We really tried to be patient with this company. Prices were great so a little headache, we thought, could be worth the discount. BUT ...even giving them the benefit of backlogs with covid and everything else...they turned out to be completely lacking in customer service and ethics. 1. We placed our order for quickship booths and 2 custom corners. Color - wine. Then they separated the order into two orders since they come from different warehouses. So double the shipping. Okay fine. 2. Quick ship booths came. They looked good, a little darker than expected for our decor, but we adjusted. They were a month later than initially quoted. 3. Corner booths continued to be delated they arrived nearly two months after original quoted time. And they were bright red. 3. They blamed me for the color - saying I should have gotten a swatch to match the pattern - Match the pattern to what? They made the original booths it was one order - one would think one order of booths would all come in the same color. 4. They "did me a favor" they made this very clear they were not liable for the completely wrong booth color but they would make this one time exception and replace them no charge. We shipped them back. After another month we got them back and they were torn (they recovered the ones they had sent because it was bright red underneath) 5. I complained of the tear - they said they filed a claim. 6. I called to check on the claim (one would think they could send a repair kit that matched the color...I had ordered repair kits with my original order but never got any) - and one would think they could maybe give me a little discount. Nada. They were annoyed I called. 7. They charged me $220. 8. I called to find out what the charge was...it was for shipping me back the booths they screwed up in the first place and that were also torn. 9. I raised my voice - I did not swear at the syrupy hostile man on the other end of the phone as I wanted to.... he continued to tell me the charge was well within their rights based on the "contract" I signed on the first order. I said the contract was for booths that were the right color and not torn. They were having some issues even fulfilling that part of the deal. Why should I be charged THREE times for shipping product that was still damaged. He hung up on me. Twice. Gotta love Eric - reviews here show "Derek" ...probably the same person. 10. They agreed to take the corner booths back - instead of simply refunding the $220, shipping a repair kit, and providing a courtesy hassle discount. BUT refused to take back the other booths that match - which is in essence the compete order I placed back at the start of the year....AND which was one order from the start. First of all I ordered 6000 dollars worth of chairs and bar stools for my new restaurant back in February and I originally told they have the chairs I want in stock. Dozens of emails, calls, and 6 months later, we have received less than half of the refund we were promised 5 months ago. First of all, the chairs were no good. As a person who chose to purchase thousands of dollars worth of chairs, that upset me. Could I have purchased the chairs somewhere local where I had access to a physical test chair? Of course, but the cost of the chairs was very reasonable and I loved how they looked. Plus, they had assigned an account manager to me who promised they would work with me throughout the whole process. But once the chairs arrived, they were clearly dysfunctional. They rocked dramatically when anyone sat on them. They weren't sturdy, and more importantly, they weren't safe. So, I started the return process for the chairs, and my account manager was nowhere to be found. I ended up talking to a customer service person who said that I would need to email evidence to sales@affordableseating.net. I emailed them the video proof that their chairs were unsafe, along with pictures of the gaps between the wooden pieces that caused this issue. I should note we purchased a sizable number of chairs, so modifying them to function would not work. That was August 15th. On August 22nd, the vendor said it was a 'Defective Batch,' that they don't have replacements available, and that they would be issuing a full refund. August 23rd, we packed the product up, put it on pallets, attached the issued bill of lading, and waited. They picked up a week later. Then this process became complicated. The entire month of September was spent discussing a $400 deduction they had made, which we found out we would have to contest separately from the primary refund. We are still in the process of making that claim. The primary refund, however, was still nowhere to be seen. October 31, we were told that they would mail the check to our billing address 'soon.' I called bi-weekly for updates and was usually unable to reach the customer service person who was assigned to my refund. November 19th, they finally told us what the total would be for the refund, and that they had mailed it. November 30th until Dec 14, 2018, I reached out to request that the check be canceled and reissued, since we had not received the check. January 11th, We still had not received the check, and customer service wouldn't take my calls. January 22nd, We received a check! For exactly $2,000 less than the amount we were informed we would receive on 11/19/18. Received product had plywood seats (which they **specifically** claim they do not use on their website) and no footrest protectors. The booths took forever to arrive and the cost was extremely high for the products that we ordered. Once we received the booths and after just a year of use we discovered the quality of how they were built was horrible!! They could not even handle daily use which is very important when you are selling something as commercial use!! It actually became a hazard for our customers to sit in so we had to block off that area of our shop which took away from a good chunk of our seating. After less than a month of use, the furniture has rusted to the point it is staining the concrete. When we contacted the company they told us their furniture cannot be used uncovered and cannot get wet. Who sells patio furniture that cannot get wet!!! I have been told multiple times the order had been shipped, I was then told the order had been lost. I've ordered multiple times from this company and have never had a problem, up until our most previous order from them. They sent us the wrong tables and refused to do anything about it. After speaking out to multiple people there about it they basically told me "oh well, it was my fault I received the wrong tables." When I ordered with a specialist to make sure we received the exact tables we ordered before he entered the information incorrect and never added the previous invoice number on the new invoice. Heed the reviews and "don't judge the book by its cover". I got fooled by their admittedly better than average web site (the cover). Unfortunately, I did not see the reviews until I had already placed my order and started on my journey to get the order shipped as promised. This is not about one disgruntled customer. There is a reason why nearly all the reviews for this company