Rudest people ever. And they know you can't go anywhere else so they don't care. I'm coming from out of state where any private company could do emissions testing for you, so they were all nice to you. I simply asked one guy how long the testing took and he said you have all these cars in front of you. Ok, so is it an hour a car or 5 minutes a car? When I told him I didn't know what that meant and I had to be somewhere to be he told me to get out of there. His manager came out and told me it was only about 15 minutes a car, which was helpful information that the first guy could have just given me instead of being a jerk. read more

It's not fun to get a vehicle inspection and I knew I was doing it wrong. The website said try not to go on a Monday. I went on a Monday. The website said there's at least 17 minutes of wait time once you get through the gate. I stopped for coffee and by the time I got there. It was 35. They said it could take hours... But that was not correct for me. The staff worked really hard to get people in the proper lines and although my wait time ended up being longer than 35 minutes. I was satisfied with the 37 minutes that it took. Thank you, Air Care Colorado for taking care of so many people on a Monday Morning. I read the reviews and laugh. Because people don't have patience and need to complain about something. I have come to this location for years, and it is a necessary evil. I have no complaints and have always got great service. The bad reviewers need to show some class and patience and really keep their bad comments and long-winded rants to themselves. The people work hard, and I can understand if there is low staffing at times. The website states when the best time to come. I always get there thirty minutes before it opens. I would not recommend this particular location to anybody. I had a frustrating experience at the emissions location on Lipan St. After waiting in line for an hour and a half, I was next in line for the whole hour and a half only to be given false information by the staff, who were completely rude. When my truck was finally tested, they claimed it failed due to brake issues--how could I have driven it there if the brakes didn't work? Riddle me that, I would rate this place less than one star. read more

I checked the internet before and after i arrived at Lipan and it said there were NO WAIT TIMES. I had to wait in line for 70 minutes before they took my car Tobe tested. If you can't bother to update wait times, take it off the internet. I thought I would in and out quickly -- NO such luck. Some cars that came after me were tested before mine and when I complained, the said I was in the wrong lane. I was in the lane they INSTRUCTED me to be in and told me if I changed lanes, I would lose my place in line. Not a good experience. read more

Terrible wait times. Even though it said 16 minute, waited an hour in the car. It doesn't help that they allow people who get in the wrong lane to butt in front of the rest who made the right choice. That totally is unfair. Those who choose wrong should not be given special treatment. They should wait by their ticket on who came first. read more

I went to the AirCare Colorado in Sheridan in City. The manager there was extremely rude and did not listen to my warnings about how the car operated. My car failed because of the gas cap, so I replace the gas cap and Came to this location For a retest. Interesting enough, even though it was just a gas cab problem they have to retest the entire car again. A month ago when I was here Only one lane was open. Took 90 minutes to get tested. Today I'm here and 3 lanes are open, but it took 68 minutes to get tested to learn I had a bad gas cap, everything else passed. I drove to O'Riley Auto Parts where 'Mel' had a new cap ready for me. It took me 9 minutes to get back to be told that the new cap needed to be tested..... and I also had to go through the full test all over "because you might have changed something " in those 9 minutes that would cause failure. I've now sat 90 minutes in a stagnant line (3wide) and still see a hour more to come? I took a photo to share here and the little manager came out asking I delete the photo because they don't allow photography here on this 'private' property. Wow! I'm sure if I were saying something nice the 'guy' would be out here posing. If AirCareColorado didn't have an illegal business monopoly on testing cars in Colorado, I certainly would take my company business elsewhere! I drive for a small dealership, five mechanics, a chauffeuring service, a car rental agency, and several movie stars. The entry should be different. You grab a ticket and then get in line in one of their bays. But the ticket is not based on first come first served. I am sitting in line right now actually, and there have been at least seven cars that were behind me that have already gotten in. It's as if my line is not moving at all. Pretty ridiculous. They should call the cars in based on when they got there. Not which lane they are in. read more

This necessary annual errand is unpleasant at best, but I'm giving this location 4 stars for being efficient and not too terribly busy. The people who work there seem as equally unenthused about being there as the customers who have to get their emissions tested but here we all are, in this thing together. If you ever had the misfortune of having to go to the DMV on W. Mississippi, this is nothing like that (if you know, you know!) but you may have a touch of deja vu due to the proximity of the locations. If you know Denver, you can find 2300 S. Lipan without GPS but once you get there follow the signs because that's not really the address. It's kind of an industrial adventure but, no worries, there's no traffic down there. read more

