Yesterday, I went in to your West Covina location, sans appointment to ask about pricing. I paid $33 for my eyebrows to be waxed and sculpted, and my lip waxed. That's an excellent price, especially for me to have a professional fix my eyebrows. My professional was Robin. Let me tell you, I get stuck with a lot of rushed, surly workers to do anything from my eyebrows (threading) to my nails. I hate it. I don't expect someone to entertain me, but that awkward space between stilted conversation leaves a sort of bonding cut short. Robin reminds me of my hairdresser, whom I followed from her previous place of employment because my husband and I loved her skills and her personality. Robin laughed with me, she advised me, with knowledge, not like she's trying to sell me the most expensive product, but like she was trying to save my from myself (thank God, I don't buy makeup, so she was my damn savior). She was able to show me where I went wrong with my plucking, what needed to be grown out, how to outline and fill in. Basic stuff for some women, but I'm not one of them, so it was so, so wonderful of Robin to not make me feel like an idiot for asking those questions. I'll be back every month for a touch up from Robin, because a) I like not having to do it myself, but mostly b) it's nice to experience a professional artist who wants to ply her skill and teach others how do it, too. He told me he didn't have time to fit me into his schedule that week but said he would get back to me. I told him that was completely understandable and was willing to wait. Unfortunately, it is now June 12, and I have not received any follow-up communication. In the meantime, my extensions have continued to fall out. I paid $350 for the maintenance appointment, during which a few additional pieces were added to the front. The new pieces do not match the extensions that were previously installed, making the difference noticeable. I was hoping this issue could be resolved directly, but after waiting a month without any response, I felt it was important to share my experience.
