My wife is really good at animal selfies
    Michael Y.

While in New Zealand, if you really want to get close and personal with sheep, the Agrodome is a great place for the family to learn more about how this awesome animal helps the local economy. It kicks off with an hour show that covers the 2 dozen breeds of sheep! I would have guessed about two - white and black. They had a sheep shearing demonstration where they could shear the a sheep in less than 4 minutes. It was followed by a sheep dog exhibit where they run across the backs of all the sheep. Following the show, you could go up and get pictures with both the dogs and the sheep. There was a petting zoo pen where the baby animals are kept. Afterwards, you are taken on a tractor out to the fields where they make 3-4 stops and you can "mingle" amongst the sheep, alpacas, and cows. The ostriches are kept safety away from you behind a fence but you can still try for some selfies. Gift shop had lots of wool clothing, boots, and accessories for purchase along with lots of stuffed animals for the kids. Overall, it was a great outing for a family that has spent their whole life in the cities/suburbs to see and experience animals in farm-like setting.

Excellent show but no garbage cans. Caused our tour delay and ended up setting it on a counter at the farmers market

The meeting place was at I-site Rotorua so it's very easy to find. He does also offer hotel pickup but we were at an air bnb so we just walked there. Stephen was on time and his van was super roomy and clean. We got lucky and there were 6 of us on this tour so it was wasn't cramped in the van at all. He told us all the lakes we drove by and gave us some history on the areas that we visited. We got to see some amazing places with Stephen and he is so personable and friendly, like you're just visiting with a friend and they're showing you all their favorite places. What's even better is that the places weren't that crowded so we were able to get some really cool photos! Some of the other guests were going to be joining Stephen on one of this other tours later in the day and we were bummed we didn't book any of this other ones. He was a great guide and we had an amazing time on his tour! Definitely book a tour with him if you're going to be visiting Rotorua!

Place is unreal, and the scale's next level. Longest line's around 400 metres, and you're absolutely sending it over a ravine that's gotta be pushing 100 metres deep. Reckon I'm about ready to move back here -- ready, set, jet if Canopy starts flogging an annual pass . Quick post-mortem: there's two courses - Canopy and Ultimate. If you're a proper zipline fiend, start with the classic and work your way up. I stuffed it and went straight for Ultimate thinking it was just longer. Looking back, I'd book both back-to-back... just not on the same day if you're stepping down a notch in the views and buzz.

We did not expect the heavy rain early in the morning to last the duration of this experience. Emma and Jake gracefully led the group and it was extremely impressive how effortlessly they worked in the pouring rain. Everyone had a blast and the views while on the lines were unbelievable! The lines were the longest we've been on and even the guides knew that the whole group was light. Not a single person got stuck. Emma and Jake teach cannonballs better than lifeguards and swim instructors! 15/04/2026