are one star. Even the most well intentioned business can not satisfy all customers at all times. Read the reviews for Affordable Seating and you will see that there is a common thread to all the complaints - they are not isolated instances. Our complaint is like most others, we ordered tables that were "in stock" and scheduled to ship in two weeks. We followed up after four weeks because our deadline was approaching and was assured they were ready to ship. Another three weeks later and we still did not have the tables. It was time to cancel the order and find an alternate source. That's when the fun started. They had not shipped by the date promised and when I cancelled the order, they said it couldn't be cancelled because it already shipped (even though I never received a shipping notification). Fair enough - what is the tracking number, pro number? They claimed the order was picked up by a freight company. I called the freight company three days later and they had no record of the shipment. I then called customer service at Affordable seating and was told the order would be shipped within 48 hours (their standard BS line). Clearly at this point, I wanted to cancel, but per their customer service department, I had to cancel through the sales department. Again, more assurances- they literally asked me to "believe them and that the order had indeed shipped" - this in spite of customer service telling me 5 minutes earlier that it hadn't. Sales told me if I cancelled I would be subject to their standard cancellation policy, etc. etc. I clearly wasn't having any part of it because they could not offer one shred of evidence that the items shipped - not a system generated shipping confirmation, not a bill of lading, not a shipping number, not a pro number...nothing! Did I mention that they charged the entire order to our card at the time of the order - not of shipment? I did pay with a credit card and told them specifically that I would contest the entire charge with the credit card company. With all the documentation I had, they knew they wouldn't have a leg to stand on so they did issue the credit to our credit card. This is the absolute worst experience in dealing with an internet company that I have ever had. Short story: Shipping was delayed 3x and my grand opening as well because of it Literally everything on my $6k order had some sort of deficiency or was completely unusable due to extensive damage. Many of the things I ordered didn't come as I ordered and had to be have some sort of additional shipping to rectify minor problems. They blamed it on shipping company who they use and refused to issue any compensation even though both shipping and manufacturer were notified prior to leaving the parking lot. When only 8 were delivered, we were told that if we refused delivery we would be charged a restock fee as well as the return shipping. We were promised that they would work with us on resolving the issue, so we signed for the chairs. Big mistake! We have now been cheated out of the 4 missing chairs. I'm not big on leaving reviews, but after working with their rude representatives (hi, David!) and reporting them to the BBB, I want to help prevent anyone else from giving their hard earned money to this business. They told me to put them back on the pallet and send them a picture and they would have someone pick them up. I emailed the pictures and asked for a refund. After 2 weeks no one had picked them up. There is a reason this company has over 95 reviews and there mostly 1 star. Ordered 6 booths for my restaurant. The color they sent was not even in the same color family as what I ordered. I understand shades may vary but I orders a camel color and got eggshell. They hide behind a clause that when you purchase your agreeing that if the color shade is off it's not there responsibility. I have zero problem with the shade being a littler darker or a little lighter. What I have a problem with is incompetent workers and managers who send the completely wrong color. I ordered new barstools December 27 that I needed for an event Feb 19. I called customer service and asked what the delivery date would be prior to ordering. I was told 2-3 weeks. January 31 I was emailed saying my barstools were discontinued and they gave me options for substitutes. I immediately replied with the option I wanted. I again informed via email that I needed these barstools by Feb 19. He told me no problem, delivery date is Feb 11. I purchases some pretty expensive tables and chairs on their website and then they called me after a couple days and payment went through and said.....oh we need to charge double because the website was wrong on your order. These were some custom tables, so I had agreed. Received the product and they came in completely damaged and missing parts. All the tables edge banding had a gap of about 3/4" scraping the customers as they sat there. The bases were all cracked and had no mounting hardware. They were cracked so bad, they did not sit up straight, they fell over. It has been over 2-1/2 months and they just keep saying that I should wait longer for them to figure it out. One star is giving this company to much credit. My experience has been horrendous and I hope to save many people the experience I am about to share. It was June 30th when I purchased 4 bar stools online for $396 using my bank card (my mistake). It was July 23rd when I received a phone call from the transportation company to set up delivery but I couldn't answer being at work so a message was left. This happened again on the 24th, and then on the morning of the 25th I spoke with a man and he said he would arrive between such and such time on the 26th and I said that will be fine anytime because there is always someone there being a campground. August 20th we had an amount of $132.32 billed to the bank account and so we called and it was for shipping the chairs back. They said they never spoke to anyone even though I went to Verizon and pulled my phone record to prove that we had a 2 minute conversation but they still said/documented no conversation. We have been going back and forth through phone calls and emails, I have asked for documents/phone records as I provided them and got nothing. They tell us we can still get the chairs for an additional shipping cost of 142.38. Or we can return them for 30% restocking fee, giving us 10% off as a sign of goodwill. Needless to say we decided to take the over $200 loss. We looked up there reviews after the fact and that is the reason why we did not get the chairs. They got me again!!! Last year they sent table height table bases when I verbally ordered bar height. It was on me because I missed it on signing the contract. One word difference on contract. I asked for the same ones I ordered a year ago and 2 table tops. They got the table tops right although the stain color didn't match and one was warped. On the invoices THEY sent me the stools on the second invoice didn't match up. The product number was off by one digit and one word. STAY AWAY PAY MORE!! The furniture didn't show up till days later. I had to rent chairs and tables and Affordable Seating would not reimburse for their mistake.
