This company was good with getting us set up with a water softener for our home. Got us scheduled,…read morecame out and got things installed, the unit has worked fine ever since. The problem seems to arise when you have an issue and need them to be responsive! We are renting the unit - this is an intentional choice and comes from prior experience - we know our water is very hard and needs attending to. We chose to rent knowing that if we had problems with the unit a timely service call was only a phone call away... WRONG! I contacted this company for a service call - the first one we have needed so far - the lady on the phone assured me that they want to get to me as soon as possible! I called on Thursday and she said she wanted to try to get them out before the weekend so we didn't go without water softening all weekend. She tells me they will get back to me that same day about an appt. They do call me later that day but cannot see me until Monday. She felt badly that I would need to wait the few days but that was the soonest they had. I felt like this was very reasonable and made the necessary changes for the Monday appt to work with our schedule! My husband came home from work early to accommodate this need to have a service call during his business hours. We waited the entire 2 hour window that they give for their calls and no one shows up. I called to find out that the service call was actually scheduled for A Monday... but that Monday was another 2 weeks out!!! They told me I had the appt all wrong. How did I do this when they were so concerned about me making it through ONE weekend without soft water - now I had to wait 2.5 WEEKS! I have had to make NUMEROUS phone calls about this situation - each time I am told I will get a call back to get things situated but that call never comes. I am the one who has to reach out. The person on the phone can never answer the questions, they have to contact a different department, for instance, scheduling or service - which in theory is fine, except that they do not call you back. I believe this company has decent products - their softener has been nice for us - however, when you need service they are extremely lacking! Whether that is in customer service in general or the ability to get to their units in a timely fashion to get it serviced, it's been frustrating and undependable! Our unit completely malfunctioned and was running for 24 hours straight, burning up our well pump. Meanwhile we are dealing with terrible ramifications of now untreated water as we wait for service. This extended wait time is costing us as the hard water is damaging our laundry, surfaces, plumbing, etc... Just beware: servicing does not appear to be their speciality and takes at least 2+ weeks to accommodate established customers.

I've had this company install a water system for me twice now (should've learned after the first…read moretime). House #1: The water wasn't terrible, but it had an odor and a slight yellow tint. They recommended the $5,000 Kinetico CP Series system, so I went with it. I was told it would last 5 years with minimal maintenance--just adding salt and changing a filter every few months. When they installed the system, they ignored my request to use the basement slider and instead brought the equipment down the stairs, leaving rubber marks from the cart tires all over the steps. About 18 months later, the water quality declined again. When I called them out, they said the tank's media bedding had gone bad and needed to be replaced--for another $1,200. They blamed the water quality, saying if it were better, the system would've lasted as promised. (they only charged me 1 service fee though even though they stopped out twice) House #2: I (regretfully) went with the same Kinetico CP Series, though I was told it was slightly different this time. Apparently, the previous salesperson had been fired for making false promises and selling customers unnecessary equipment--a red flag I wish I had known sooner. I will say the new sales rep seemed honest and helpful. The system has now been installed for exactly 3 months. The salt level is fine, and the filters are clean. Despite this, the system suddenly stopped working. The water here is very hard and yellow, and it stains everything--so I called immediately to avoid further damage. They told me they couldn't send a technician for at least 4 weeks. Four weeks to address a failed water system in a home with extremely hard water is unacceptable. The technician who called me told me to bypass the system they installed, hoping that might help with the yellow water and staining. I'm no expert in water systems, but I do know one thing--if bypassing the system was the solution, I wouldn't have spent thousands of dollars on it in the first place. I bought the system to eliminate the yellowing, so how does turning it off make any sense?!? I strongly do not recommend this company. Poor product longevity and terrible support turnaround. Buyer beware.

Most recently, I had a small leak in an elbow connection that was in a pretty difficult spot to access. They were able to come out the same day, communication was excellent, and the repair itself took only about 30 minutes. The price for the service call was fair, the work was done quickly, and everything has been working perfectly since. It's nice to find a company that's reliable and responsive. Mark W

Despite saying, they offer free estimates, Town And Country pulled the permit and didn't even bother to go out and check the work or give me an estimate. They managed to fail not one, but TWO rough in inspections! Yes, Tim, the owner expects me to pay for his failed inspections. But it gets worse, three different electricians came in to do exactly what? They re-stapled some wires, and then put in two new outlets that the city didn't require, including one in another bedroom. When I called about the unnecessary work and inflated charges the owner, Tim, literally screamed at me over the phone. Unprofessional, condescending, rude and dismissive. I offer to make a partial payment, but he responded with more threats. He refused mediation. This bill is almost $1200. He threatened to put a lien on my house and actually that's the first thing he follow through on with great Efficiency. I've used this company before and have experienced their price gouging, but I was in a bind. they knew when I called them I was a blank check opportunity because only Town And Country Plumbing can call in for the Final Inspection. So I have a lien on my house and the permit is still opened. If anyone can help please reach out. Thanks. Obviously, I will never use them again and notice a trend of a lot of recent one star reviews! As you can see from other reviews the lack of coordination, communication, showing up, overinflated prices, etc is how Town and country operates.
