It was easy to spot with a bright, hot pink banner in front (picture below). Perhaps this banner wasn't here before when others commented on the difficulty. Excited to even be here, though I wish I could see the inventory in person! It would be heavenly. Alas, I came on the wrong day. Just got my goodies! She double checked my products to the order slip in front of me to verify. I almost walked out with an extra 9 masks if we hadn't checked- would have been oh no for imomoko, but yay for my skin. The girl on the phone said the shipping charge would be credited back via payment method or can be used as store credit. I would like to confirm which is going to happen. I asked the other lady in person about getting shipping refunded. We'll see. She didn't quite know what to say to me as she wasn't fluent in English... So I'll be emailing. I've been buying on the site for many years, and their system, marketing, support are just deficient. There were a couple times when I check out, the promo codes don't work properly or I can't check out, period. Their marketing material is also not accurate. Very recently, the poster had $79 for one of the products, but it was $89 in the check out. So I followed up with the customer support. They said there's an error. Without providing me with any more information, they changed the price of the item to $100. I asked them if they would honor the previous price, they said they cant and offered to cancel my order. I mean, if I want to ended up not buying anything, why would I waste my time to check out, and contact customer support for correction? As mentioned by many other reviews, their support is not helpful at all. You really need to be careful when shopping on this site, I would probably not realize the price was off if I checked out a bunch of the products. read more

iMomoko is a very unprofessional and shady company who scams customers into advertising for them for free. I ordered over $200 of SKII skincare products because they advertised a 7 piece free gift of SKII travel samples with purchases of over $150 for a promotion. When my order arrived today there was no gift inside of the box, instead, there was a postcard in Chinese which stated that in order to get the free gift, I will need to either 1. Post a video of me opening the box on Weibo (Chinese social media) and tag them. 2. Post a picture of me unboxing it on WeChat (chinese facebook) and tag them and send them a screenshot. And even then I will only receive my free gift with my NEXT order. I double-checked the website and there was no disclaimer saying additional steps were necessary to get what I ordered. I then chatted customer service who then pretended that the missing items were a mistake (It was not a mistake the postcard in Chinese clearly says so.) Customer service asked me if they can ship with my next order, and I said no, and then they said they will ship it to me, but with no tracking. (I will update if it actually comes, if no update, it didn't come.) This company is tricking its Chinese customers into advertising for free, and for everyone who can't read their postcard and advertise for them, they just won't get the bonus items that they spent extra money to qualify for. I used to shop a lot in imomoko.com until I realized that it is a huge mistake I made. I had a really really bad experience with the website and will never come back again. I brought 2.5OZ SKII essence there. It was advertised on the website that there is a big discount on this product. So I brought it. Yes, it is a big discount on the price, but also on the quality. The product was made in the beginning of 2013. Now, it is the end of 2014. It will expire on the next year. So I have to use it as soon as possible if I still expect the toner in a good condition. I can't believe that they sell stuff like two years ago. Everyone knows how important the freshness is for the skin care product. It will lose its function when you keep there for a long time, even though you don't open it. Also, the return service of the website is just a fake thing. Once you buy a stuff from the website, not matter that it is broken or expired, you can never return it. Because, they never take returns. There is an online return form that makes you think if you fill it , explain the reason why you want to return, you will get response from the customer service. Wake up, ladies!! I have ordered from this site several times before and never really had a problem until this time. I placed an order last night, and quickly realized that I made a mistake on my order. I quickly emailed them that I needed to cancel the order because I knew if I waited too long, it would have already been sent to the warehouse. I never heard back on my initial request, so I emailed again this morning...again nothing. After these attempts, I finally decided to call them to check on my cancellation status and was told that it was cancelled. Thankfully, I didn't try to create another order correctly because a couple hours later I finally get an email saying that it couldn't be cancelled because my package was already packed and at the shipping dock. To top things off, they weren't very apologetic about not being able to fulfill my request nor did they provide an explanation for providing the wrong information. I have been shopping here for years. Actually before I shopped here, my boyfriend ordered BB cream for me from here. Personally, I have never had any customer service problems. Shipping is fast, because