We are senior citizens who were without air conditioning for several days. A former contractor of 20 years didn't even return a phone call. Air experts immediately called, scheduled a service visit within 1 hour, showed up and explained the entire situation. There was no high pressure sales and no attempt to sell us anything. The marketing executive showed up the next day whose name was Paul, explained everything in detail and within 3 days he had a new system running quite efficiently. I will keep this company for all my future needs. They don't just advertise 24-hour service as many do, they actually show up with no high pressure. We asked for an estimate ( after a referral from a neighbor) on a new furnace and cooling for our home and Scott came out same day and gave us a lot of info etc. The estimate would come same day or next. i called two days later and Scott was working on it. I continued to call him and the main office.. really just wanted to know what happened and why we were dropped after a first good impression. Never got an answer, never returned any calls even though i was patient and courteous.. At the same time this was going on, air care was calling my neighbor every day to get their job... Very very rude and disrespectful By the way... my neighbors did not use them either.. i have never given a bad review before.. but this was really bad. read more

Stay away! I was a customer for 15 years. Then my 4 yr old water heater broke. (Bought/installed by Air non-experts.) Guy came, said it would cost $1,300 (after giving me a $300 discount - so was $1600) to remove/replace part. I thought it was still under warranty, guy said no, warranty only good for 4 years. What a coincidence! I knew the cost was way too high and told them NO! I called the water heater manufacturer and they told me it was still under warranty (5 yrs, not 4) and mailed me the part for FREE!!! I called another service and got it installed for a couple hundred. After 15 years, I don't know what happened. They were good! No more, different owner or management? I totally dropped them! The new company I hired showed me all the on-purpose errors the Air non-experts did to ensure repairs for the future. Please do yourself a favor and just stay away these rip-off experts! read more

Think before buying here. Your ac may need to be replaced after the hot temperatures? Think before you sign with Air experts. After still paying off an expensive "new" ac unit, 3 years later and paying for the emergency service and service plans, i now for the 3rd year off the bat have had problems with my unit. The techs and customer service are always super polite, Neil who is no longer there was amazing. Since that all downhill. I called because its been 75- 80 in my condo for several days now. I was at 2pm informed by text!...that my appointment is now cancelled and was pushed to July 17 for an appointment today. I called and we are scheduled for Tuesday now after a much enthusiastic complaint. However, when my fiancee who came to visit 1x a year is leaving and tuesday is a little too little and late after not sleeping and worrying over my unit. I called this morning to confirm and was told i was confirmed for today. I waited got the text fonally at 2. Missed the beach with family and valuable time i didnt need to spend running to get gatoraids and tip money for a tech that the dispatcher decided to depriotize. Thank you air experts. I think youre getting too big for your base. I was informed that " oh the call center isnt on the same page as us". So thats the reason for no comms and updates until 2pm. Think before you buy. No emergency plan you pay for purposely for these situations or higher level plan you also pay for.. will help you here. I will continue this post. I would rate this as a one on telling a friend about you. You charged me $317 for a capacitor which is like $20 for the part. He spent more time sitting in my driveway than it then it took to replace that capacitor. It took five minutes to put the part in, yet he was at my house for 30 minutes, 20 of those minutes he spent in the driveway. You also charged me $145 just to show up, when one of your workers lives 1 block away from me. A total of $492.61 for a $20 part. I will tell people NEVER to use you. read more

I posted a review and still waiting for Casey toncall me back, their care coordinator. I saw a response carefully and empathetically crafted to assure me that "I" can reach out. I have and i have been waiting. So i got representative DJ again. I asked to speak with Jessica since the quick rebuttal here advised that i could do so. I was told that via that phone i couls not get said Jessica and i would have to hear back from her. I asked when and he said," well we are pretty busy so i dont know when that will be and i can't guarantee anything but i will let her know." I asked why i didnt get a call back i already requested days ago (but see they managed to create a public facing, empathetic and caring reply here lol) I asked the difference between Jessica and Casey and he had no idea. He said they would have to explain it when they called me back. Theres alot of unknowns and no guarantees ...except that they will i'm sure be quick to rebuttal this review. My 2 1/2 year old system that Air Experts installed needed a new blower as per their technician. I was quoted $1750 to replace it by Air Experts. I contacted a friend who had another HVAC guy and he charged me $400. Avoid this place at all costs. Absolute thieves who will be out of business soon. read more

