Katya is such an amazing teacher! Both my son (8 years old) and I learnt so much from her. She is patient and very professional. I highly recommend her for classes and birthday parties, both for kids and adults.

Katia had the guests make this special painting as a keepsake for the birthday girl!

We hired Katia for our daughter's 6th birthday "Paint Party". Katia was extremely patient and helpful when it came to helping the kids out with their paintings. What we also loved was that we were able to pick the theme for the painting and she sent over numerous options to choose from. Katia took her time with the paint session along with the fact painting for the children. Several people that were at the party and some that saw pictures from our party have already asked for her contact information. We will definitely use her services in the future and highly recommend her if you want someone who will do an amazing job with children and who is also an amazing artist!

For my birthday party, I decided to do a paint and wine night with my friends. And I'm so happy, I've asked Katya to organize it. It was pleasant, and everyone left the party with own paintings

Katia is one of the best. We had fun event at her place. Paint and wine evening and it was just fun and professional together.

I attended a "paint and wine" evening team building event with my coworkers at Katya's studio. We usually go to a restaurant, so this year was a new and refreshing experience. The atmosphere was very friendly and relaxing, and as a nice bonus everyone got an amazing art piece at the end - even those who were very skeptical about their talent. I definitely recommend Katya for team building events or workshops and will come back as a private student.

I've always wanted to paint something nice and feel proud enough to hang it in my house for everyone to see and admire... thank you Katya for a super fun evening, it was a blast, I can't wait for the next one!

If we have, it was definitely years ago LOL. It was cool that they had a small bar and drinks were a reasonable price! Our initial impression was that we were kind of anxious, considering our lack of experience, short time frame, and complexity of the painting. However, Heather (our instructor) began the session by explaining that if it's easier for us to just paint whatever we want or not paint at all, that would be fine. We weren't going to do that but having the reassurance made us feel so much more relieved! It was very easy to follow along the steps and it was actually really fun for our group! Towards the end, we did feel rushed because we were past the session and have not gotten to the last steps, but Heather was able to quickly run us through them and then when she finished, we were still free to sit for a bit to finish up the painting. The experience was very enjoyable for my first time here and even though my painting wasn't the best, I would definitely come back!

So, I've never painted before and felt intimidated by the Elephant we had to paint. I felt intimidated by all the other students that came to paint. I also felt intimidated by my BFF who paints all the time! But Joe showed us how to dab dab dab and brush brush brush and VIOLA', a masterpiece is created! I didn't think I would be able to make such a lovely painting by the end of our session. I survived! My painting was fun to create. I even enjoyed looking at all the other students masterpieces. We were all painting the same thing but there was not one that was alike. I thought everyone did a great job painting too. The event was held at an Italian restaurant that serves drinks and food. My only bit of advise is, I wish Yaymaker sold drink coupons on their site or as addedium fee on Groupon. I would had loved to save some money on wine too. Overall, very fun. I look forward to my next Yaymaker event with my BFF.

I had been wanting to go to a paint-and-sip event for a long time; it was one of the activities I…read morepictured adults frequently doing when I was a teenager. I finally got to try this out last summer, and first I'll just say, it was a little pricier than I expected it to be. There's usually a Groupon for this event, and even with that you're paying around $30/person, so I suggest checking that out before buying your ticket. It doesn't come with any drinks, so you'll have to pay additional prices for those. Paint Nite works by you selecting the night you want to attend the event on their website. They have multiple Bay Area cities, with an almost endless list of locations in each where the events will take place. They have multiple events per week, and each night is a different location and example painting. If you bought a Groupon, you'll enter it during the payment stage. All pretty self-explanatory. Along with being more expensive than I imagined, it's also much less glamorous. When I was younger, I thought these nights would be held at a studio or someone's home, with the wine being supplied (and not being super cheap). I really wasn't a fan of the Grill 'Em Restaurant we went to, because it's the quality of Chili's or Applebee's. I knew there wouldn't be decent wine at a decent price, so I ordered two cocktails instead. Unfortunately those were so sweet, they made me feel ill afterward. The food wasn't too good either...but that's a review for their business, not this one. I brought an old friend with me when I went, and he decided to do his own thing and painted something from Twin Peaks. The instructor was funny and knew how to explain painting to first-time painters who were pretty tipsy. Our class was mostly a large group of women who were celebrating one of their birthdays, and they were mostly all drunk and very loud. I probably wouldn't pay this much to paint again, but I certainly wouldn't choose the location we had again. It's fun to do once, though.