5-stars for a quick and easy smog check. I haven't had to do one of these for many years, back in my California days. Unlike California, however, there aren't nearly as many smog check places in Colorado. Therefore, one may have to go out of the way to get a required emissions test to renew your registration. Air Care is an easy, drive-through service. $25 for a car made between 1982-2015. I'm told that it'll take two business days for the inspection to register with the DMV. That's plenty of time to pay online for new tags. read more

Let's talk about worse emissions place in the state of Colorado. Come here if you want your time wasted, be inconvenienced and treated like dirt. So many workers yet nobody working, everyone on "break". Cigarettes get more attention than the customers. Also why pull a ticket if it does not account for anything. The lanes should be more specific!! To much joking and playing around goes on here. If your friends with anyone here seems like it does not matter what lane you're in they'll make an exception!! Worst Air Care Colorado location. I got in the correct line (the one not for 4 wheel drive). Other drivers who got into the wrong line were directed to get in line in front of me making my wait time longer. The intake system is terrible. Maybe make it more apparent what line is for what so I don't have to wait behind the dingle berries who got there 10 minutes after me. I had enough time to call and complain. The women that I talked to on the phone kept explaining what I already understood. What I didn't understand was why not make intake easier by either A. Having someone direct traffic into the correct lanes when they enter the facility or B. Make the lanes clear from the start. read more

Found myself in a dreaded situation: my registration expired Monday, the last day of the month. I realized this Sunday night. I also needed a smog check in order to renew. I left a note for my office, informing them that I might be gone all morning, got a water bottle and my laptop and headed to this location a few minutesbefore they opened Monday morning. The line was only about seven cars--far fewer than the line around the block I was expecting. I got on line, and when they opened at 8AM it moved quickly. I was on my way by 8:40AM! Staff were efficient and moved the line quickly, getting cars into the right rows and moving us along. I had my credit card ready for when they called me, and my car (which passed, of course) had a certificate in no time. For a dreaded errand, the folks here made it as easy as possible. It's not a particularly fancy or comfortable waiting area; you won't get coffee, plush seating, and free wifi. I could do without the short video played on a loop; heard that video nearly a dozen times while waiting. But you will get fast, efficient service. read more

I went to the Air Care Colorado location on 2300 S Lipan St in Denver to get an emissions test. Admittedly, I arrived 20 minutes before they closed, so I can understand that they were unable to help me. However, what I don't like is the worker who treated me so rudely. I don't know his name, but he was a white male, approximately 5 foot 9, wearing an ohio state beanie with a marijuana pin on it. He was at the desk when I rang the bell. I asked how to get an emissions test and he said "Technically we can do that" and showed me a map of how to get there. When I got there, cones were blocking the entrance. I went back to him and asked why they closed early. I was civil, and even told him multiple times during the conversation that I was not mad at him. After about 45 seconds of talking, he simply walked away from the conversation. I understand if I cannot get the test done today because I understand I came in at 5:15. However if a worker just walks away from a civil conversation with a customer, I hope it's fair to say that is not right. read more

The first time I came to this spot I waited almost 2 hours and they said I didn't need emissions testing because I passed enough check points. I asked if there was any paperwork I needed and they said no. I then go to the dmv and they say I need my emissions done and these guys don't know what they are talking about. So I come back now angry that I wasted so much time and I let the attendant know the issue. I told him I need the testing done regardless of what his scanner says. Then they drive my car thru the testing spot and give me the same garbage about not needing to test. I let them know I need the testing done so they drive it around again. Wasting more of my time and call me over to tell me the same thing for the third time. This job is not that hard. But I guess they scrape the bottom of the barrel when looking for talent. read more

Went to this location today because the website said the wait was only 15 minutes. Ended up waiting more than an hour and still wasn't allowed to enter the bay. Both James and Francisco were the most rudest people we have ever met. There was complete chaos entering the lanes to get the emission test. Finally left and went over to the Air Care Colorado on East Warren. They were curtious, kind, and efficient. Although their wait time said 37 minutes we were in and out in about 15 minutes. Never go to the emission testing location on Lipan. They are terrible. read more

Website says they open at 8am, so I got there at 7:15 in the hopes I could be one of the first cars and be out of there by 9am and get to work on time. They didn't open until 8:45. The website said the wait was 14 minutes, the sign outside said 10 minutes- so I was expecting 30 minutes plus. I was very pleasantly surprised there was no wait and I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Very efficient and friendly staff. A usually painful errand was no big deal. read more

Not too thrilled with the service here. Brought my car in for emissions and they told me to go in a certain row. The emissions guy "messed up somehow" according to the gal in the cashier booth and they had to drive it back around to another row behind a line of cars....so unacceptable !!! read more
