The day of my wedding, she had extremely poor planning and time management, and decided it was smart to start me, the bride, last. That resulted in me literally being late, with her rushing to finish. The end result was a mess, it was awful. When I texted her photos afterwards politely expressing my disappointment (with trial and wedding photos attached), she did not offer to refund me but instead offered to redo my hair and makeup again for wedding photo retakes - strange, as how I clearly could not retake photos from that day and had no plans to pay tons of money for another post-wedding photo shoot?? Would have preferred my money back. Or better planning to begin with.

I have somewhat difficult hair to style, and she worked with it as much as she could, never forcing it into something unrealistic. The final look came together beautifully. The winds picked up a lot throughout the day (way more than we expected!), and somehow my veil clip stayed perfectly secure the entire time. That alone felt like magic. I had so many people complimenting me on the street, and I can honestly say I've never felt more beautiful. I really appreciated how upfront she was about her needs and expectations ahead of time--there were no surprises on the day of. She was communicative and professional throughout the entire process, had me ready on time, and I never once felt rushed. My make-up, and the make-up of my bridesmaids, mother, and mother-in-law looked absolutely perfect: everyone looked beautiful and special without being too 'done up' and 'wedding-y.' She has true vision: she was able to take what we asked for and make it even better than we could have imagined. The hairstylist she brought with her (Jo) was also perfect! 2) The make-up and hair looked good ALL NIGHT!! I even looked good at the hotel bar AFTER the wedding! 3) Stacie was able to adapt to changing circumstances. Technical skills are great, but if you can't get the job done in time, it is for naught. Stacie and Jo arrived at the hotel over 30 minutes early (because they know how important the big day is, and they didn't want to be late if they got lost) and they got started right away. Timing wise, they had planned everything perfectly. However, there were some bumps in the road from my wedding party on the big day: one person who had adamantly said that she did not want make-up decided that she did indeed want make-up, and then numerous people showed up with wet hair. Not only did they STILL manage to get everyone done on time, both Stacie and Jo were such good sports about the whole thing. 4) The pricing was extremely fair: if anything, it was a bit of a steal given how great of a job they did and how wonderful they were to work with. 5) Stacie (and Jo) are just lovely women. Before meeting them, I wasn't thrilled at the prospect of having to do a trial hair and make-up run, but I actually had SO MUCH FUN with them!! And having them around when we were getting ready for the wedding just made everything better: they were just lots of fun and put everyone at ease. EVERYONE in the bridal party commented about how much they loved Stacie and Jo. I have had my hair and make-up done before, but I have never had such a good experience. She came early and did her job well. The one star is because of the other artist who did not bring her makeup. Yes, you read that right. The makeup artist did not bring her makeup kit other than some foundation and setting spray. The experience was so poor it greatly outweighed any positives we experienced with the other artist. Rather than taking care of it herself, she went around asking two other makeup artists we hired from another company if she could use their makeup supplies. That created an uncomfortable environment because they were put in a difficult spot of rightfully not wanting to lend their professional supplies to a stranger, but also not wanting to make it a bigger scene on someone's wedding if they said no. I had to pause my own bridal makeup and hair session to try to find any makeup I had around my parent's house she could use. I think about an hour in was when she finally decided to Doordash some makeup when she should have done that the moment she realized she didn't bring her supplies. She started the first bridesmaid makeup at 7:30 and at 9:30 (which was our planned end time) she had still not finished. We moved onto the second bridesmaid's hair at 9:30 and that seemed to go a lot smoother luckily. When the Doordash order came, there was no lipstick because I guess the store was out of stock of the shade she chose. The makeup artist also did not seem to have much experience or perhaps she was so nervous that she could not do makeup the way she normally might because I heard them trying work on her eyeliner for about 20 minutes due to it repeatedly not coming out right and saw the makeup artist asking a lot of questions when most could probably be figured out just by looking at the makeup inspo picture. It was also uncomfortable that she went into detail about forgetting her makeup kit because she recently started seeing a doctor for ADHD and started new medication 1 month ago. I don't think this is something she needed to share with us. One of my bridesmaid said during her session several different TMI excuses were brought up as well. Ultimately, we left at 10:10am, 40 minutes later than planned, with one bridesmaid still unsatisfied with her makeup (we could not wait any longer) and the other bridesmaids uncomfortable with her lack of professionalism. I'm sure there were likely other things that went wrong. These are just the things I noticed as the bride who was busy getting her makeup and hair done myself. I did hear from a bridesmaid that we would not be getting charged for her services, but I did not hear this myself directly or received any communication from bfab about this experience.

I was preparing to tell her how I wanted to change the trial makeup to something more pink, but that morning, Jessie brought up the idea of changes to me first! She suggested a pink look would look better and I was impressed because I felt the same way. I appreciated that Jessie spoke out about what she thought would look better on me; I felt like she had my back! In total, we had 11 people who needed both hair and makeup. I was worried that it would take a very long time, but Jessie and her two assistants run like a well-oiled machine! Started at 8am, done by 1230pm! All my girls looked beautiful!! The makeup lasted all day! Jessie even gave me a little pouch of materials for touch up, but I didn't need it! My hair also stayed in place all night long! She even taught my bridesmaids how to help put on and remove my veil without messing up my hair or the flowers in it! She knew how to solve any and all makeup/hair issues with no problem; it was obvious that she's very knowledgeable and experienced. I would HIGHLY recommend her for any event!
