Mother was at Abbey Manor for 7 months and passed away there with the support of Hospice. Mother…read morewas sweet, happy and affectionate and it did not take long for the staff at Abbey Manor to fall in love with her. Then, the staff seemed to love our whole family! With only 15 residents, Mom had one on one care every day. Even as she needed more and more assistance with personal care, the girls assisted her with the utmost love and respect. At times, the girls sat with mom over night, when she forgot she couldn't walk. When mom appeared uncomfortable, they would sooth her by massaging her arms and legs. Mom was really anxious the last 3 days of her life. She appeared unsettled and could not tell us what was wrong. This was very hard for my brother and I to watch. Mona, the nurse, stayed with us for 3 straight days, offering mother care and and us comfort and support. She treated us like we were her family. I would recommend Abbey Manor to anyone that I love. One more thing, no two more things! Mother loved the food! She actually gained weight while there. Lots of homemade cookies, cakes and pies. Mom loved her sweets! The staff would call me on the phone whenever Mom wanted to talk to me or if mom needed anything in the way of clothing or supplies. They would call if they wanted our opinion on how to deal with any of Mom's behaviors or needs. Now that Mom is gone, we will miss our friends at Abbey Manor.

We definitely made the right choice with Caraway. From the moment we walked in to visit we knew…read morethat this would be the place for mom. Tina and all of the staff are genuinely concerned and provide excellent care for all of the elderly living there. They know every person not only by name but also seem to understand all of the personality traits that make up an individual. They have top notch communication with family members and the ratio of caregivers to clients living there is very small compared to most places. There are 16 individuals in each building ( there are 2 ) and the aides always seem to know exactly what is going on. The kitchen is in the front as you walk in with a chef preparing delicious meals and they seem more than happy to adjust the menu to accommodate. Moms clothes and sheets were always clean and they don't lay around in a hospital gown all day. They are up and dressed to attend meals at the dining table , sit on the huge front porch facing the woods or work puzzles/ do activities. There was never a problem with medications as they arrange pre-packaging with the pharmacy and have a PA visit each week for individual medical needs. No matter what time you pop in it is always odor-free , quiet ,clean and calm. Moms room had a door to the back deck facing the woods with a large window as well so her room was well lit. ( they have private rooms and semi private ). I would definitely recommend the private rooms simply because they can have more of their own furniture, pictures and belongings to make it more like home. If there isn't one available you can get on the waiting list and for us it worked out fine. The overall take home message is of all the places we looked at ( 10 total in 3 counties ) Caraway has an overall feel of the comforts of home with the security of knowing excellent care is provided at all times. If I could give 10 stars I would.

They take good care of them, and I'm very happy with this place. They have a great staff. They listen to your concerns and they leave you alone when you come to visit. But if you want them to answer questions, they answer questions. They're very responsive. They have single rooms and shared rooms. They do not have many activities, but it's adequate for the residents that they have. The place is a little older, but it's very clean and well-maintained. It always smells good there.

The website sent me a prepaid label for free return shipping with UPS. The box was too large to stick in the UPS drop boxes so I got on the website and found this awful place as an authorized drop spot. The man working (the owner?) was so rude and nasty. He lectured me about stealing money from him by using a prepaid label. Said I was driving him out of business. So I was supposed to throw out my free shipping and pay him to ship it for me?! I don't get it. If UPS isn't reimbursing you to be a drop off maybe reconsider the choice to offer that service. And no offense but if there wasn't free shipping I would have gone to the post office, not some over priced shady shipping business in a terrible strip mall where the homeless congregate. No idea why I needed a lecture about his failing business for using a prepaid label sent from the recipient. He gave me this flyer and threw my box in the back. (See attached photo). Tip to the owner: maybe consider changing your services to align with a changing online marketplace. And when you do get a customer don't be so nasty. I couldn't wait to get out of there and I certainly won't take any of my other shipping business there. As I was waiting I took notice of some of your shipping supply costs and printing for large photos and was considering a large project for later this year for my business but ill never be back.