Incredibly unprofessional. They cannot keep a service appointment, so avoid and do not buy a service plan. They reschedule literally every time and blame weather events that occurred weeks ago. They always have an excuse, but let's be honest, why show up to do work that has already been paid for when you can make more money on other calls? That seems to be their attitude. They do not have the capacity to service the business they have. It's a shame because on the rare occasion they show up as scheduled, the techs are great. read more

Zero Rating if possible! For an appointment between 12 pm and 4:00 pm on a Sunday, the technician called at 5:45 pm saying that he does not work after 6:00 pm. My experience with air experts for the installation of a new HVAC unit and hot water heater was nothing short of superb. The team of technicians that arrived were professional, clean cut and the hardest working young men I have ever seen, all of them. They worked from 9am until after 10pm. Todd, the lead tech, Dennis, Iilia, and Acold were tireless on the installation. They were obviously dedicated employees that the company should be proud of. The installation of the HVAC was difficult as it was in a crawl space. I couldn't be more pleased! The we're contracted through Lowe's and I found David Page, the sales rep, to be professional and responsive to my initial concerns. read more

The dispatchers and the technician were very nice and professional. However, the price was outrageous and it seemed like they are taking advantage of the people who Needed the emergency services! our AC went out on Thursday (when the weather got up to 105!) I called them Friday morning was told they would come out that day. I was advised that there would be 150$ diagnostic fee. On Friday i was notified that they are behind (again because of the extreme heat everyone's AC were struggling) and they wouldnt be able to come til saturday (understandable). technician came out and spent 20 minutes, replacing a CAPACITOR. when he was done he gave me a bill of 492 dollars! yes it includes the 150 diagnostic fee. when I asked for a break down of the service I was told they couldn't provide me with one. When I looked online a capacitor costs anywhere from 15 to 30$! in don't understand how they can justify charging 340$ for 20 minutes worth of work and for a part that cost 30$ tops. And then to also not include the diagnostic fee as part of the service is insane! Its absolute rip off! It seems like they trad take advantage of people when they are in emergency situations. That is unacceptable for a business who claims to be professional and care about their customers. only reason I'm even giving 2 stars is because of how friendly their staff is... but then again are they overly friendly so they can scam on the price! read more

The company is no longer independently owned. Last year, one of our tankless water heaters died. This guy (Neil?) comes by the house. Real smooth talker. He must have sized me up as a rich dolt. I have the twice a year maintenance plan. When you request service you are given a four hour window. I'm not sure why appointments cannot be scheduled for specific times. I have a special needs adult daughter who sleeps at different times so I need to plan services for specific times, not windows of time. They tried to accommodate me by saying I would be the first in 10a-2pm slot which raises the assumption that the technician will arrive at 10am. Now my daughter is in her room asleep and the technician called at 11am to say he will be here in a half hour. We have mini splits and one of the wall units is in her room so now he will have to service the unit while she is in there. Not good. He is still not here as of 11:45. I realize it his not his fault but this is not good business. They did a great job when they installed our mini-split system but I'm very unhappy with the ensuing service. read more

As background, we have used Air Experts for replacement of a very old furnace in an office building. They did a great job. We have also had them install a new a/c unit and duct work several years ago. Next, they replaced our aging a/c unit (which they had installed) . And, lastly, they replaced our oil fired boiler with a Navien combo unit for hot water baseboard heat and domestic hot water usage. My issue is with the latest project ... the Navien unit. It is not quite two years old. We have had a valve replace in the past few months. Our latest issue is the unit stopped making heat and domestic hot water. I placed an emergency call. The tech arrived in a timely manner. He opened the Navien unit and water spilled out from the bottom. After removing the cover, he discovered that the components inside the box were all covered in condensation. H worked for two hours while having a Navien tech on the phone to trouble shoot. The end result at this point was to place an order for several (according to the A E tech) components. Navien could not commit to a delivery target for these components. Also, I failed to mention that the house was at 55 degrees. A E committed to installing the new parts when they arrived. Back to the tech ... he did some more work on the unit and was able to get it to start up. It then was able to heat the water. He would not guarantee that the Navien unit would continue to operate. He cautioned that it could fail due to the condensation that he found. He left around 8PM and we were starting to get heat. By 11pm, the house was back to 69 degrees. The next day, I communicated to A E, asking our status for the new components. They could not tell me when the parts would be delivered. They had no method to track the shipment. The next day, we were advised the components would be arriving and an A E tech would be to our home in the afternoon. Later that day, they called to say the assigned tech discovered that the shipped components were not the correct ones!!! So, they now found someplace in North Jersey to get the components and were sending a courier to retrieve them. We are now scheduled for tomorrow morning. All of this is going on while we are on edge about a system failure. We are facing the thanksgiving holiday in four days. We are facing incoming family for T'day dinner and a week-long visit. A E and Navien need to have a better solution for emergency service. Spare parts for at least 1-2 emergencies should be in stock at A E, unless Navien can guarantee overnight delivery of the correct components. In summary, while we have used A E for many, many years, this latest situation makes me question the quality of the Navien unit. I am also concerned about the level of communication A E has with Navien. I felt like we were not getting the level of emergency service that was called for. A E's preparedness was sub-par. None of this reflects on the determination of the tech to solve the problem. read more

