After getting her car towed to Amarillo and attempting to get it repaired on Sunday to no avail, I turned to Yelp for help. I found a shop with great reviews for helping stranded travelers, especially on weekends. I fired off a message and accidentally turned it into a project which added Bryan's Auto and Body to my message. And it's a good thing because Bryan was the only response I ever got. He said they could definitely get it looked at, but it would be Monday. It didn't take long to see this was as good as it was gonna get. But it got better when, not only were they able to get it looked at on Monday, but were able to get the alternator and flywheel replaced on Monday. Melissa and Bryan were tremendously helpful. I drove up to Amarillo to get my daughter back to Albuquerque and was working with them through Yelp messages, emails and phone calls. I have a great mechanic in DFW that took me years to luck into, but managed to find the same level of service through Yelp in a faraway city through apps and phone calls when I didn't have a clue where to go. Thanks Bryan! Thanks Melissa! Thanks to the whole team at Bryan's Auto and Body for coming through with minor miracles in the midst of our little crisis far from home. You are greatly appreciated!

WARNING: Do Not Trust Kwick Start!…read more I took my car to Kwick Start on December 26th due to engine trouble, and it has been nothing but a nightmare since. If you value honesty, transparency, and competent service--STAY AWAY from this shop! Broken Promises & Endless Delays After diagnosing my car, Eddie told me my engine needed to be replaced. He quoted me $3,200 for an engine with only 20K miles, and I gave him the green light to proceed. That's where the lies began. First, he never ordered the engine because he claimed he was "waiting for my approval" (which I had already given). Then, week after week, the engine was supposedly in a different city--Wichita Falls, Dallas, Little Rock--always with a new excuse. Every time I called for an update, I got vague responses, false promises, and more delays. Bait-and-Switch Engine Swap Finally, after a month of waiting, I picked up my car on January 27th, only to find out: I was charged for an engine with 20K miles But they couldn't prove that's what they installed Eddie kept changing his story--first the engine had 67K miles, then 65K, then "60-something" He had zero documentation of the installed engine's mileage or serial number I even called the salvage yard that allegedly supplied the engine, but they wouldn't tell me anything because Eddie was the one who bought it. Suspicious Engine Issues & Scamming Customers From the moment I drove off, the car felt worse than before: Grinding noises Struggles with acceleration Overheating smells Burning oil White smoke--the same issue that caused my original engine to fail When I took it back, Eddie barely looked at it, claimed it was "perfect," and dismissed all my concerns. When I pushed for answers, he hung up on me! Ladies, Beware! If you're a woman, prepare to be talked down to, dismissed, and treated like you don't know anything about cars. Eddie refused to give me straight answers, avoided my questions, and treated me like I was stupid for wanting proof of the work done. The Final Cost of Kwick Start's Lies * $3,200 for an engine that I can't verify * $120 in extra fees just to make my payment * A car that still doesn't run right and is now at the dealership for further repairs FINAL WARNING: AVOID THIS SHOP! I wouldn't trust these guys to change my windshield wipers, let alone replace an engine. If you must use them, demand documentation and watch the entire repair process yourself--otherwise, you might get scammed just like I did.

The Price of doing business with Blaze's!…read more I recently had a highly disappointing experience with Blaze's Automotive, and I feel compelled to share my negative encounter with others. In February, I entrusted them with repairing a problem that had been caused by Take 5 oil change. Unfortunately, my interaction with Blaze's Automotive quickly turned into a frustrating ordeal. Upon inspection of my truck, Blaze's Automotive informed me that additional repairs were needed, including the replacement of both valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, coil packs, and fixing a broken off dip stick. The estimated cost for these repairs amounted to a staggering $2,232.18, as indicated in the attached invoice. It's worth mentioning that Take 5 was also responsible for a portion of the repairs. However, my dissatisfaction truly escalated after I relocated to Colorado Springs, a mere 15 days later. Suddenly, my truck started leaking oil, causing significant concern and inconvenience. Naturally, I contacted Blaze's Automotive to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. I spoke with Caroline, a representative of the company, who instructed me to schedule an appointment and bring the truck back to their facility. However, I explained to Caroline that I had already moved and returning to Amarillo was not feasible for me. Despite my predicament, she callously dismissed my concerns, informing me that there was nothing they could do to assist me. Understandably, I requested to speak directly with Blaze, the owner, as I believed that he would take responsibility for the situation and provide a more satisfactory solution. To my astonishment, Caroline, rather than empathizing with my situation, stubbornly insisted that Blaze would only offer me the same unsatisfactory response. This response demonstrated a complete lack of concern for my predicament and a clear unwillingness to rectify the situation. I thought in the process of repairing the valve cover gasket, the mechanic twisted or somehow pinched the drivers side, this was the side with the leak. However, when a friend and myself pulled the cover off, I was horrified to learn that they had cracked the valve cover and made attempts to repair it unbeknownst to me. They never mentioned this mistake, only attempted to cover it up. The overall experience I had with Blaze's Automotive was highly disappointing and frustrating. Not only did they fail to fix the issue properly the first time, but their subsequent lack of accountability, poor customer service and lack of business ethics left me stranded with a leaking truck, unable to get this corrected until I was able to do it myself. If you're looking for a reputable mechanic shop, I strongly advise potential customers to reconsider entrusting their vehicles to Blaze's Automotive. Their inability to take responsibility for their mistakes and their dismissive attitude towards customer concerns make it clear that they prioritize their own convenience over the well-being and satisfaction of their customers.
