty; I showed him the quote but he said it was part of his bill from Air Force Heating and Air. I should have just not paid, but I figured I would just get the refund. That was my mistake here we are in January 2025 and all Mr. Tom Monro is saying is he is looking into it, or my request was in his junk mail or they are waiting on the check. They do ok work nothing great, and the after-hours call is a nightmare, just follow up with the AM shift. BUT do not expect for them to stand behind what they sell you. read more

I did not catch his name. he did not attempt to try to resolve the situation, but only be snarky and talk down to me. I don't know much about plumbing i do know a thing about showing up on a follow up visit with the proper equipment. a total of six visits surely at some point they will be able to fix a leaking pipe. given it is their pipes that they are having to fix. read more

I called Air Force Heating & Air's plumbing department. I had a leak in a pipe in the slab of my home and wanted a camera view. Other companies said they could not run a camera down the line because it was so small. Rotor rooter even stopped by returning from another job and said it was not possible. On the phone the Air Force plumber said something to the extent that he was hard headed and would try it. His camera would not go far. Next he pulled the dishwasher out and said the leak is there. I already knew there was a leak there because I had shown him the water coming through the bricks. I wanted a camera view to show me where it was in the pipe. All this cost just short of $500.00. We discussed rerouting the pipe on the outside. He said he would get an estimate within a day or two. I never heard back. As another plumber was rerouting the pipe, I called Air Force to express my disappointment. He said he forgot about the job and estimate; a lot of things were going on he said. I told him I never wrote bad reviews but this deserved to be told to people. He offered a full refund but I told him he had come and attempted to do something so I thought half was sufficient. We purchased a home with no information regarding the HVAC. It was fine through the winter, but when it came time to turn on the air we noticed it wasn't blowing. We contacted Airforce and stated we had no information regarding the system and we thought our fan was out; they were out the next day. Seth was very knowledgeable; he called and found out our system wasn't very old and labor for replacement of certain part would be under warranty. The part needed to be ordered and it would be a couple of weeks. He gave us a temporary 'fix' so we would have working air while we waited. We were looking at around $500 for this part, but we needed it. The part came in, and Seth was back. When he got in and started working he found a wire that was unattached. He reconnected this wire, and discovered we did not need the $500 part. We would've never known this! He said, "it's the right thing to do". This company has our business! They're knowledgeable, friendly, quick response and very clearly HONEST. Highly recommend them! read more

Warning! For those considering using Air Force Heating and Air, this was our horrible experience! On June 27, 2023 my wife and I arrived home to find our house was 84 degrees. Our home is only two years old, so I contacted the original air company that works with our builder. They confirmed everything should be under warranty but said they couldn't get out to our house for at least 3 more days so they advised I contact other Carrier dealer as they too could honor the warranty. My search led me to Air Force Heating and Air of Lagrange. They said they would send a technician out early evening. Everyone was initially very pleasant. The Tech arrived and decided the Thermal expansion valve (TXV for short) was the problem. He believed it had a foreign body in it, which he said was likely due to improper brazing when it was installed. As I expected, he further explained, the new part would be under warranty, but we would be responsible for the labor cost. He said he would email me two options in the morning and I needed to sign and return before they could order the parts. I continued checking my email frequently throughout the next day. Finally at 4:50pm I called their office. I spoke with another pleasant lady who immediately emailed the offers. The first was for $938 which would replace TXV and reclaim refrigerant. The second was for $1187, which was to replace the evaporating Coil with TXV valve. I didn't understand why they were suggesting to replace the Evaporator coil so I asked the tech to please call and explain further. He said that the coil was 2.5 years old and therefore half way through its warranty. If I wanted to go ahead and replace it while I was already paying for their labor, I could do so for an additional $200 because the part would be warrantied. His pitch led me to believe if I replaced the coil too, it would give me another 5 years on its warranty so I gave the go ahead for option 2. I do not know when the parts were actually ordered but they arrived 6 days later on July 5th and I was told someone would be out to install the following morning, July 6th. We've now been 9 days, during hot Georgia Summer, without air. July 6th arrives and the technician is all over the place. He starts outside working for a bit, then moves upstairs to the attic. He brought the old coil down and headed back up with the new coil but returned shortly later, sliding the box down the stairs saying he needed to assemble it outside now. This was all very strange to me. Some more time passes and the technician comes inside to tell me he needs help getting the parts back up the attic stairs so he needs to call someone else from the company to come help. Unfortunately he does not have a strong signal at our house so he leaves for a bit to call for help. He and another truck finally return later. When I go to check on their progress I immediately see the problem. My old coil is sitting on the ground next to the new coil, and it's half the size. It was the wrong part. The technicians boss is there and says he will drive to Columbus to get the right part and they will return later that afternoon to finish the install. Around 4pm the technician returns by himself and now a storm is developing. He let me know he probably wouldn't be able to finish that day. This is where I lost every ounce of patience I had left. I didn't understand why he told me earlier he needed two people to finish the work but only retuned with himself and now says he won't have enough time to finish by himself. After words were exchanged, the technician packed his tools and left, leaving my AC parts on the ground in the driveway. I called the company to vent my extreme frustrations and was connected with the scheduling supervisor who was actually the one that drove to Columbus. He said I told his tech that they needed to get their s-- together. I stated I didn't use those words but yes I felt like I was getting the run around when we'd been without A/C for 9 days and it didn't appear to be any priority to them to finish getting it fixed. What I had said was, there are better ways to run a company. His response was we'll put you on the schedule to finish when we can or you can find someone else and hung up. I then proceeded to call the corporate headquarters. Some person answered took all the info, said he would pass it on to the appropriate people and they would be in touch that afternoon. Another twenty-four hours went by and no one called to follow up. This has been one of the worst customer experiences to go through. They upsold me on more repairs which ultimately led to more problems and then they never finished the job. read more

