What a deal, what a steal! $100 NZD (cheaper if you buy a groupon!), if you enjoy rafting, you can't beat the price. This is a relatively quick white-water rafting tour (less than an hour in the water), but boasts the highest vertical/waterfall drop in NZ (7 meters), and is a hop-skip-jump from town. A dozen rapids/waterfalls on the list. The 7 meter drop isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be (even tho 2 guys fell outta the boat & we were completely submerged for a bit). I wish they offered packages for back-to-back runs (for a slight discount), as I probably would have signed up for another go, or at least to jump in someone's boat right before the big-drop! There was a bit of a wait before the bus went back to town, so we got a game of volley ball in back at base camp, which was added fun at no extra cost! As there are some intense waterfalls/rapids, not for the feint of heart, but if you've been rafting a couple of times, or are an adrenaline junkie, definitely recommend giving these guys a try! read more

We did this adventure when we were passing through Rotorua on our 2 week honeymoon. It was an amazing experience if you know what to expect. The best I can do is summarize the trip which should be in line with some of the other reviews good and bad - and you can decide whether or not it's for you. It was in our top 5 highlights of our trip - mainly b/c of the waterfall rafting. 1 - You are rafting the largest commercially known waterfall - yes it has it's potential dangers and yes you may flip (we saw another boat do so) but it's also a great adrenaline rush - and you get great pictures! 2 - If your boat flips - there are other boats around to help turn the boat over and get you back on board 3 - This trip is not an extensive paddling excursion. The whole experience seems to fly by and you are not rafting much but the water is going fast and should not be underestimated. I've done the 2 hour rafting a longer river trip - this is not that. 4 - You will get wet. The guides are fun and want to have fun with their groups - part of that is creating experiences that has members "surfing" the rapids and in doing so you get drenched. Also there's a portion where you get out of the boat and hand on to the side and go over some rapids that way. 5 - You can buy a CD of the photos after the experience - ours were on the cd and they were great. If you can handle all of the above then this is for you...and if you book he 8 AM trip you will be back in enough time for lunch, Zorbing and multiple other things you want to do in the area. **Note there's only one changing area/bathroom for the ladies - and sometimes ladies take WAY TOO LONG getting dressed when all someone needs to do is use the restroom for one last time before the trip. read more

The best activity that I have done here, i did the crater walk, I was scared but we had a good guide, Taryn and David.. They were amazing and the view was spectacular. Have to wear a good hiking shoes. Its highly recommended and its worth it.. It was the highlight of my New Zealand adventures. Good job Kaitaki! read more

This was my second time white water rafting and it beat the first time down the Snake river in Idaho, U.S. It's less than an hour trip but exciting the whole way! The trip includes the highest waterfall drop in the Southern Hemisphere at 7 meters! Don't worry if you think you're gonna fall out, just hold on and hold your breath and you'll be fine!
