Recently moved to the area and was in need of a groomer. I called around and practically no one was willing to see my two yorkies and take them on as new clients. I called Ahead of the Pack and they were very accommodating and willing to find a day that worked for both of us (I have a weird work schedule) Day of appointment: I brought my two yorkies in and met with the groomer and ran down what I wanted. I was super nervous considering this was our first appointment. It took about an hour to get them all shaped up. When I picked them up they were absolutely perfect. Perfect hair cut and their faces were perfectly shaped up. I was very happy with everything and the amount of time it took to get them groomed. I finally found my new groomer! read more

Doggy & Kitty Style is a cute little boutique that carries a variety of treats, toys and fashion for pets. Although they didn't have the waterproof collars I was seeking, the woman working in the store (not sure if she was an owner?) sounded quite interested and said she would look into them as we enter the swimming months. She also had several unique product suggestions for durable bone-type items for my unbelievably powerful chewer of a cairn terrier. I went with the deer antler, and judging by the fact that my little furry friend has been guarding it with her life since I brought it home, she was on the right track. Absolutely love this place. I have been taking my 2 dogs here for grooming since 2015 and have had nothing but great experiences. I actually now drive from Delco just to get my dogs groomed because of how awesome the groomer is. I've also found great dental stuff, treats for my dogs and clothes. The owner is phenomenal too. I took my 7 month old puppy for his first grooming here and it couldn't have been a better experience! Gretchen started playing with him right away and took time to talk to me about his cut. The woman behind the counter was also helpful and friendly, which added to my comfort level. The biggest pro of grooming here is that dogs come in one at a time so the grooming process isn't taking 3-5 hours like other places I've been with my last dog. So your baby isn't being caged or ignored waiting to be groomed! I believe my puppy Sam would also give Doggie and Kitty Style 5 paws. When we were ready to leave he ran back to Gretchen to give her good bye kisses! Plus, the shop has a nice selection of healthy treat options for him to enjoy. read more

Willie was wonderful with my golden retriever! After having moved to NJ from Colorado, I was searching for a groomer similar to the one I used in CO and until recently, had not been able to find a really great groomer who was so detail-oriented and worked with me on exactly what cut I wanted for my dog. I can now say I have found one in NJ who did an amazing job with my dog! This review is way overdue. Chris and her team are awesome! The shop is always clean and well stocked whenever we're in (love the bow ties!). So after a friend's recommendation, I started bringing my schnoodle here 4 years ago, 2/25/13 to be exact- time flies! He's a pretty anxious pup and at the time, the local places around us were not the greatest with him. One visit with Willie and we were sold! Willie is very caring and thoughtful of his temperament, takes her time with him, and always gives him a great cut. BEST GROOMER EVER! Did I mention we live 30 minutes away?? I took my dog there right after Christmas. I give my dog baths in the summer so winter is the time I get her washed. I used to go to "Jakes House", but they went out of business. That was a 10 star groomer! My Dog has short fur and weights about 75lb. She does not like baths, but she tolerates them with a little encouraging words. Well I took her to, "Head of the Pack" with all the good reviews on yelp I thought they would be a great groomer. I got her back after her bath and it was just a bath. She didn't smell that great and it didn't even seem as though she was Bathed. The groomer said she used hyper allogenic shampoo so it really has no smell. The groomer explained she had to really brush my dog because she was shedding so badly. Brushing a dog even a lot I think is part of the job description as a groomer. Don't complain to the customer of all people and then think you should get a good tip. I just wanted her bathed and brushed and just wanted her to smell good. So when my dog came down she looked fine. The same as I dropped her off. She is semi white and was not any whiter. My dog is not a bitter, she is a Rescue and she's a very very docile. When I got her into the car I noticed her Eye kind of drooping I did not think anything of it. Then when I got home she started getting all of these bumps just on her right side along with her Eye that was drooping on the right side. I waited a couple days to see if it was just a reaction. Well, it wasn't she had a scratch on her eyeball, she has hives all over her right side. Now I have a vet bill of $137.37. She is on antibiotics and I have to go see an ophthalmologist for dogs to see about her scratch on her eye. She could lose her eye. So think twice about going to this place I think a lot of the good reviews came from the owners friends. By the way one dog walked out with a nice little handkerchief around it's neck my dog got nothing. The groomer was rude and not grateful that I even gave her a tip. The front desk girl was nice that's about it. If you have a large dog that needs a bath don't go there. read more

I have been taking my Havanese to Ahead of the Pack about eight years. He is a skittish little guy and I baby him because of it. Chris and her staff always greet him with a big smile and talk to him to calm him down. His groomer, Gretchen, is top notch. I never worry about leaving him there. I know he is in great hands with Gretchen. She always grooms him to perfection. In fact, I book my appointments months at a time, partially for scheduling purposes but mainly for fear that Gretchen will get booked. Had a wonderful experience with the groomer Gretchen today. I have an X-Large Greater Swiss Mountain Dog who hates being bathed. When I got him back from being groomed he was so clean, shinny, and smelled the best he has ever smelled. He was in good spirits which is normally not the case after being bathed. I will be taking him back and I bet he is even looking forward to it. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly. When I moved to town I selected this place because they did one-to-one grooming so my dog who has siezures could go. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean, however, I wasn't overly impressed for the price. My pup was groomed okay, definetly not the best job I have ever had even with the 5 photos I reviewed with the groomer first a few things we "off." Also, you need to book appointments weeks in advance which is hard for me with my work schedule. Overall they did a good job, I just wasn't as impressed as some of the other yelpers. read more

My Persian cat is regularly groomed and is used to going to a groomer. This was my first and last appointment with Ahead of the Pack. My cat was not bathed because according to the groomer "it would stress him out." The actual lion's cut was ok except his face was not evenly cut. The intolerable problem was he had FOUR cuts on his skin from the clipper (and no he wasn't matted). His nails were not trimmed and when I mentioned the uneven trim on his face and that his nails were not trimmed the groomer copped an attitude and begrudgingly she fixed the issues. I was surprised to get a call within 30 minutes to pick him up when his appointment was an hour. Now I know why. I was charged about 100.00 for his grooming. Unfortunately, I can clip my cat better and without injuring him. The co-owner, Chris, was not there so I wonder if we would have received better service if she was. I have always found Chris to be helpful and enthusiastic. Too bad we really need a good cat groomer in Haddonfield. read more