Honor appointments, honor warranty , KEEP better RECORDS! Paid a lot for 3 systems ... BIG regret!

After 15 months of a new COSTLY heating-cooling system, I've had to make no fewer than 5 calls to Air Experts for emergency service. To wit: when the ambient (outdoor) temperature falls below 40 degrees, the inside heat drops 5-6 degrees below the set temps on my thermostat. Now I must pay for an extended warranty to avoid service calls every time my EXPENSIVE system fails. Yesterday, I was compelled by the service rep (A.R. in Whiting, NJ) to anti up 136.00 for the privilege. He stated that the system was working when, clearly, it was not. It took 48 hours for the system to return to the correct temp after near-freezing temps over last weekend. Weather forecasts freeze warnings for Thursday (2 days from now) ........ read more

Shop and compare as their services are overpriced and customer service has some issues. I understand it's a business trying to make money but stop with the ridiculous prices. They charged me, twice, for refrigerant for a failed AC component and gave me an estimate to replace the component which was STILL under warranty. And which THEY recently installed. The refrigerant cost was considerably higher than other providers. Last year they wanted $600 to clean boiler burners and $1300 to replace a $240 pump on the same boiler. A different contractor charged $360 to clean the burners. read more

Had to replace old air conditioner in my Jackson nj home in July of this year. Negotiated a deal for a 2 step air conditioner to be installed. On day of install I noticed that a 1 step system was installed. Called sales person to inquire about what could be done and he assured me that the situation would be rectified. From that day to this day I have heard nothing. I have called company multiple times with no call back. They also had to restore electricity to attic where AC located any made a home in my closet that was never fixed. Had a scheduled maintenance appointment. The time was 12pm- 5pm. Scheduled my afternoon for my appointment. At 3:50 in the afternoon, I got a text they would not be coming, they claim they had customers with A/C issues. I called the office, I was told that the other customers were going to get service over me. I explained I made the appointment And scheduled my day, they tried to tell me this was a emergency, I told them I didn't care about the other customers. I hope people listen to me. Please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I called them for a service call, and this is what they told me. I was told by the technician that my split unit had a leak and the price to find the leak would be $1,577.00. Secondly, I was told that my refrigerant was low and that the first pound would cost $399.00, and any additional pound would cost $995.00. The total would be $2,971.00. I called someone else, and my split unit was fixed for $400.00. I can only imagine how many people this company has overcharged over the years. read more

We spent a lot of money to have Air Experts install two new heating/AC systems, and a tankless water heater. We were "sold" what was supposed to be this amazing system that was going to keep our house comfortable year round. Instead we got a system that does a so so job. Also the maintenance contract is very expensive, and we have had too many issues for a system that is so new, IMO. Also, the tankless water heater has had problems, and doesn't always kick on for some strange reason. For the money we paid, I would not recommend these guys. Overpriced and overrated. That said, their service technicians (e.g. Bob and Chris) are very nice and courteous. So this is not a reflection on them. read more

Great communication until they were given my check to begin installing my new system. Was told multiple times to wait for them to contact me directly which they never do. Always had to call them back a week later to get a response out of them. Was told Monday through Friday job but was more like January through March. At one point they deactivated my old heating system before the new one was running and when it was 45 degrees in my house they were kind enough to give me some space heaters. Came for annual tuneup for our Navien heating system and were very thorough. They also installed our mini split system for air-conditioning and heating and did a nice job.
