I'm writing to forewarn future clients of this business. 14-16 weeks out of an appointment I placed a 180 dollar deposit after 3 weeks we find out that we will not boarding. I ask for a contract I asked about refunds all being assured I'd be reimbursed this deposit if I did notify soon enough. Now I'm being told o am only going to receive half of the deposit refunded and the other placed for services. I do not require service not will I. So please me very cautious when giving out deposits to this kennel. They do not follow what they tell you. And I was not warn of the non refundable deposit. Get it in writing. They have tendency to leave the truth behind and not be honest on this platform where I am full disclosure warning who does a non refundable deposit 14 weeks out on a government hearing. Only a desperate business, even cruises and restaurants allow a reasonable cancellation. But in desperate times people and business will do desperate things No one. If I was informed I would have kindly moved to another kennel why don't you put it on here where I signed a non refundable deposit.. read more

The place is run efficiently, and staff is caring. You are restricted to a specific day for daycare, sorted by dog sizes, the dogs are kenneled in between shifts and released to comminingle a few times a day. If this is what you expect for daycare, they are reliable. read more

My two dogs were kenneled at Aintree over the Thanksgiving 2021 week. They returned happy and healthy. I love that they offer bathing, which I appreciate. I would highly recommend Aintree kennels. read more

We have been sending our shepherd to Aintree since we first adopted him at 4 months old. Five years later, and a second dog added, we wouldn't trust anyone else to care for our fur babies. The staff is fantastic! Louie and Penelope always enjoy their time there, whether it's daycare or boarding. Both tales always start wagging at full speed when we pull in the driveway. read more

In response to the "fake review", I am the co-owner of Koda and was the one to drop her off, pick her up, and have to bring her to the emergency room due to the gross neglegence of this kennel. Not only did they lie about the severity of the injury. They told me it was was on the other paw so I would not notice it when picking my dog up. They also lied about an apology being given as they only placed blame on us and have continued to lie instead of making this right. I did not think an apology was too much to ask for in comparison to a thousand dollar vet bill. I also do not appreciate our full names being slandered on here because you are trying to cover up your wrong doings and we have only told the truth. I hope no one else has to go throw this with these terrible kennel owners. read more

NEVER again. Left our 4 y/o dog for 1 wk while we vacationed. We purchased boarding and daily doggy playtime. On pick up, we were told he had a good week. No issues. During the 10 to 15 min drive home, we noticed a stench in the back of the SUV. We then noticed our dog's backside was COVERED in dried poop. Our dog had never been in that condition before. It appeared as though he had been sitting for some time, in his own waste. Additionally, he was licking the condensation off the inside of the windows. When we got home, we immediately gave him water, which he could not seem to get enough of. A bath immediately followed. Throughout the day, he continued to drink water, but refused any solids. The following AM, he was vomiting. It was a slow road getting our canine family member back to his usual self. read more

I needed to board my dog Beau in a pinch over the holidays. He can be a bit overwhelming so my plans changed. I called around to a few area kennels and Aintree was willing able to accommodate Beau on short notice. It was really great for me and Beau. He wasn't neglected and was able to get exercise in as well. It was his first time being boarded and I was nervous leaving him behind but I worked with Jan, who was great. The process was was very professional and I was confident Beau was in good hands. I would definitely recommend Aintree to friends and I will be going back closer to the spring time to get Beau groomed. read more

We just started going here with our puppy Summer, for day care. She's 4 months old and we bring her for socializing. She's quite big so she is sometimes thought to be older. the staff really were good about picking gentle dogs for her to play with. They posted photos on FB of her making friends which was so nice to see. So far we are very happy! read more

We have been using Aintree Kennel for 14 years for our golden retrievers. We have had trips up to two weeks, and many shorter stays. We have been very pleased with the quality and caring service provided. We have never had any concerns. Great grooming service! read more

I have been taking our dog, Hank, to Aintree for the past 5 months. He goes to doggy daycare 2-4 days a week and have boarded him there a few times. As new dog owners, we were very nervous at first. I had a lot of questions and concerns-the staff put me at ease immediately. All of the staff members at Aintree has been amazing!! Everyone is so friendly and you can tell that they really enjoy their jobs. I have complete confidence that Hank is in the best hands when he is there. read more

