We woke up to our bedroom and bathroom flooded, which had leaked all night out the side wall. After calling Forrest Rivers 24 hour service, which was useless... they stated if we wanted to keep going on our trip, we had to find a mobile RV repair company, but they would not send anybody out due to COVID. It was either turn around and cancel or press on and take our chances. As we pressed on, we knew our next stop would be Amarillo. I got on Yelp and ran upon Matt. The best decision we could've made on this trip. I called him on the road, texted him pics and he kept in touch with us, until we got into town. Once he met up with us, we followed him to his home out in the country.... gave us a very reasonable price, pointed us in the direction of lunch and told us it would be all done after lunch. Sure enough, Matt did not disappoint!!! He even went above and beyond, fixing little things we didn't even notice, and shared his knowledge of what would help us out on our road trip. You just don't find the friendly customer service and knowledge like Matt anymore!!

A couple of months ago I took my HVAC controls to them for replacement and was told by the service manager, my controls were no longer made and it would be best if I would replace all parts, including the control box located at the AC. I checked around with several RV repair places and was told the same. I decided to take my RV to Family Camping Center for the repairs since they got it right from the start. When I dropped off the RV, there was different person at the counter and I told them what I needed and that my controls were no longer available. I left knowing it was in the right hands. Little did I know the new service manager lacked knowledge and had not communicated previous information to the technician or the fact my controls were obsolete even after telling them so. When I returned to pick up my RV there was a $500.00 labor bill to replace the parts (a control box at the AC and a thermostat) Previously this business and others told me these would be needed. To say the least, I wasn't very happy. The owner tried to defend their charges by saying the labor was diagnostics and trying to use my old parts. All could have been avoided if service manager had known what they were doing or even listened when I told them my controls were to be replaced. The only positive was owner did knock off $100.00 (1hour) but still charged me 400.00 for a 2 - 3 hour job. I hope for their sake they change their attitude and the service manager learns fast. I've sent many friends to this business in the past but I hesitate to do this in the future.

I talked with J.R. And explained the situation. He quickly arranged a tow for our 40 bus. Upon arrival at the shop J.R. Introduced us to Bobby who was going to be our mechanic. VERY nice guy! Bobby quickly diagnosed our problems and got replacement parts ordered. Two nights in a hotel and we were back out on the road. Everyone at Derrells was fantastic! I have no problem recommending Derrell's Garage to anyone needing work done on their vehicles! I requested service and to inspect the bus to make sure everything checked out since I was heading to Phoenix, AZ. After stopping by and speaking with Laren the service advisor assigned to assist he reassured me he will take care of my problem. After wasting a day there I decided to catch a flight back to Phoenix and let them do what they need to do and do it correctly before I would hit the road again as I did not want to have any more breakdowns. After two weeks and over 7k spent I finally get word from Laren that my bus is ready to go. I book a flight back go start the bus only to find out there's now two check engine lights on. I went to service and right away they sent a tech plugged the bus OBD to see what reading they were getting to only tell me hey no big deal since we worked on your DOC, PDF filter and such we had to drain your radar so they forgot to put coolant in it. I'm like wtf how do you forget to put coolant in a radiator? But brushed it off since it was a minor mistake and got on the road. I drove about 100 miles and check engine light comes back again along with overhearing message. At that point I contacted the dealership again and said wtf did you guys do since you had my bus for over 2 weeks to only break down again? The manager Dave Gentry reached out and said take it to the nearest Cummins dealer and if it's something they screwed up they would take care of it. I'm annoyed but I said ok, I make it to Albuquerque, NM park the bus at Cummins get a hotel and the next morning I go in and spoke with service to try to figure out what the heck is going on. After waiting all day they finally tell me the work performed on the bus was done incorrectly; they used the wrong parts and also overfilled my radiator with coolant they had to drain 5 and half gallons of extra coolant from the radiator and now had to over night a part since it was not available locally. I said ok; got another hotel room took another Uber to and from the hotel but I said as long as it gets taken care of I'm good. Now; the bus has been at two different Cummins dealers. Dave took care of the bill and again I asked the Albuquerque location to look over everything to make sure it was all good because I did not want to break down again! They did and after getting the clear I was able to get back on the road. Now between NM and AZ my bus was overheating I called Dave again and said look I don't know what the hell is going on but something is not right with my bus and it's still overheating and having issues. He then tells me stop at the next dealer and have them check it out and we will go from there. It's now 3 dealers over 4 weeks in the shop to only get the BS from Dave that now they don't want to pay for damages caused by their service techs. The Phoenix location is telling me I have a coolant leak, bad radiator and few other things totally to $10,000! I told them to reach out to Dave and now that he see the damages caused by his service techs he wants to accept zero responsibility. Your shop drained the coolant they messed with my bus and user incorrect parts and caused me a great amount of stress and lost of revenue. I asked both shops to take a look at everything and let me know if they're anything else wrong so I could address it and now all of a sudden you try to say that it was something that was preexisting? But drove from Missouri to Amarillo, Tx and my bus didn't over heat and now it magically broke down after driving about 100 miles after it was in your shop for 2 weeks? I don't think so. You are a scumb@&, your team is dishonest, you rip people off and don't even do the job correctly after you were paid premium rates. Everyone that reads this stay the f%# away from Cummins Amarillo they are crooks and don't know what the hell they are doing. By law you have to discuss with the owner of the vehicle (ME) before you order any parts. They charged 9 hours of labor and had the unmitigated audacity to say, they could've charged for more labor. Also, their UNDER EXPERIENCED mechanic did a force regen and the actual def was leaking due to HIS NEGLIGENCE of not tightening up a bolt. Save yourself the irritation and go to the dealership. These people are liars, theives, and con artists. They will rob you with no gun. Response: You all are trying to cover your butts. My truck was NOT in derate. I drove it in.
