The claim was opened and my claim information was emailed to the shop. I then called the shop within minutes. Not sure if the person who answered was the owner. I requested repair service, and he requested I send him pictures of the chip via text message. I took 2 pictures, one from inside and another from outside; the one from outside next to a dime in order to provide context. I sent the pictures, then called the shop. The same guy answered and started to give me the runaround saying, "yeah, it can be repaired, but it's best to go through Safelight," outright refusing service. I said, "I don't want to use Safelight, I see you have good reviews, so I want to use your services." He then said, "well the thing is the machine that I have to do repairs doesn't work right, I don't want to mess up your windshield." I told him, "don't worry about that, if I don't like it, my insurance will pay for the repair." Long story short, this guy refused to repair my windshield, and immediately jumped into upsell mode, saying: "I can replace your windshield." I had explained to him twice that my insurance wants me to repair the windshield, and if it isn't to my liking, they will pay to replace it; either way, he's getting paid. I had a similar experience from another glass shop. I believe the reason is my car make and model. It's a BMW. Seems to be a thing in the auto glass repair/replacement industry: when they find out the car is a luxury class vehicle, they enter upsell mode, and won't do the repair, because the profit margins are much higher for replacement than it is for repair. I told the guy, "just to let you know, this is going to cost you on Yelp." He started to mumble something, but by this time I had had enough, so I cut him off saying: "goodbye" and hung up. And here's the Yelp review I promised him. Very bad. Would not recommend.

I didn't hear from anyone there by 6/25/24 I called them and was told they were going to get to me but in the meantime go back in the system and change from repair to replace, mind you no one had seen my windshield but this lady from that company told me to have my insurance change to replaced. Well right there I feel something wasn't right but I figured she knew her job better than I. I called had it changed to replaced and dropped my car off 6/28/24 at 8:00am and returned at 1:00 pm to a new windshield. Once I paid my deductable and went to start my car it stated on the dash "Pre-Collision System Malfunction Visit your Dealer" I went back in establishment and stated to her what my car was saying. At that point the young lady stated "Oh we don't do Calibrations and I would have to take to dealer and my insurance would pay for it". When I asked her why she had not stated that to me so I could have scheduled an appt. with my dealer, or chosen a shop that did fix windshield and do calibrations she again stated oh the sign is right there didn't you read it?" Mind you the sign is an 8 x 11 piece of white paper on a door to the side of where the employee seats, something no one would look for along with two other pieces of paper, not laminated, not larger for older eyes, not visible. Pictures attached!!!! When I took my car to Toyota they stated that how unprofessional is that and they would not be able to get to my car until Monday. (7/1/24) My deductible was only 50.00 but the price of the windshield was 750.00 and then I have to pay Toyota 412.00 to recalibrate, and I'm left without a car due to unprofessionalism, rudeness and plain ignorance. I was referred to them by Pohanka Honda, where we bought our new HRV, after the rear windshield was shattered last week. Not only could they see me a day before Safelite could, they also quoted me much less than even Safelite's in-shop price to replace the windshield! When I got there, they immediately took my car back to start working. They asked if I would be waiting, I said yes, and they warned me it could be "a couple of hours," which was what I expected. I settled down, signed into the guest WiFi (for which they are happy to give the password), and got ready to do a few work calls in the waiting room. However, only about 45 minutes after taking my car back, the (very kind, helpful) receptionist informed me that they were almost done with the car! Almost as soon as she said that, they drove the car back around to the front and asked me to come out: they showed me the tape that should stay on the rear windshield for 24 hours, but also showed me that they cleaned all the broken glass out of the rear hatch (we had avoided touching it in case of cuts/injury). Not only did they clean the whole area out, they organized it neatly down to refolding and stacking the towels.

The first front windshield they installed was low quality with obvious distortion, nauseating while…read moredriving. I don't blame the installers from not noticing, but it was glaringly obvious from inside the car. I'll give them one star for coming back to look at it and replacing it within a week or two. The second windshield was fine, but the rubber strip at the top was partially ripped off while going through the car wash two weeks after installation causing a leak on that side. However, I was told by a different company that the leak was from not enough urethane used during installation, essentially improper installation. The strip coming off a little shouldn't have mattered. I paid for the installation on site, but they said that I had to go to their location for warranty work. This is for a minivan and I have 4 kids to drop off and pick up daily, so logistically this wasn't ideal. Reza, the manager, offered to have them come back and fix it, but after weeks and weeks of calls and broken promises, no one has come back and I have given up on them. Now, I have to call another company to come and reinstall it. I usually 4 star a company even when things go wrong as long as they make it right, but this company has wasted so much of my time.