the company is based in California. So it is a shame to see such low ratings due to previous unfortunate events. The reason why I love shopping here is because it is truly a one stop shopping experience. I can find almost anything I want here, even products I just found in recent Japanese magazines. This brings me to my next point, the pricing. The prices here are very reasonable and with free shipping over $50 and shipping out for CA makes it irresistible. I know some people choose to shop from Sasa or other overseas websites, but I am such an impatient person waiting for my shipment for over a month is unbearable for me. Yay! I just stopped by this store around mid afternoon today! I must say I am in love with it already! I agree it's hard to find their store, because it's in an industrial building with many other stores. Let just say, all the buildings exterior was pitch black from what i remember (like the glass doors and windows), and you could pass by it accidentally (like i did). And their store was more towards the end, so it took me awhile to find Suite E. However, I'm still giving this place 5 stars just because: 1. The Manager/Boss was so nice and generous, was not trying to give me a hard time or making me buy anything else that I may eyed on but don't really want, and was concern on the things I needed that may suit me. She suggested her own opinion, and I had a great time communicating with her! 2. They HAVE WIDE selection of products and brands for me to choose. I am so glad I found out about this particular store from youtuber MisoJenny (even though I thought they only had an online site)! *love!* 3. The Manager was able to tell me exactly what they have in stock when I called before I went in to buy my stuff. The main thing I wanted was the Shiseido Senka SPF 50 PA+++, and I had a hard time finding it at ANY Japanese store. I go to iMomoko for Japanese brands like Rohto Hada Labo, Kanebo, SK-II, etc. There are other online options, but I liked the idea of supporting a smaller shop. They also have frequent sales on select brands. Here's the great thing about my first order: I only ordered one item; The package arrived with 2 free Face Q cloth masks! These were probably about $1-4 each, and I really appreciated the chance to try out a new product. Here's the amazing part about my second order: I ordered some bb cream on August 2; The package arrived on my doorstep on August 3. The prices are comparable to what you'd pay at other retail stores, but she did give me a 10% discount for mentioning Yelp. They offer a wide range of Asian skincare products/brands but I advise that you call ahead for product availability if you plan on stopping in. Like, I wanted to just swim in all their products. I've never seen SO much stuff! This place is literally a warehouse, there are workers packing boxes from people who order stuff online and other people organizing products. They are open on Saturday's, which is perfect. The area is around a lot of other warehouses and the area is kind of cutty. Ring a doorbell, and you are in. They are very helpful, but I just wanted to look around for myself. I ended up picking out over $200 worth of products, they gave me an additional 20% off on top of that plus samples and a coupon. I really wish I could just buy everything in the warehouse. There are so many boxes with things inside I wasn't able to see them all. They gave me a list of the item numbers and pricing. Credit cards accepted and plenty of parking outside. I placed two orders the in same week, over Valentine's Day weekend. The first order arrived relatively quickly within a few days. However, it was the wrong item. I contacted them and so far nothing; no apologies, and I'm still unclear on how they want to rectify the situation. I didn't want a substitute item and still want the item I ordered. The second order has not yet been shipped, it's been almost two weeks, no ship notice, no response to inquiry. If it takes this long to ship, that's another bad sign. If I didn't need these items or if I know of an alternative vendor, I would have gone there instead. My rating reflects poor/lack of customer service and slow/erratic shipping practice. I've heard a lot about good things about iMomoko on youtube. The owner of iMomoko sends gurus free products to review and display. Nothing about my experience with iMomoko was positive however. It's a long story but I will try to make it as short as possible. I placed an order for HadaLabo SHA Lotion LIGHT along with some facial masks at iMomoko, I received my order quickly as they are located in Los Angeles, CA. I took the plastic off all the products to take blog pictures. After taking off the plastic, I noticed the small English ingredient translation label on the back of the HadaLabo Lotion said ENRICHED. I could not read the front of the HadaLabo lotion because it was in a different language. I filled out the customer service form at iMomoko to ask if I had the right product. iMomoko said they sent the wrong product. The CS told me to return the ENRICHED lotion and they would send me the correct LIGHT lotion. It seemed to me that this meant the business wanted me to send the wrong product back first and then they would send the correct one after they had gotten the item on my end first. I really did not want to go to the post office, and I only wanted to know if I had the correct product. However, before I could reply to the email and say no thank you, iMomoko sent the correct lotion. Normally, such