BOTTOM LINE: I personally prefer this over the usual ML lounge at Pearson, and it's arguably the "best" lounge at Pearson (not including the ML Signature one). I'm a sucker for design and for an airport lounge, this place has it in spades with it's dark interior, dim lighting, and wood accents. But first of all, let's talk about what it isn't: it's not a huge space but given more stringent entry requirements and the fact that it's relatively hidden, it's much less likely to be full compared to other Pearson lounges. And the reality is that with post-COVID revenge travel in full swing, there's a very high chance that you'll be waitlisted and/or find yourself in a very cramped/noisy lounge. Now what it is, is a relaxed atmosphere with a very wild selection of mostly refrigerated offerings that you can take to go. They do have a super limited area with warm foods, but don't expect the usual offerings you see at other lounges. Most of the selection is really healthy too - from granola bars, to yogurt, fruit cups, hummus + veggies, etc. - and all in fancy packaging. They even have a freshly-squeezed orange juice bar and a fresh ground coffee bar, in addition to your usual bar of alcoholic offerings. If you have access to the AC Cafe, you almost certainly have access to the usual lounges, so I'd recommend going to both, and stopping by the cafe to get something to go! read more

The Air Canada Café at Toronto Terminal 1 Pearson is a domestic-only lounge located just past the main entrance of the departure wing. Thought we'd drop by to see how it compares to the main lounge upstairs. It is small, you have to line up for coffee, which was a bit annoying. Yes, there is a proper bar where a bartender will pour you a drink but again you line up and if it's busy you'll be waiting. There is a large refrigerator case of plastic take away and brown box grab and go small bites and wraps,etc but it feels somewhat like a 7-Eleven. It does not look super appetizing but I do concede that there are more take away options than upstairs which have no take out containers. I guess this is designed for non business class flyers who don't get or want the onboard food selection? It is new and the contemporary decor is a welcome change from the somewhat tired appearance of the main lounge, but it is a small cafe with a limited number of tables and seating (some at the bar). It's worth a visit but if it's a high traffic period unlikely you'll find a seat. read more

Air Canada's grab and go concept lounge in YYZ for domestic flights. It's a self-serve food and bev cafe/ lounge and their whole purpose is to have people grab their food and drinks to go for their flight. They provide a variety of food options and even have mini paper bags for you to grab some stuff. The cafe itself was very good but what made it not a five star experience was the check in person working at the front. She really ruined the experience for us right from the start with her constant huffing and puffing expressing her annoyance with our group. She did not leave a great first impression for this cafe prior to entering - thank goodness the cafe made up for it with it's comfort, variety and concept. You can get things like drinks, cheese, oats, fruit, wraps, veggies, salads, and more - all already packed in their to go containers. Definitely worth checking out! read more

A different experience. This cafe is located inside YYZ airport. This cafe is open to 50K and up member and people boarding Business class. The concept is different than the traditional lounge. This is a to-go experience. You are free to take stuff to go on the plane. They provide you with bags. I had orange juice at the cafe here and omg it was freshly squeezed orange juice. I need to come back that is for sure. There are less seats because this lounge is much more exclusive. There was a woman at the entrance to greet me when I walked in. This was nice and is somewhat similar to the lounge upstairs. This was a positive experience. read more

Hopefully, Air Canada won't make access available to every coupon carrying and/or credit card promotion so to keep the café's somewhat exclusive cachet of elite travel perks for its passengers; time will tell... Located on the right wing of the domestic D concourse, accross from gate D20; you will be wowed by the simple yet urban chic brown, wood and grey decor tones. The air canada world service map is featured on brown metal punctured and lit wall panels, while the inside is a Nordic inspired industrial cafe and (non alcoholic) bar. At the entrance, a complete grab and go refrigerator contains healthy snacks, fruits, sandwiches, wraps and the obligatory sodas. You can consume them on site or have them totally free to go, for your flight ! Wow! There are many communal tables, with plugins and USB ports galore to get work done, very comfy benches and leather lounge chairs make up the minimalistic cool vibe of the space; aided by the smoot/lounge down tempo jazzy soundtrack. The bar is totally impressive with its black metal bar stools and industrial chic vibe. A barista can make you a freshly grinded Lavazza espresso, or you can have a hand blended iced cappuccino with real spinning hot chocolat chaud (fancying The description of Starbucks hot Chocolate)! I opted for the cold nitro dark roast coffee pour; pours are also available in cold brew. The barista offered to get us a fresh squeezed orange juice with the presser clearly visible on the counter with real oranges ready to squeeze; again WoW, WoW, wow! There is no alcohol or nuts here; just a fantastic and initially very exclusive cafe experience that is very welcome! Keep it up Air Canada and keep this cafe an exclusive elite experience for your business travellers! Oof! Time flies, no pun intended!!! Yahoo - An Air Canada Lounge for 50, 75 and 100K travellers. Your greatest at the entrance by a friendly Air Canada team member and a few steps and your in the cafe.... Opened last week across from Gate D20. Small intimate cafe with a barista who can make you a wonderful coffee - but the most outstanding part is it has grab n' go food, drinks and snack and they will even give you a bag to take it out to your plane. There are sandwiches (cheese & tomato and ham & cheese on little baguettes, danish pastry's, fruit containers - some with cheese, hummus & veggies, puddings, sweets.....lots of nice little treats to take on the plane. They will even make you a coffee to go !! Yahoo and move over Starbucks ! The seating is cafe style - no big comfy chairs to camp for a few hours, but lots of space to work on about 5 bar/communal tables with power and about 20 tables and chair areas. Soft elevator music playing, some nice artwork, very urban decorated, it's quite and no airport announcements, and for me the best part is no non-elite members; meaning no members that bought Air Canada member ship/passes or travellers and their families and entourages that you wonder how they got into the lounge in the first place - yes I said it ! On the departures level at Terminal 1 domestic. Superior to the Maple Leaf lounge and it has great coffee, snacks and juices. Seating is comfortable and lots of spots to charge phones etc. great addition for AC business class pax and elite members. read more

Recently I paid my first visit to the Air Canada Cafe, I actually had to have someone direct me to where this is located in Pearson, as it is not abundantly obvious. I might have had it in my head that it would be in a different location. Walked in, and there is a host to check you in. I was surprised by how open and airy the Cafe was. Long bar at the back to serve espresso drinks as well as a number of espresso machines around for self-service. The seating is very generous, and not crowded like the Maple Leaf Lounges are. There are long open refrigerators that house numerous snacks, sandwiches, fruits, yogurts, etc. Everything is setup for a grab-and-go style. It's perfect ! Even an area for those that have a bit of a sweet-tooth for a mix and match. The decor is beautiful ! Even though the Cafe is pretty much wide open, the place feels very cozy. Well done to the designers of the Cafe, Now if we could only get an update to the MLL. The Cafe is a must for those with E50, E75 or SE100 status. read more
