Truly a 5 Star company in so many ways! We replaced existing Navien Combi System (heat/hot water), 2 zones, baseboard heat, in a 1933-built house (numerous old/new piping in the basement) with the Weil-McLain Combi system, using the originally installed piping for the Navien and connecting into the original piping in the basement. (Preface: The Navien combi system was installed Fall, 2012, but we weren't spending a lot of time in the home due to traveling, especially in the winter months. In 2016 we were here full time and the system a working fine, appeared to work effectively, albeit the temperature was normal set at 67 or 68.) From the President of the company to the Operations Manager down to the two gentlemen that installed the new system, I have never seen such devotion to pleasing their customer, perseverance in dealing with some tough issues that were not caused by them, and extreme professionalism throughout the entire installation process. At one point they could easily have responded in a defensive/argumentative manner, but instead they took the approach of putting the customer first! When was the last time that happened to you? We contacted Air Express after waiting 2 days for our former company tech (to no avail), and then contacting Navien technical support for their advice, which was to immediately contact an authorized dealer, due to a fire/safety issue with the heat exchanger overheating the system. (We had been without heat on/off for 2 days, waking up to 50 degrees in the morning.) The Navien was installed in Fall, 2012, but we were not in the home much due to traveling until 2016, and thought it was working fine, albeit the temperature was normally set at 67-68, due to working hours.) Air Express was able to get someone out to my house late that same afternoon, and it became readily apparent that my former plumber had not be maintaining the system as it should have been maintained. (The tech showed me several parts that needed major cleaning; the system needed a purge, which looked like mud honestly; and although he got us up and running, he wasn't sure it was going to last, because of the extreme condition he observed without taking apart the heat exchanger, which would have needed scheduling due to the amount of work involved with it, and if it was the heat exchanger a warranty process would ensue.) Sure enough 1.5 days later, it finally shut down for good, due to the heat exchanger having repeatedly overheating. I called Air Express' emergency contact (naturally it conked out for good on Saturday, Dec. 8?), phone went directly to the Operations Mgr, who discussed potential replacement options for us, because it wasn't so cut and dried to simply replace the heat exchanger (under warranty), and due to costs it might be better to buy a new system. He immediately got an installation salesman on the phone; identified when he could get to us same day and advised him to bring as many space heaters to us as he could, since we were out of heat. (I ask you when was the last time that happened to you when you were out of heat!) We decided on a Weil-Lain Combi and during the installation the installer found other problems with the initial Navien installation, including the fact that there were no shut off valves in the closet on the first floor, so should there have been a water leak, it was going to flood my first floor. They of course rectified that. There was an issue with part of the first floor not getting heat, and the tech persevered for such a long time (said he wouldn't give up on getting me heat) and after an exhaustive search he determined that it was air blockage in the pipes passing through a kick space heater, which he suggested might be broken, in the kitchen. (The house was built in 1933 so you can imagine the number of twists and turn, old shut off valves, old piping and new piping as result of interior modifications throughout the years.) Before arbitrarily changing out the space heater, the President of the company came out with a "new set of eyes on the problem" and listened intently to my chronological review/assessment of what I thought might be the problem. The President was like a detective, conducting a thorough examination of the piping, even opening up old release valves to identify potential blockage; he lastly discovered that the kick space heater was not the issue. (He could have covered that up, but did not.) He discovered that circulation pumps were not installed with the original Navien system. The original price quote from Air Express did not include new circulation pumps and although he could be been defensive about this, he took the highroad road and informed me that Air Express would not only pay for the additional labor to install them, but they would also pay for the circulation pumps as well, because he felt they should have noticed their absence. Air Experts will restore your faith in trusting a businessman! In 2013, I bought a Navien, top of the line system, believing I would not have issues. For a few years, all went well. A month ago, I woke up to no hot water. I called Air Experts and they sent out a repairman immediately. Their service department is efficient, highly trained and informative. Eric fixed the system and within a few hours, all was well. Unfortunately, over the next week, my system went down several times during a frigid cold spell. Each time I called, they responded immediately and replaced the failing parts. On the last service call, the service tech felt this was a defective system and brought the owner Mike and Service Manager, Ed, in the loop. Mike called the manufacturer, identifying the issues and potential issues with this defective system. He and Ed took the time and put all kinds of effort into defending his position in justifying a new replacement for the system. Within a