I came to Dr. Bier four years ago with an MPN blood cancer, and an immune system, digestive system,…read moreand respiratory system that were destroyed by an oral chemo drug. He set up a comprehensive, unique health plan for me (diet, supplements, exercise, and lifestyle) and I've stayed with it because I feel repaired and well- and there are no nasty side effects with this protocol! Dr. Bier always listens carefully and respects my views. He takes care of me in a holistic sense (mind, body, and spirit) and gets to the root cause of whatever ails me. Not only has he kept my blood cancer from progressing, but he has aptly addressed other health concerns such as osteoporosis, spinal alignment, and severe headaches over the last four years. All of this leaves me feeling very well! Thank you, Dr. Bier and HNNH Team!!

He is also quite frank, which may be off-putting to some but is appreciated if you want the possibly grim truth about your condition without being given false hope. However, if you are coming to him as someone who has received a fatal diagnosis, as my family member did, you will find his services dwindle as the patient does. And what I mean by that is the distinct impression that he will not be making money off of the patient after a certain point and becomes hard to reach when the going gets tough. He seems to give plenty of attention when you are still healthy enough to keep paying, but if you are terminal he tries to milk it up front. As my family member declined, he pawned us off on his staff instead of giving the direct attention he did in the beginning. But if you can afford the high cost of his care and are not terminal it's probably worth trying him out.

I am a 66-year-old woman who was suffering numerous maladies including indigestion (reflux,…read moreheartburn, stomach pain) and painful joints as well as a series of infections including double pneumonia and UTIs. What prompted me to seek professional help though, was a seizure which scared me more than any of the other symptoms. I had consulted with numerous doctors and specialists who, after many office visits and tests, provided temporary symptomatic relief but gave no answers or explanation for why I was having so many problems. My energy level was lagging and despite my age, my quality of life had declined severely over the previous 3 years. A friend had prompted me to make an appointment with Dr. Cora Rivard who had helped her considerably with a variety of problems she was experiencing. I had been taking Prilosec (omeprazole) for several years for my issues with indigestion. One of the first things Dr. Rivard addressed was the vitamin deficiencies I was experiencing due to long term use of that medication. As I suspected, many of these health issues were related and nutrition deficiencies were to blame. I cut back on the dosage of Prilosec and began a regimen of supplementation which brought my body back to the health I had enjoyed previously. Reflux, heartburn, and stomach pain went away. Joint pain virtually disappeared and infections are now a thing of the past. Dr. Rivard has worked with me to regain my health and encouraged me to become an important part of my own recovery. I recommend her and the approach she offers to anyone who is concerned about their health and well being.

It is now my go-to lunch spot when I need a delicious sandwich or a cold smoothie for the hot days. Overall service is wonderful and for it only being one person cooking and manning the front it is impressive how quickly I get my order. I've been coming here for a while if I just need something to keep me going throughout the day or sometimes when I just want a sweet treat(their smoothies are no joke)! I will continue going here for myself and would recommend this to anyone with any dietary restrictions or those who just want some REAL food thats healthy!

I strongly debated both whether to review Groton Wellness and whether to give it one or two stars…read more In the end, I decided that my experience warranted sharing my thoughts and giving it the lowest rating. The treatments themselves were good. However, the complete lack of any form of decent spa experience more than offset it. This place clearly is a stereotypical dentist-investor money grab by the doctors who own the practice that is the primary focus of this enterprise. As an initial matter, the website states that the spa is closed on Mondays prompted my calling to ask if they might allow me to use the sauna and the soaking tub on a Monday anyway because that was the day that I would be there from out of town. I was told that the tub and the sauna are open on Mondays. I agreed to the request to pay the full amount at the time of booking even though the website stated the policy of only collecting a portion of the fee at that time. This was more than one month before my visit. On arrival, there neither was anyone at the front desk nor any means of signaling that you are there. I waited at least a genuine five minutes before approaching the VERY surly woman in the back area of the cafe portion of the spa. She looked right at me and played the game of pretending that she did not hear me the first few times that I called out hello. The woman then grumbled about working on four orders; there was no one in the cafe. She came to the counter and told me that someone from the spa would be out in a minute. She easily could have looked for someone for me. Two women then came out from the back area. The blonde woman with the glasses was friendly enough. I first used the sauna, which was the better part of experience. There at least was a bench and a place to hang my clothes. The sauna felt good and therapeutic. The robe was worn, not soft, and too small to cover me without being very careful. Having to carry my clothes into the bathroom where the tub was located was not very spa like. My running a little early excused the tub only starting to get filled after my sauna. However, the small spa staff knew when I arrived and coukd have started the tub sooner. I had to wait in the very Spartan waiting area. There were a couple of uncomfortable wicker chairs and a few odd magazines. I also had to stress about my robe staying closed. For the record, I am 5'7" and 165 pounds. The tub itself was nice. However, I could have purchased the basic epsom salts that they used at Whole Foods or my warehouse club. The bathroom was chilly, lacked any good place for my clothes, or even a bench. The sink only had basis soap and paper towels. No nice hand lotions or other amenities. I can attribute the shower not working well to my not being able to figure it out. The shower being too small for me to fully get under the head, the water being tepid, and the soap being the Doc Bronners Castile soap that people use on camping trips is on them. The check-out process merely was "you've paid" and then walking back into the office area. There was not even the customary follow-up e-mail.