Never again. Left my dog for a wk while on vacation. On pick-up, we were advised our 4 yr old did well and ate well. On the drive home, the car reeked. It soon became apparent our dog had dried poop roughy 6 inches around on his back side. Obviously had been sitting in his own waste, which NEVER has happened before. He was also licking the condensation off the windows in the SUV. Gave him water when home and he drank for the longest time. However, refused food. Next AM, still not eating and is vomiting. If you're thinking about boarding your pet here, think again!!! My recent experience at Aintree has me looking for a new kennel. A bit over a week ago I decided to get the family away for a quick 2 day excursion to Newport, RI. Called Aintree to make a reservation for the girls. They had space! Great! Dropped the girls off before 11:30 AM as instructed, confirmed pickup, was reminded that pickup was no later than 5:30 PM and headed off on our short getaway. We enjoyerd a very relaxing couple of days. Unfortunately, the relaxation did not last. On our return day, we ran into awful traffic in Braintree and all the way up through Boston we were at a crawl. From just Rt 24 to Rt 93 took more than an hour. Figured we still had plenty of time to get to the kennel before 5:30 but we would be cutting it close. On top of the traffic, there were severe thunderstorms in Boston which made bad traffic even worse! So driving now turns into clock watching. Finally hit Rt 125 in Andover at 5:15 PM and here's where the relaxing getaway comes to a screeching end. I called Aintree and a young girl answers the phone. Told her I was planning on picking up my dogs earlier but hit thunderstorms and bad traffic coming through Boston and was running a bit late. She advised that they will be locking the doors promptly at 5:30 PM and if I was not there then I could pick them up in the morning. Wow!!! I asked if they would wait 5-10 minutes for me because I was on Rt 125 in Andover headed there but I wasn't sure how long it would take to get there. Again I was told 5:30 PM. I asked again why they wouldn't wait for me and was put on hold so the girl could consult the owner. She came back a few minutes later and I was advised they would wait, but it would cost me $5 for every 5 minutes I was late. I asked if she was kidding but was assured she wasn't. Ok, so watch out yellow lights and stop signs cause I'm coming through. I arrive at 5:39 PM along with 2 other clients. The 3 kids jump out to come in and get the dogs. I end up waiting a couple of minutes because the woman owner is on the phone. While waiting a male who I had never seen before asks who I am picking up. Told him and he advises it wil be a $25 late fee. I protest saying I was only 9 minutes late and ask how that equals $25. He immediately raises his voice and starts asking me if I know how much it costs to stay open and wait for owners who are always late picking up. I told him I had called to let them know I had hit traffic and bad weather. He advises that he hears excuses every day. The conversation deteriorated from there. My kids 15, 13 & 12 there watching and listening. I ask to see the contract I signed stating what the late fee policy is. He says it's on the door. I ask again to see it as it was never explained to me. I wanted to see where I had signed acceptance of the policy. He can't produce a contract, or even a sign on the door stating there is a late policy. He says it's on his desk. Again I ask him to show it to me. He can't produce it and is getting more angry because of it. Eventually he calls me some derogatory names and tells me he's going to knock me on my backside. I step closer to him asking if this is how he treats a paying customer. He infoms me he doesn't care about customers. At this point I tell him I want to collect my dogs and will never be back. He refuses to give me my dogs and then proceeds to two hand shove me away. This sends my 13 year old daughter into hysterics and she runs out to get my wife from the car. The situation escalates from there with this person continuing to tell me how he could care less about customers & customer service. I continue to speak to him about how he is treating me and my family and he then reaches across the desk slaps my hand 3 times. At this point my wife says she is going to call the police. It's clear that they do not want 911 called so they call 411 and ask for the business office of the Boxford PD. He calls, ensures he has the business office and proceeds to report an unruly customer. His wife gets very nervous now and waives my late fee. Just pay your bill and leave she tells me. I advise I had been trying to do that for the last 20 minutes. Finally she collects my credit care, runs it through and he goes to get my dogs. I collect them and get them to the car just as the PD shows up. Of course he runs over and immediately gives his version of the situation (which is not at all accurate). Separate conversations with the PD take place and I ultimately leave having totally forgotten my relaxing 2 days. I will NEVER use this kennel again and suggest anyone planning to do so remember to NEVER EVER be late for pickup for ANY reason. read more

Love, Love , Love!! I have been taking my dog Buddy here for 2 years and have never had one issue with them. They love Buddy and are always excited to see him. When I pick him up, he doesn't urinate immediately like I've noticed when I have left him at other kennels. They are reasonably priced and always very friendly!! I drive over 30 minutes to drop my dog off there one way and will gladly continue to do so. I only wish they had more flexibility on Sunday (open from 4-6pm for pick-up/drop off) but otherwise, I couldn't be more pleased. read more

