The staff here definitely needs training in customer service. I placed a pick up order through Uber eats, so it can be ready when I got there. I have a pup and wanted to eat outside. I get there 15-20 min after I placed the order. No greeting, but I asked one of the staff and he said he was finishing preparing it. So I waited thinking it'd be done in a few. 10 min pass, I go outside to check on my pup. I go back and I ask another employee. She doesn't say anything goes to the guy, then continues to do other stuff. Doesn't even go back to me to give me an update. Mind you several customers walked in and got their orders. I go back outside with my pup, wait another 10-15 min. Then I go to the guy who said the order would be ready, he looks at me confused... then I asked if it was ready. He then says the eel is defrosting. I said that would have been nice to know beforehand, I would have cancelled that order or chose something else. Then I said can I at least have my poke bowl, he says oh the octopus is defrosting. This point I'm a little irritated and tell him it would have been nice if you let me know instead of waiting. The other guy behind him looks at me like I was buggin cuz I kept coming back and takes his air pods off and asks what going on?! Anyways, I told him to replace the octopus with salmon and that I didn't want the eel musubi anymore. Customer service was def lacking! I enjoy going to the old town Scottsdale location. But, this location seemed to skimp more of the toppings. I asked for extra rice and was only given a tiny bit more. My non-fish eating, friend really enjoyed the fresh grilled teriyaki chicken breast on rice bowl for $10. It was his first time at a poke restaurant, but loves Panda Express and Chinese food. I love a good poke bowl but unfortunately this wasn't it for me. I got a bowl with two scoops of shrimp and half white rice half kelp noodles for the base. The kelp noodles were definitely not my favorite. This was my first time trying some so I don't have any others to compare them against, but in my opinion they were bitter and weirdly crunchy in some parts. The bowl overall also lacked a lot of flavor. I got their house sauce and a little bit of their spicy creamy sauce, and ended up having to add about three entire packets of soy sauce just so my bowl would have a little bit of flavor. Staff was friendly but I don't think I'll be back. Might have been an off day but there was truly very little I enjoyed about my meal. read more

My guess since the guys in front of me and the one behind me unsure of how or what to order.. the staff was less then helpful .. they got one word answers and no guidance I get it there's a big sign with steps and all options listed there but when you see people clearly confused you can dumb it down and help them and hopefully that earns you a repeat customer. A large bowl is three scoops of fish and a regular is two scoops. I like to get the large bowl with half brown or white rice and half greens. For protein, I like to get two scoops of the blazing salmon and spicy tuna or tuna luau with all the toppings and the house sauce snd spicy creamy sauce. Avocado is the only topping that is extra which we don't get and that will be the second thing they ask if you want after choosing your base. I recommend signing up for their rewards program. We ordered two large pokè bowls the first time we went and during our second visit today got $7.50 off our purchase just from our one visit! Their meals are always great. I think they have gotten better at cooking their rice. Sometimes the rice would be dried out or undercooked or overcooked. Not this time. I noticed that at some of their stores they have directions listed for the cooking of their rice now. I personally like the blazing salmon and the spicy tuna. the other proteins are probably also pretty good. I tried their octopus once and it wasn't chewy but it had no flavor. I don't eat octopus much so I can't say what it was supposed to taste like. The spicy tuna and blazing salmon are good for those who like spicy food. The house spicy is salty and spicy. The spicy mayo is sweet and spicy as well. I would recommend the house sauce for those who don't like spicy food. Generally the atmosphere is quiet and I like that. The tables are generally clean. The water from the fountain could be as bit fresher. the service is fast and the business model is like a Chipotle where you build your own meal in sense. read more

Having grown up in Hawai'i, I'm pretty picky about poke and am always on the lookout for solid places on the mainland with fish quality and portion sizes always at the front of my mind. I was pleasantly surprised to find Ahipoki near the place we are staying and came to this location a couple times this month. My order is a large poke bowl with two scoops of salmon and one scoop of spicy ahi on rice with sesame oil and their house sauce and a bunch of sides. The order process is straight-forward but I made a mistake the first time and agreed to a scoop of avocado before I knew it cost extra. The sauce is a little light for me but the portions are pretty decent for mainland standards and the fish tastes fresh. We tried another poke spot in the area and definitely preferred Ahipoki over the other in terms of taste and portions. This spot is on a busy street in line with several other restaurants and a limited parking situation, but there are some spots designated specifically for take out if you are done in 10-20 minutes (I can't remember off the top of my head, but it's enough time because the order process is pretty quick). Overall satiated my poke cravings while in Arizona and for that I am super thankful! Recommend and will continue to come back. (: read more

Customer service was better they can still improve with some smiles. I went ahead and upped them to 3 stars because the first time at this location they were able to help my mom because they knew Spanish. Today they were helpful with my friend since it was her first time they were patient answering her questions and giving her suggestions. It's not bad but it's not great either. I probably won't come back. I wish there was a little more sauce it was kinda dry for me. I eat sushi at least 3-5 times a week as I work in a sushi restaurant. The yellowtail is extra and a bit concerning. When I bit into it, it was hard in the middle. The rice wasn't cooked all the way either some of it was hard as well. I didn't finish my food I'm kinda hoping I don't get sick. read more