day, Mike got the approval from Navien that the system be replaced and the day after that, the services techs were at my house installing the new system, under warranty with no cost at all to me. Now, what company do you know, that will stand by their products, after four years, making no additional money, to do right by their customers? Air Experts. That's who! Not only is everyone friendly to deal with, this is a valued company who truly cares. During my ordeal, Mike kept me abreast of everything he was doing to either fix or replace my system. He was always responsive, patient and understanding to my many phone calls. This company is truly professional and customer oriented and I am eternally grateful. We had a very good experience with Air Experts. I found out on a Wednesday morning that our heater needed replacement, and we went to Home Depot that afternoon to look into getting a new unit. Since a snowstorm was forecast for the next day and it was supposed to get extremely cold, we were very concerned about our pipes freezing. We received a call from Air Experts within 10 minutes of leaving the store, and they had Frank contact me to set up an appointment. He was at our home within two hours of our visit to Home Depot. It was obvious that he had extensive experience with HVAC installation, because he was able to point out problems with how our old unit had been installed and let us know how they would do it correctly. He was also very helpful with financing issues and explained what rebates we would be entitled to, so we felt comfortable going with them. I received a call early the next morning from Phil, who supervises installations. He assured me that they were making every effort to have our unit delivered on a timely basis despite the snowstorm, and he called back that afternoon to let me know that we were tentatively scheduled for installation on Friday morning. He called again early Friday to confirm that they were coming at 9 am, and the installation crew of Paul, Mike, and Steve showed up right on time. Everything was done very professionally, and all work was completed by 4 pm. Before leaving, they checked out the ductwork in the crawlspace and determined that some ducts were not properly hooked up. We're looking forward to having them take care of this and to finally having an HVAC system that functions properly. read more

I had my 3 year old AC compressor not coming on, this was a Thursday. I called Air Experts based only on their reviews and met Peter via phone. He was very professional and helpful in maybe all of 10 minutes. This was all the time needed to lock in an appointment for the day after. My funance was diagnosed as the culprit for my 3 year old AC system not coming on. My control board on my 26 year old funance would spike voltage/amperage and burn out my contactor, which kept AC compressor from coming on. All this was explained to me by Joe, a great technician. This was on a Saturday at 6 pm or so. Joe said he could have a guy out next day to give me an estimate. So 10 am, next day, rain downpouring, I had the pleasure of meeting Neal and Josh, forgive me if I got a name wrong. Both were on time and smiling, even asked if I wanted their shoes off..... Then Josh explained to me, in detail, how my furnace worked and it's overall condition. Both Neal, Josh and myself went upstairs and talked business. Both were very easy going and clear with all my options. Both also were respectful and personable. I ended up purchasing a new Ruud furnance that they are installing tomorrow, 6/14. Having only delt twice with this company and with 4 different employees in at least 3 different fields of the company, I have to say I wish I knew about Air Experts sooner but that's life. Mark, Paul, and Steve were at our home to remove a hot water heater, furnace, and air conditioning unit. They also installed the new AO Smith Hot Water Heater, Lennox Furnace, and Lennox Air Conditioning Unit. They provided courtesy phone calls as to their estimated arrival time so that we could situate our five (5) dogs. They were prompt, organized, and kept a clean work area. The guys explained exactly what they were doing, why it was being done, and answered any questions/concerns that we had. As we have lived in our home for over thirty (30) years without the ducts ever being cleaned, we inquired as to the duct cleaning services. It was recommended by Air Experts Inc. that the ducts be cleaned after the installation of the new units. We then had Christian come two (2) weeks after the installation of the new units to clean out the ducts. He was very polite, prompt, and courteous. He explained what he would be doing and how the work would be performed. We chose to utilize Air Experts Inc. through their Comfort Consultant, Frank Ambrose, at Home Depot in Lakewood, NJ. He was instrumental in our choosing of this company for the services required at our home. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Air Experts Inc. for their services as to home heating and air conditioning. After 33 years of solid service, our central air conditioning system failed on one of the hottest nights of the summer. After spending two hot, sticky days in an extremely warm home, we scheduled appointments with several local HVAC installers to see what options they might offer us for a new system. Happily, one of the companies we found through Internet research and ratings on Angie's List and HomeAdvisor was Air Experts. One of their salesmen, Kevin, was at our house the same morning I submitted an online request for a consultation, and he presented my husband and me with several affordable options for our older home. After hearing from the other companies I had contacted, we found that proposal Kevin prepared for us was the most thorough and affordable of all we received. As soon as