    Carlo's Trattoria - Cheese Ravioli

We were excited to try Carlos's Trattoria after looking at the menu online, but unfortunately our…read moreexperience didn't live up to expectations. We were greeted by a friendly host, but as we were walked to our table it was hard not to notice how dirty the floors were. The atmosphere itself seemed like it could be nice, but the cleanliness was hard to overlook. I ordered manicotti, which is usually a tube of pasta stuffed with cheese, but what arrived looked more like a lasagna noodle rolled up with a small amount of cheese and very bland sauce. Another order at our table was a stromboli that wasn't very appealing and didn't seem freshly made, especially since we were told an ingredient couldn't be removed. The Caesar salad was good, though that's admittedly hard to mess up. Our waitress seemed either shy or simply uninterested. After bringing our food, she never came back to check on us, even though the restaurant wasn't busy, so there really wasn't an opportunity to mention the issues we had with our meals. We really wanted to like this place and support a local restaurant while visiting the area. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark, and if we're back in town we'll likely stick with a chain. We won't be returning.

Today we took advantage of their BOGO DEAL. We ordered a Buffalo Chicken Pizza and a Build Your Own Pizza, on the build your own I requested Banana Peppers and added on extra sauce and extra cheese. Definitely didn't have extra cheese. It's reasons like this that we don't frequent them more than we used too.

What turns me off and what I REFUSE to do is click deeper into the link as though I am placing an order so as to expose the pricing. If you have little confidence in posting your pricing up front, then I have no confidence in placing an order. And just so you understand, you normally only have one chance at setting a good impression. If however, you squander that opportunity while being up front and transparent during the onset, then you forfeit the chance & opportunity to set a good impression up front while lacking any chance to do so after the fact. I came to your site as a First Timer with all the intentions of placing an order. However, after wasting my time looking for any pricing, I left empty handed and doubtful I would ever return and attempt placing an order a second time. Your poor choice and decisions to be less transparent with your menu failed to garner you a potential customer.

Gotta love that. Turkey aviator was toasted and cheese melty. It was good. A sea of lettuce. The tomatoes could have been larger or more prominent. I like tomatoes. I've had a few different salads, some of their soups, and their chicken salad. All pretty good. Again, I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Service is friendly and prompt. Food comes out quick. Place is clean. Deep booths and middle tables. Dark wood. Light atmosphere. Nice patio. For a quick sandwich soup type of deal you can't go wrong.

We must've been on the back end of the busy lunch out. Maybe perfect timing! Not. Here's where it gets odd. It took 20 minutes for someone to come greet us once we were seated. We ordered a grinder, a chicken salad, a kids pizza, and a few bowls of French onion soup. It must've taken at least 45 minutes to receive our food. My wife and I just ate half our meals and headed for home to get our other young guys from the bus. I finished the grinder for dinner that evening. Around 9 p things went super sideways. My stomach was destroyed. I feel like my gut is generally pretty strong but this recked me. My wife wasn't feeling well. We looked at each other and with the two of us both in bad shape we did the math. Must have been some spoiled meat. I was up all night with all the fun (graphic) symptoms of food poisoning. Feeling much better today. Hind site is always 20/20 but I would never take my family back to Grinders. We should have saw some red flags but we didn't. Terrible experience. Couldn't recommend this one to an enemy.