I have been bringing my somewhat timid 4-year old terrier mix to Aintree for boarding for several years. We started daycare there a year or so ago - just one day a week for socialization and playtime. The new owners and the entire staff are wonderful. They take time to individualize space and activities as to not overwhelm my low key dog. I had tried and left two other daycares (including some with rave reviews) before settling in comfortably with Aintree. Always clean, professional, caring and accommodating. Called to see if my handicapped dog could participate in some playtime in his wheels. I left several messages before finally getting to speak with the owner. She promptly said "no" followed by "that wouldn't be in his best interest." Thanks for making assumptions about my dog. The people at Aintree are great. I was so nervous to bring my new puppy somewhere and they all embraced them as their own. We go for training, daycare and boarding. Roscoe loves it there and comes home tired and happy because he's been with people that treat him like family all day. He even came home today dressed for Halloween and ready to play! read more

I left my dog here. PLEASE do not make the same mistake. He caught kennel cough, which I understand, even with vaccination, is an assumed risk. However, he caught kennel cough very early into his stay. He lost TEN POUNDS during his one week stay, and was extremely sick when we picked him up. Afterwards, the owners of this kennel lied to us about his condition (it would have been impossible, i.e. neglectful) for anyone to not notice how sick he was. Believing their lies, we delayed veterinary treatment. As a result, his borderline harmless kennel cough progressed into a life threatening bout with pneumonia. We were lied to about his ailment when he was picked up. When we brought this information to the owners of the kennel, they had the audacity to accuse our dog of making others sick (who had.been checked by a vet the week before.) This is a horrible place run by horrible people. DO NOT bring your dog here.If there's a way to message me via this website, I'll watch your dog for free. read more

I have boarded my Labrador here and she often stays the day for doggie day care and grooming. I've always been happy with Aintree and my dog always seems so happy when I pick her up. They are extremely friendly here, very accomodating, and really LOVE animals which is the most important thing. I would definitely recommend Aintree Kennel! read more

DO NOT CONSIDER AINTREE KENNEL FOR BOARDING OF YOUR PET!!! THE ONLY SERVICE THAT THEY PROVIDE TO YOUR PET IS NEGLECT!! Apprximately 2 weeks ago I trusted Aintree Kennels with the board of my Boxer. What a mistake on my part! They charge for services that are clearly not provided. I picked my dog up after being on vacation for 1 week with my family and spent the entire weekend crying and caring for a dog that was clearly neglected. My dog ended up at the vet approximately 1.5 hours after picking him up. When Aintree handed my dog over to me, I was appalled at the physical condition of my dog. He had grossly lost weight, every rib bone was visible and every bone in his spine you could count. I questioned them about this and their answer to me was that "he did not eat". I was handed approximately 1/3 of the food back that I hand supplied for the week. He was FILTHY!!!!! Smelled like urine and his paws were covered in waste. Informed them that i was not happy with the dog's condition and would be calling my vet. Mind the fact that I had never been contacted that there was a problem with my dog, the contact that I left was never contacted and the vet in which I provided info on was never contacted that he was not eating. When I finally got my dog home, i did not know whether to feed him or bathe him first. As i began to wash him, I noticed that every pad on his paws had open sores that were bleeding, he had a rash on his entire chest and open areas on his legs, so bad that fur was removed and raw to the skin. I immediately called them back and i asked to speak with the owner. She was not available. WHAT A SHOCKER!!! The manager called me back and flat out denied that my dog had any rash, raw or open areas. I told her that I had taken pictures and my dog was on his way to the vet to be seen. She spoke to me in a very sarcastic and threatening manner and told me that if I pursued any action that they had lawyers to handle this. I told her that I would be pursuing this legally and filing a complaint with the MSPCA. She told me to "go for it". My vet could not believe the condition of my dog!! My dog was clearly neglected! He weighed in at a 7 pound weight loss since his prior 6 month visit and was documented that he had significant muscle wasting. We had a full panel of blood work done on him to confirm thathe was not sick from illness. WHAT A SHOCKER,EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL!! Thank god we came home when we did or I most definitely would not have a dog today. THEY ARE A DISGRACE!!! NOT ONE OUNCE OF EMPATHY OR REMORSE ON THEIR PART. Never even checked the next day to see how he was. Aintree should be closed down!! read more
