When I picked up the bike, a Larry's technician certified it as ready to ride after a tune-up. Within minutes of riding it, the gears began slipping badly. The chain came off entirely shortly after. I took the bike to another shop, which diagnosed worn cassette, crankset, and chain -- components that don't wear out from minimal use. Either Larry's failed to notice this during multiple tune-ups, or they noticed and said nothing. Either way, the bike was certified as rideable when it was not. When I called Larry's to report this, rather than taking any responsibility, a staff member became belligerent and told me I was "ignorant." That response alone tells you everything you need to know about how this shop treats customers when something goes wrong. I ended up paying $180 in repairs to make the bike actually rideable. Incompetent work and rude staff when confronted about it. Go elsewhere.

So I went to a local bike shop in the east village call BikeFix and I really lucked up. BikeFixNYC is for anyone out there like me that spent several thousand for an ebike from California that has no support/mechanics here in NYC. Surron, Super73, Onyx, Ghostcat, Revv1, PowerGoat, you name it and BikeFix got you. They honestly do not disappoint. Plus they're honest and trustworthy. I brought my PG V3 for some new rear shocks and Greg did a phenomenal job. He also removed some pegs that I had difficulty with. I won't take my bike anywhere else!

I leave the shop again, and the back tire, just "fixed" is completely flat by the time I got home 5 blocks. I thought the shop was going to be OK, but I cannot recommend it. At no point should bolts randomly fling off your bike while you going down the Brooklyn bridge going 24mph. I'm a high school student and I had to pay for my bike with my own money. I've been working since 10th grade to help my mom because she is a single parent so for me the loss of about 5k including repairs leave me without transportation as I can not afford to repair it at this point. I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. From the owner Pete: OK, where are you going? (Direct email sent from owner) 1- Last Mile NYC replaces all of the electronics on your bike. The cost of the parts and labor is $2910.54 2- Send your bike back to Super73. They will do their own diagnosis, and determine the issues and fix the problems. Unfortunately your bike is not under warranty, the cost of packing up and freighting your bike to and from Super73 will be around $1200. Plus their diagnostic fee, parts and labor. BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I told them my headset needed tightening and then they just wheeled my bike to the back and started working on it. I asked if I could go get lunch and come back and they were like yeah. I came back and it was fixed. $10! They also put a screw into a part that was missing a screw but it fell off on my way home. So not 100%, but pretty great nonetheless.
