Yesterday the crew was here for the recent job of removing concrete landing step ( which started to fall apart during the winter) and replacing it with a granite step. They are very, very good at the masonry aspect,…read morebut we had a negative experience with everything outside of the excellent stone walls and patio they built for us. They have built beautiful flat stone walls for us in our front and back yards. We were very impressed with them after the first job they did for us in our front yard a few years ago, so we did not even look at other companies when we wanted to spruce up our backyard this year. The garden walls they built in the backyard were once again beautiful. However, as a gardener, I was disappointed and frustrated by the following things: - Our contract included 50/50 loam compost for the new garden beds. During the job, we caught them filling the beds with the grass they had pulled up from our old lawn and asked them to stop doing that. - When I went to start planting, I found that the garden beds had only a layer of new soil but that my shovel quickly hit a lot of big rocks and uncovered old soil, debris, and trash. - They completely trampled and destroyed my established perennial garden, which was located in a garden bed above where the new beds were built. They also broke several pavers in a little garden path I had and removed them without replacing them. - They recommended microclover for my lawn and seeded it for us as part of the contract, but it grew in quite spotty despite us maintaining it properly with daily waterings. I contacted them about the first issue and their initial response was to tell me that the stones I was finding were part of the wall construction - this was not the case. They had someone come out to take a look and concluded that the soil did need to be replaced, which they finally did. It is much better now, though I still have found some large stones in it. However, in the process of solving that issue, they caused the second one - many of the perennials that my mother and I had worked to plant over the past four years were totally destroyed. They offered me a credit to compensate for the loss, or the option to have them reinstall new flowers, but by that point I just didn't want them near my garden anymore so accepted the credit. I didn't bother contacting them about the spotty lawn - I threw down some grass seeds yesterday to try and fill in the gaps. While I appreciated that they did eventually take steps to resolve the issues, I found it quite frustrating to have to keep reaching out just to get them to do what they really should have done in the first place. They never did a final walkthrough as I've seen other contractors do. No apology for destroying my garden. They have a Benjamin Franklin quote, "The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten" - I definitely felt some of that bitterness throughout this process. My conclusion is that they are really excellent masons but do not understand or respect gardens. If you hire them, be prepared to have to deal with that.

Please do not hire this company. They start at a reasonable price then find all kinds of things…read morewrong and the price keep going up and up. They pressure you to sign a contract for the work and the work is subpar. It does not meet code or professional workmanship. They sat in my house for couple of hours until i signed despite the fact that i told them i had to check with my attorney and would let them know in the morning. They refused to leave. I should have called the police right then and there. I did contact the police later that week when i saw the results of the job. I also checked with city hall to see if they had pulled a permit as I was told by them that they had the inspector coming next week. This was after they finished the job and wanted payment. Lo and behold city hall said no permit was pulled and no inspection was ordered. Their names are Freddie and Matthew. The work was done by 2 gentlemen who do not speak English. I will be taking legal action on this matter to recoup what i paid since I have to have all the work completely redone and it has comprised the integrity of our 4 season room. I also just recently lost my husband and they preyed on that. Unfortunately, i was scammed. I repeat, do not use them.

Michael and his crew did an amazing job. I had two very old paving patios and a few old retaining…read morewalls. I shared with him what I thought was possible and Michael and team filled in the details. They ended up giving me a whole new backyard. Michael met us at the stone gallery and was patient with us while we discussed options and tweaked the proposal. He worked with us and was onsite every day. They worked very fast. They did all of the following in 3 weeks and 2 days - took down a huge rock wall 4ft x 80ft, removed 6ft ft of earth behind that, added several inches of rock and paving substrate to remove the need for a step on 2 doors, put up a new huge retaining wall, and replaced 3 small ones with steps. They did all this on a hilly property. The grass was damaged in spots and they brought in new soil and flattened it out and seeded it. They are not cheap but provided a good value and likely a better product than other quotes. One example is using some of the extra retaining wall blocks to stabilize the paver patio stays in place on both sides. Every weekend they cleaned the street and made sure to not block traffic everyday. I have more projects for Michael and team and look forward to further improving my property. I'll add more photos when all the grass comes back and I get better patio furniture.

The man who presents himself as Paul Jones is really an Irish National named Leon McDonagh, who is in the US on an expired tourist visa. He performed work on our home last year which started as a quote for $2500 to repoint some bricks in our chimney, and ended up costing us $140,000 in unnecessary foundation work and basement sealing. They left 9 tons of soil on our property, cemented over our sewer cap, and performed work with no permits and that was not up to state code. We have had to hire another company to repair the work they did. The pictures on their website are all stolen from other websites - they do not reflect the work done by "Paul's" team.