quick action would be the sign of a good business but I never agreed to a return. I emailed CS about the new package, letting her know that I had taken the plastic off the wrong bottle already, and asking her what I should do. Without apologizing for any of their mistakes, iMomoko asked me to return the new unopened bottle that they should have sent in the first place. The CS instructed me to say just return to sender. I was annoyed because it's hard for me to go to the mail office with my schedule. I took it there anyways and the mail office said I had to pay for shipping. I could not just say return to sender as iMomoko had instructed. It was a waste of time. I emailed iMomoko about what happened, and CS agreed to refund the shipping costs. At this point, I was upset and I let CS know how troublesome it was to me. iMomoko finally apologized and gave me a measly 10% code. I finally sent the package and was glad to have it off my hands. I then got this confusing email this morning, saying that iMomoko sent out the right stuff and they will send it again. What?! It was like CS had totally forgotten her own instructions towards me. iMomoko wanted me to send the new correct lotion back and I did. I did not want that package back. I did not want to go to the post office again. A good seller would have just let you keep both of the lotions in apology for all of the mistakes in the first place. I emailed iMomoko back and reminded them of the situation. CS replied with two words, "I see." Really? I've never dealt with worst customer service. I will never buy from iMomoko again. The seller has a terrible attitude and no sense of customer relations. I found the customer service to be unapologetic. I wish I had not taken the plastic off the HadaLabo lotion that first night, but I had no reason to think I had the wrong bottle and was excited to take pictures. I could not read the language on the front of the bottle so I had no way of knowing if I had the correct lotion until I saw the small label on the back. EDIT: to respond to owner comment: I never opened the 2nd package you sent me. I do not know why it included my entire order instead of just a toner. When I originally wrote to customer service, I only wrote about my toner. So your company must have just sent my entire order by mistake. I did not know the contents of the 2nd package because I never opened it, I assumed it just had the toner so I shipped it back. I will not change my review. I do not care for the offered " I can offer you 20% off towards your next purchase and I can also send you something you like from our store (for a value of $20). I hope this could make up your bad experience and time wasted in the past. I am very sorry about it." I still had a very awful customer service experience and this email just points out more errors. I came into the warehouse store and asked if there was a gift for over $50 since it was advertised on J-goods. The skinny girl replied that there was no promotion going on. I was like, OK. But I still took a look at the store as they offered a variety of Japanese/Taiwanese skin care products. The whole experience was like office employees trying to sell you brand-name skin are products. It was first time ordering from Imomoko. I ordered Etude Any Cushion. The shipping was super fast. I ordered it on Friday, shipped on Friday, and got it on Monday. However my product's case had some scratches. I could tell the product was new ( it was sealed) but somehow the case had noticeable scratches. I contacted customer service with pictures. I felt like the case was on display or something. Since they sell the refill I thought maybe they use the displayed case with new refill. Then it is technically new? I wanted to know if it is really new. I called to make sure they got the email. I got the response in an hour after the call. First response said it is new and offered me $4 credit for next purchase. I said i didn't make an account i checked out as a guest. Next email said she will refund the money (without shipping fee) and want me to keep the product. I was gonna get the refill if i like the product. But i think i will just throw the case away and get a new Etude Any Cushion next time. I am considering ordering from this website because it carries a product (Sheet Masks from a specific brand) that I want to try. Unfortunately, their website is annoying to maneuver (difficult to continue shopping after you add items to the cart) and the minimum purchase for free shipping is so high. I'm somewhat reluctant to purchase over 99$ worth of merchandise with an online store that I have never purchased anything from. In addition, most of the positive reviews are old and are only really because the owner steps in to try to remedy things. I will never shop with imomoko again! I spend $150USD, i got poor customer service. I paid them on the spot and then 2 days later a confirmation saying order is waiting for back order. So out of the 4 items 3 were out of stock. I emailed them to find out how long, reply took forever, finally a response after me sending 6 emails with the same message. They emailed a week later. Poor service. To make this short, I ended up waiting 2 months to receive all 4 products, 2 items of the same product was opened, the eyeshadows it was. They looked like they were used. The brush was tampered and the eyeshadow smeared. Yuck. I emailed them and they never replied again. Do not buy from them again. Or buy with your own caution. read more
