And now that I live only a few miles away, it's a regular stop when I'm in a thrifting mood. As with most things these days, the prices here have gone up a bit the past few years. But they are still very reasonable, and they have daily 50% off and 99-cent tag sales, plus other specials throughout the week. They also have a loyalty program where you can earn points and discounts based on how much you purchase. This still ranks as one of the cleanest and most well organized thrift shops I've ever been to, even moreso since their recent massive re-arranging project which I really appreciate. My favorite section is their sewing and craft area. If you're a fabric hoarder like I am, there's always something fun to be found there. Their clothing can be hit and miss, but if you visit regularly you're sure to find something new and fun to wear. And don't miss their vintage/antique section which has some really fun finds.

This colossal antique shop grabbed my attention almost immediately upon walking in, due to the…read moresheer variety and volume of quirky and interesting knick-knacks and kitsch on display just inside the door. Further exploration kept my attention engaged, as we moved through the various showrooms, seeking ever more interesting treasures and relics from days gone by. Nasty's Jack's collection is anything but, and the selection here is far less...stuffy, I guess, than other antique stores. This is an antique store for all ages, not just grandma and her collection of porcelain teddy bears, or whatever. Here you'll find everything from legacy furniture, décor, signage, tools, kitchenware, tableware and clothing, to toys, comics, figurines, sporting equipment, jewelry, records, DVDs, VHS, books, and probably a whole lot more that I am forgetting. You could spend hours here raiding each and every bin, hoping to dig up that special treasure that grabs your attention and pillages your wallet. Nasty Jack would be proud if you did!

They have everything from vintage knick knacks to toys to books to small furniture. And clothes, TONS of clothes, all organized by size, style, season...you name it. They also have a large selection of household items, like dishes, bedding, towels, and small appliances. One thing I really appreciate is that they have dressing rooms so you can try things on! Some larger thrift stores have done completely away with this option, and while I understand why, I appreciate the ones who still have them. The line can get a little long at the counter, so keep that in mind if you're there on a busy day. But if you want a great thrifting experience, and to support a lovely small town business, definitely give Island Thrift a try!

Came to this thrift store for the first time today and while I was looking through one of the racks…read moreone of the workers, an Asian woman with big eyeglasses came out of nowhere, practically running up on me and told me she was working on that rack. She looked very visibly angry when saying this. I apologized and told her that I genuinely thought this was one of the racks on display in the store and backed off it. I hadn't been here before so I didn't know the layout of the store. She didn't say anything to me after that and hurried off away? I tried to go through the rest of the store but, after that the vibe was just off and I had to leave. Not sure if I will come back. At least not for awhile. Overall the store is very organized and clean. The clothing selection isn't the most stylish but, they can't help want gets donated to them. Would have liked it more if my visit had been better.

A jar of nails to cds and dvds, a wall to throw glass at for $1 There's a kitten petting zoo and bunnies up front as well. There's bigger items in the back. If you're looking for an alternative stress relief solution, belly up to the break a plate smash counter. Pay for dishes from plates to vases, mugs and more to fly at the wall. Treasures are organized by category for the most part. Divine masterpiece antique hutches and furniture can be found here too at times. They do a good job of sorting through and displaying truly vintage items at fair prices. Family run, you can find everyone there hard at work and happy to help and answer questions. Good people! They also take in animals from locals in town and host sell. You can usually find bunnies for sale, and even pups from locals (not the business). You can hold them and pet them too! We walked in to see cool things after brunch, and left with a Netherland Dwarf bunny from a family who had just dropped off a litter. We were able to get good starter care information before they left (again, not the business themselves but a resident in town). Always love popping in to take a gander when in town, beware of the cute bunnies they may cast their spell and you'll go home with one!