Her guidance was exceptional; she encouraged everyone to embrace their artistic side and simply go with the flow. It was fascinating to see how each person interpreted their significant other through their painting, with the reveal being the highlight of the night. This is definitely a class worth experiencing. Thank you, FlowHaus, for creating such a memorable evening and awakening the artist within us! As someone who is far from an artist--I can barely manage stick figures--and who doesn't practice meditation, I found the sessions incredibly relaxing. Watching myself create 'art' by choosing and applying colors, seeing them flow across the canvas under my control, was immensely satisfying. The absence of any need to conform to mainstream definitions of art was a revelation I never knew I needed. I enjoyed the freedom to create without pressure. Overall, Crystal, was a joy to work with. She provided all the necessary materials, explained the concept clearly, and then allowed everyone to explore it at their own pace. There was no rushing, no judgment--just the opportunity to be myself. Thank you for letting us be a part of this wonderful experience. I will definitely be signing up for another workshop.

There are just so many cool and different activities to choose from! I tried both the fluid art experience on canvas and the "bear brick" figurines in the sip and drip session, as well as the mental wellness exercise on canvas. Both were quite different but super relaxing, calming, and just plain fun. I'm not naturally super artistic, but Crystal makes it all fun and light with no pressure. The pieces I created came alive right before my eyes. The fluid nature of the art really let me "let it flow," and Crystal's prompts and guidance on creating something display-worthy were perfect--not too overbearing or stressful. The great thing was I was able to meet other like-minded individuals and groups in my session and was able to see their beautiful and creative creations as well! I definitely want to do this again and bring a friend or five :) It's a fun idea for a date night or a friends' sip and drip party! I might even bring my work group here for a team-building event!! Thanks again, Crystal and FlowHaus!

Half the time was spent waiting while Mark went downstairs to unlock the door for some late guests or refilling drinks and the other half of the time was spent painting on vague instructions. The most interesting part of this experience was watching paint dry, because honestly, I've had a better time doing our own paint night at home with a couple canvases, some nice acrylic paint and brushes, and some Bob Ross videos on YouTube. Pros: Convenience if not having to buy supplies. Cons: Lacking paint supply quality. Lacking instruction. Hidden location on the 3rd floor of Computer Central. My partner and I had been trying to figure out what…read morekind of fun activity we could do together that wasn't too expensive but also enjoyable for the both of us. Recently, we got into painting together at home by following Bob Ross' (the OG painting home) painting tutorials on YouTube. My partner came up with the idea of a paint and wine kind of night with a painting instructor, which we both excitedly agreed to! Upon perusing Google and all possible studios found online near us, VinoArtist came up! We saw the ample examples and sessions they had and were super stoked to book a session. For $25/person, we would get a canvas, access to paint colors and brushes, and a pro instructor to teach us how to paint our desired picture for 3 hours! Wow, what a steal! Or so we thought. PS: if you want wine, you'll have to pay $5/cup or get their VIP pass to get wine for free (or discounted price. I don't drink, so not sure lol). Water bottles and snacks were sold $1 a piece too! No free gourmet popcorn for anyone with the wine pass. Upon arriving to the studio, we were greeted by our instructor for the night, Mark. He checked us off his tablet and instructed us to find an empty seat before the painting session started. We arrived roughly around 6:45pm, 15 minutes before 7:00pm (the start of the paint session). Unfortunately, we didn't really start until 7:20pm because people were either late or lost finding the building. I felt really bad that Mark had to keep running up and down the building to open the door for folks to come in since the lobby doors are locked. Perhaps the folks at VinoArtist should invest in a helper so that the teacher shouldn't have to run back and forth to let late students in? I felt bad for Mark and the number of times he had to run in and out of the room to let others in. Anyways, aside from starting late, the session felt a bit awkward at times. As much as Mark was trying to entertain everyone with his jokes, there were some awkward moments of silence or sad jokes being thrown in. To be honest, I can't even remember what was said or taught, as I was trying so hard on my own to paint and complete my painting with the little tips and tricks Mark presented. He did warn us he was quick though lol. The main thing that really disappointed me the most about this painting night session was how the painting that was advertised to us upon signing up was NOTHING like the reference photo depicted in class. When another student inquired why the reference photo was so different, Mark explained that students got frustrated with keeping up with the advanced/featured painting that we all signed up for. Hmmm...okay. Then why don't you just update the picture then? We all felt deceived that we weren't paying for what we expected to learn???? Take a look at my pictures to see what I'm talking about. I wish I took a photo of the painting he drew at the end of class because it also looked nothing like the reference photo he put up before he began painting. Aside from the tardiness, the deception, and the dry jokes that filled the evening, my partner and I thought the event was okay. We were too busy trying to complete the painting that we just kept to ourselves throughout the event and left once the event ended. PS: the event did not take 3 hours. Approximately a good 1 hour and 30 minutes, as we finished around 9:15pm. If you want to do a paint and wine night and don't have supplies at home, I think it's fine to paint here, but don't expect to walk away with the painting you signed up to learn...I think my partner and I will stick to at home painting with Bob Ross.