We called Airforce HVAC in LaGrange, GA, due to our HVAC system was not working. We called in the morning and they sent out their Service Technician that same day. All I can say is when we called their service department lady was very polite and very helpful to us. Their Service Technician was so informative, very polite, and very helpful to us. After paying Airforce to do our maintenance twice a year we have stopped using them. While having air ducts cleaned it was brought to our attention the the air handlers were covered in mold. Air Force never cleaned them or mentioned that there was mold. When we bought our home in 2014, the Trane units were original to the house and were almost 30 years old. While still working well, we thought newer units would be more energy efficient and save us money on our utility bills. After researching, my husband chose Carrier heat pumps (which cost approximately $10,000 each) and Air Force to install. We thought we were buying top of the line units for which we paid a top of the line price, and expected top of the line installation. The 1st unit was installed in Sept 2015 but the compressor died after about 3 years but, unfortunately, shortly after we had the 2nd unit installed. We've had numerous scheduled and unscheduled maintenance/repair visits, but until the latest one in Jan 2021, we had no idea the 2nd unit had not been installed correctly. This also makes us wonder if the there was an issue with the 1st unit since it died after only 3 years of use. Major kudos to technician, Jordan Hill, who came for a service visit and documented the issue, otherwise we would have never known about it. Per his report, "Came back out with brandons assistance to determine why the wires were all removed from the down stairs heat strips. After inspecting the unit and breaker we found that the original breaker was left at a 30 amp with 10ga wire going to it. We only hooked up one bank of 3kw at 12.4amps of the heat strips as hooking up 2 pushed the amps to close to the 30 amps (they were reading 26.4amps) the breaker is rated for and the full heat strip bank would over load the breaker. I informed the home owner that in order for the full set of heat strips to be used the wire going from the breaker to the unit would need to be upgraded to at least a 6 ga wire or 4 ga wire with a 60 amp breaker. The system is working at this time just not to its full capacity." This is the 1st time we'd heard this. Interestingly, Brandon, who came with Jordan was part of the installation crew on this unit. My husband was present during the install and was never told anything needed to be done regarding the wiring or breaker. A letter was sent to the company owner asking for an explanation as to why this issue wasn't addressed during the installation or subsequent service visits, but there has been no response to date. We also have not been able to tell any energy savings, but maybe our unit is having to work harder than necessary and could be contributing to that. Use Carrier products and Air Force Heating and Air at your own risk, or better yet, use another product and company. read more

I called early this morning to have our air serviced. Within 30 minutes the technician Patrick arrived. He was courteous and honest about what needed to be done. At the end of the service, he noticed he tracked mud all onto my freshly powerwashed driveway . He asked if he could hose it down for me, that he felt so bad about having muddied the clean drive. He took the time to clean it up ! You don't often get customer service like that anymore!
