First time at this shop. Decided to go based on pretty good reviews. Nick, the owners son, gave an excellent cut. Would have rated the place 5 stars. However Agron the owner of the shop refused to wear a mask despite my asking him to wear one and despite the fact that all customers are required to wear a mask. He apparently just does not get it. Very disrespectful of his customers.If you want to take a chance on getting covid then go but if not avoid the place. Whoever wrote the review a day after my review regarding the fact that Agron refused to wear a mask is no doubt a friend or relative. It's utterly ridiculous . I too decided to give Agron a shot because of the great reviews here on Yelp. I have to say that I was extremely disappointed in the service I received. I wear a classic, conservative, side-parted style. In the past I have had a barber accidentally use thinning shears near the part, causing short hairs to stick out in the part that were impossible to comb down. For this reason I asked Agron not to use thinning shears near the part. However, he did exactly what I requested that he not do. I have attached pictures below to show what I'm explaining. I came back into the shop the next day to explain my discomfort with the cut. Agron saw what I was talking about but denied that he had done it. He first said it was "impossible" for thinning shears to do that, but later said the shears "maybe" could, but that he never would have. He offered no recompense other than "I'm sorry you feel that way." My father ran a business for many years and always operated under the assumption that "the customer is always right." Agron's attitude bothered me because he 1) did not listen to my initial request and 2) denied any and all responsibility for the outcome. Overall, not a great experience. read more

Before finding Agron, my husband went to a competitor in the area and paid double for a haircut he didn't like. What really impresses me about Agron (the owner and the person who cuts my hair) is how good my haircut looks 3 or 4 or 5 weeks after the haircut. The basic shape is maintained between haircuts. Passing through town, in desperate need of a fresh cut... Without a doubt made the right choice. There was a supercuts about a quarter mike away, but my friend and I opted to spend the extra 5 bucks to see what this guy was bringing to the table. Aside from the great ascetics of the establishment (pool table, clean, old school feel), I was immediately met with an offer for a beverage while I waited for my friend to get his hair crafted. I noticed the news article "3rd generation barber opens shop in Wilton" and new I was in great hands. This man truly took pride in his craft. Hope this place finds the success it deserves. Only suggestion - make the sign a but more visible to the road and a bit more eye catching... If you got it, flaunt it. read more

Had to write a review to confirm the hype. This place is great. Went there first time, everyone is a total gentlemen/professional. They will greet you and offer you a drink if there is a wait. I got my hair cut by a guy other than the owner but he was very serious about his craft and was even upset at him self for making a small mistake I didn't notice. He worked to even out the fade into the side. Apparently there was a cowling that deceived him. But the 360 view looks great I've had a day now to check the cut out and I love it I will be back. read more

Five Stars! Boom! Ten Stars! Twenty! Such a classic, traditional barber shop! I was taken care of by Agron himself; the Man the Myth the Legend! This guy has seen and done it all. He cuts hair like a magician, he speaks like a bard and his style is clean, tight and impeccable. Yup. I felt this was a luxurious visit and my shitty attempt at prose should reflect at just how comforting the whole experience was. Ultra clean, super accommodating, (have I used enough adjectives yet?) and very friendly, I have not had a cut like this since my childhood days of giggling as the wizened old Italian men took a vibrating trimmer to my ears. Agron: sounds like a hero of myth but no, he is a physical being walking amongst us and soothing the souls of the everyday mortals by delicately and swiftly clipping the locks of our tired and harried heads. Yes, I got all weird for a haircut but let me assure you you will be well taken care of. This haven boasts a super comfy couch, a pool table for the groups and a fridge in the back, available for ALL customers wanting some chilly water, soda or even a thirst quenching beer! Get a cut here and unsightly neck hair cleanups are on the house (as well as those tasty beverages previously mentioned!) Stop by and Agron will touch you up free of charge. He also employs the traditional hot foam on your neck area. After the epic cut he rubs a generous dollop of eye fluttering bliss then inserts a straight razor honed by the gods themselves to clean up your dirty dirty neck. He also trims your uneven mustache and inquires if your wildly unkempt eyebrows need a little discipline. One more time: yes this is a barber: yes this man is magical. It is a rare experience to find such a caring Barber that adheres to what I held so dear in my younger days. If I was spoiled as a child from such quality, so be it, it has been a long time coming since I have experienced care for my hair at this level. GO GO GO! Update: 12/30/2015 Just got a beard trim. My experience further solidifies this barbers status as the go to guy! A side note; bring cash because there is no "tip" line if you are using plastic. Also, the prices for 2016 have gone up, minimally. The reason is that Agrons rent has gone up. If you've read my review you know that you are getting top quality for your money. I'm glad to pay a teenie tiny bit extra to get the care and service this establishment offers. Do everyone a favor and tip a little stronger to keep this thriving business alive. Although he started with scissors, when I asked for a little more off the sides, he breaks out the razor and takes way too much off. Agron himself knows how to work with boys for their first cuts but also does a great job on men. This is my son's first barber shop experience and he loved it. If they know that their work could be better they will immediately address it, no questions asked. Agron takes great pride in his business and his work. I just started going to Agron's (only been twice) since moving to Wilton and it is easily the best barber shop in town (and other towns). Agron (shop's owner) does a great job making the cut exactly what you want. I even threw something a little different at him and he talked it through with me, made adjustments, and executed it to perfection. He's a super nice guy and keeps a clean shop. Also, he is always open...literally. You can go any day at any reasonable hour and he will be open, with not too long of a wait. I am hesitant to post such a rave review as I don't want the shop to get super-crowded, but I want him to stick around for a long time! I was looking for an "old school" attention-to-details barber, and I have found him. Agron, the shop's namesake, was meticulous from start to finish. He even suggested a neckline that suited the shape of my head and explained why, which nobody has ever done. The straight-edge shave around the perimeter and eyebrow trim topped it off. His previous experience at high-end gentlemen's barbershops shines through for a very reasonable $22. They even offer free between-cuts service to clean up necklines and sideburns. I was pleasantly surprised and believe I've found my go-to barber in the Westport, CT area. I'll definitely be back. Tip: Some nostalgic pictures/paintings of Agon's native Europe on the bare walls might add some charm, and a nice touch to the place. read more

The first time I went here I was blown away, for less than I had been paying at other barber shops in the area Agron provided a number of additional services including eyebrow trimming, a neck clean up, and an additional, complementary neck clean up between hair cuts. The gentleman that gave one star must have either confused another barber shop with Agron's or has another motive.