the final consultation ended, we contacted Kevin and told him that we wanted to proceed with Air Express. He was able to send me all the required paperwork for review and signature that night, and amazingly, he had installers at our house the next morning. The installers worked diligently for many hours to remove our old unit and install a new one; and my husband and I slept quite comfortably last night with our new air conditioner running quietly and efficiently. STOP! Hope the owners read this... My pool was opened and the heat pump did not start up. I called a few people including the place that installed the pool. Here's the important part: Air Experts responded over the weekend. No one else contacted us. Air Experts said they would call on Monday. They called on Monday! Then they sent an email with the initial costs (to come take a look) - more than reasonable. Amazingly they called the day before they came to confirm the time and location. To top - they day off - they called ahead and said they would be arriving in an hour. Sure enough they came on time (and COVID safe). Now I bet you wondering if it's all fixed...this story has a happy ending - 72 degrees and climbing (up from 60). Thank you to Chris L. - knows his stuff - was very nice, quick and helpful. Adding a multi room mini-split system to our unit (2nd floor condo with a HOA, limited attic space in a very small portion of the unit and a ceiling that is also the roof) was a challenge that was addressed methodically and was well thought out given the challenges. Our installation team of Michal and Nick ensured we understood the options prior to the start and they accommodated my aesthetic concerns as well as taking our neighbors fears into consideration. They worked efficiently as a team enduring small crawl spaces and lengthy returns to ensure the finished product was installed well, was aesthetically pleasing and worked like a charm. Air Experts installed a 5-unit Mitsubishi split A/C system into our older cape cod home. We had gotten a number of quotes from A/C contractors with a wide variation in price and product recommendations. We chose Air Experts based not only on the price but also on their plan for the type of Mitsubishi units to be installed. The work was completed as promised and we are very pleased with the outcome. Everyone we had to deal with, from the initial salesman to the office staff and, most importantly, the installers were easy to communicate with. The actual installation went smoothly with one minor glitch that was resolved very quickly. We have a maintenance contract for HVAC but we had an unexpected surprise on a Sunday night to have no hot water. I noticed in my files that Air Experts also have a plumbing department. I called after hours and Mike called back very promptly. Although he could respond Sunday night he mentioned that it would be more expensive than waiting until the next morning. I asked if it could be as close to 8AM as possible. Well, Josh called at 7:40AM to let us that he was enroute. Our 14 year old hot water heater had died. Josh explained our options clearly and concisely. We were concerned that we would not be able to have a new installation right away but that was not the case. I was amazed with the service. From the time that I called the company, to the repair of the AC. I didn't have to wait for an appointment, I called and got the first available. With an 8am-12pm time slot my technician was there 9am. He quickly diagnosed the issue, explained it thoroughly for us to understand, and knew right away how to fix it and what caused it. He left our house, came back with the part and fixed it instantly! Absolutely amazing service. I can't say enough nice things. I'm so happy and so relieved we found this company. Our ancient boiler developed a leak. We thought carefully about repairing it but decided to not only replace it but to replace our 7 year old hot water heater also. We chose a new combi unit. Scheduling was easy. Carl arrived Thursday morning as scheduled. He must have run into every conceivable kind of challenge. Our house is nearly 70 years old and our boiler and hot water heater were also aged. To make a very long story short, he surmounted dozens of problems, including getting stung 4 times by ground wasps or hornets! I felt he went above and beyond the job, keeping us informed and working 3 very long days to complete the job. Air Experts are very fortunate to have him. Second time in a year I've had trouble with this company. They have good technicians and not-so-good ones. I ALWAYS request the technician (Chris L.) that I've worked with for many years. He is excellent. They agree to send him and then send anyone they want. Last year I stupidly let the "wrong" technician in. He told me my nearly brand new heater would need a several hundred dollar repair. On second opinion, it wasn't needed at all. This year they ignored my request again. I sent (the very nice) technician back, and called the manager, Ed. He was entirely unsympathetic to the problem, told me how great their office staff was (my fault, of course), and ended by saying in a paternal tone that "this conversation isn't going to happen if you are rude." During my spring/summer air conditioning check I inquired about a whole house air filtering system. I had read about it but wanted a professional to answer specific questions that I had. The technician Bob, who has been to my house many times, answered all my numerous questions. I told him I felt bad keeping him so long but he said he had all day if need be to make sure all my concerns were met. After going over all the information given to me I decided to have the air filtering system installed and, as always, Bob performed the installation (along with checking the condenser) with his courteous and professional expertise.
