I've been coming to this store since the early 2000's (I think they changed the name though) and I've always loved this place. It specializes in Korean brands, and while they are pricey, I've never had a bad thing to say about this place or the brands. The sales lady Deb was really nice and helpful. She welcomed me and my friend and answered my questions and was really polite! No offense to Koreans but from my experience at other places they are impatient, not grateful that you came to their place of business and ignore you most of the time if your not Korean. So for the lady at this place that mainly sells Korean products to be nice is great! The brand I use is Laneige since it's water based.It's not strong or harsh like Shiseido and some Kanebo products. They have tons of free samples from each line they carry so if you're not sure you want so spend the money ask for some and they'll give it to you for free. They also carry fake eyelashes and make up. I mainly go there for the facial products though because you can get the lashes and make up anywhere else. Unless your looking for Laneige or IOPE make up then this is the only place that has it. read more

If you're looking for a one stop shot for all the latest asian beauty care and trends, this is the place to be. They have a huge selection of products, and the store is pretty clean and well kept. There is a large chinese and korean community in the area, and the employees can speak both languages! The service is good, and the employees are nice. On this recent occasion I spoke with emily, who was really nice and patient for someone like me who sucks at picking beauty products for my girlfriend (she loved the products by the way). They helped me throughout the store to pick out what they thought she would like. Prices are decent but you pay for the quality of the products and the service. They usually have sales or deals going on for bundle product purchases and ill definitely stop by again if i need any help with beauty products. If you don't speak Chinese the employees will be of very limited help. The girl who helped me out seemed cheery, but not completely there..if you know what I mean. I asked her some basic questions, but overall she was unable to really promote any products to me. I don't really blame her as it's an Asian orientated place, but that really alienates your English speaking customers. Oh well. I came here to purchase a basic Laneige set of face wash, toner, and a moisturizer. It came out to about 80 dollars with tax! Laneige is both an affordable and great face wash set. I highly recommend it. I also had to ask the girl for samples, but she didn't seem reluctant to provide it. I've heard this Amore location can be stingy. The only real problem I had later was at checkout. After perusing more I decided to purchase their popular water sleeping pack (also by Laneige), which is $25.07 with tax. She asked me if I could pay with cash instead of card, but I told her no since I wasn't carrying any cash. She seemed uncomfortable but relented saying "it should be okay..." and then said quickly that it would cost me $30 dollars instead! She was unable to explain why. Ridiculous. Don't shop here! Worst Amore Pacific store I've been to. The person who runs this store doesn't have a clue what she's selling, She doesn't speak much English either...so unless you can speak Mandarin, you're better off researching the products off the internet. I purchased a skincare set and decided to return it the next day because it didn't feel right on my skin (I had asked for samples before purchasing but they didn't have any). Came back and was told by a man (who spoke in broken English AND he didn't work there) that the person running the store wasn't there because SHE WAS GETTING HAIR EXTENSIONS and he couldn't do anything for me because he didn't know how to use the system. (SUCH BS!) Customer satisfaction is non-existent here; their return policy is very strict. They won't take any opened items back even if you've only tried it once. This is a great store. I've come here many times to purchase my Laneige products. (since they're Korean and almost impossible to find anywhere else) The sales lady are perfect, exactly how I want my sales ladies to be- cheerful, non-pressuring, and super helpful. Talk about being told one thing and getting another. I found this place by word of mouth. Now that I am in the SGV, I have more choices for skin care and make up. In particular, the Korean brands work wonders on my fair Asian skin, so I do keep my ear to the ground when I hear good deals about this stuff (as I tend to spend several hundred dollars in one outing). Anyways, my niece's college classmates swear by this store, and for the prices I was told THEY were paying and the good word of mouth, I decided to check shop. Lo and behold, this is a TRUE diamond in the rough in terms of prices. Even better, they offer member discounts for added savings on your next purchase. *So, you are asking, why the 1-star when I should be giving it 5stars? - After my initial purchase I am told that when I sign up, that I can get an additional discount on my next purchase. One week later, I am back, and not only do they not have my information on file, they will not honor the discount on a new purchase, even when I show them my receipt with my credit card name on it. I get it, it happens, the sales people aren't trained by a corporate office, this is a small hole in the wall. - 2 days later, I come back and see if they have found my info after RE-INPUTING my information to get the membership discount. *NOT ONLY am I told that the discount price is wrong by the new sales person I am dealing with, when she calls the original sales person who dealt with me on the phone, THAT sales person completely denies everything I told her. I know I should speak some Mandarin, but I don't. what I CAN tell is when someone is giving me the run around in any language. As I learned in Spanish, " me estan viendo la cara." And I am STILL not in the system with my member number to get the discount, nor will they honor it without me as a member. That's it, I am done. New management totally changed the shop. New products, new manager, new style The owner has changed and the new owner Emily is super friendly and very knowledgeable. She is not like any other cosmetic shop sales. Emily truly wants to help the customer to solve their problems and she recommends the products that is really need for them. I asked why she was so knowledgeable with so many different brand products and she told me she used to work in cosmetic fields for 10 years. Which makes sense how she catches all the troubles that I am having with my skin!!! I always loved korean products since it really works well to clear up the skin troubles. I have many other friends who started using amore's products and they love it. I bought IOPE's cushion foundation from this store and its super convenient. (IOPE is the firs t company to make cushion foundation) I can fix my make up whenever I want without making my hands dirty. I came here specifically to get more Darkness eyelashes and love that they provide discounts if you buy a lot of them (buy 3 get 1 free)! I didn't really get to look through their skin care stuff, so can't say much about it. Service was OK. I was greeted right away even though she was with a customer. The girl that worked there gave me my space and didn't follow me around like most Asian places do. However, when I asked if they had a specific style (showed her a picture, too) cause I couldn't find it, she just pointed to the shelves and said, "whatever's out there is all we have." Really? Don't shop here unless you want to be ripped off. They just assumed I was unfamiliar with Korean cosmetics and tried to charge me $60 for the Sulwhasoo BB cushion WITHOUT a refill pack. All Amore Pacific owned brand BB cushions come with a refill pack but not according to the lady at this store. Why would I buy anything from this shady store when the better Amore Pacific BB cushion at Sephora is the same price and is guaranteed to come with two refill packs? Everything else (like the KissMe Heroine Make Mascara) is overpriced compare to what you can get on Amazon even with shipping. This place also wanted me to pay in cash and said it'll be $5 extra for using a credit card. I've been going to this Amore store for a couple of years now. Everytime the sales lady is very friendly and helpful. They aren't pushy and let me try out products in store and explain which one fits my skin type. I switched from American Sephora brands to Korean Amore brands and I love it. Theres less chemicals and perfume I see alot of improvement in my skin. This store also gives samples to try without purchase so I didn't have to commit to the product before seeing how it works on my skin. The testers are organized and clean with various selection of colors and brand. I would highly recommend Rowland Amore for its convenient location, good service, and great products :) read more
