Two weeks before our move we decided to hire mover's for 3 larger pieces of furniture. Naturally we thought it made sense after talking to moving company to have them supply the truck and we would have ourselves and friends over to do boxes and lighter furniture in the home. Giving us about the need for two hours, and Frank said that was what he thought as well. So we arranged for 6 friends to be at our house to help us with the move and had them come an hour before appointment time to get all of the boxes on to the porch(all of this completed in about 20 to 25 minutes). I also set up for my daughter to be with someone who could watch her so I could help as well. We reached out when we had not heard anything to movers and they said they would be running about 1 hour late that they had ran into an issue. Thinking it would be a great time to feed everyone who was helping to kill the time. After many attempts to get ahold of the company they finally answered us at 15 minutes to the three and half mark late to the appointment that they were almost there. At this point all of the friends who showed up to help us had to leave since we had said 11 to 3 for the moving window. We decided since it didn't take anytime with the group before the worst case scenario is that would take an extra hour with movers and we would be ok. The movers showed up( I had to leave for 30 minutes to feed my daughter since the plan had originally been that I would be done by this time), my husband wound up carrying a good majority of the boxes we had already set out, while the movers moved at turtle space. We had paid for 4 movers thinking this would get twice the work done at the same time. Absolutely not the case, 2 of them stayed on the truck almost the entire time we were moving things. They also took about 20 minutes lowering the gate that any other time took them 3 seconds, while ALL FOUR OF THEM STOOD THERE. At this point I just wanted to be done so we were carrying everything that we could down and trying to make it as easy as possible. One of the movers asked to use the bathroom and then took a 25 minute poop. We(not movers) loaded up a two cars with the tvs and breakables and I headed out to the new house while they were to wrap up the last bit. They had me empty my fridge and freezer so that they could take off the doors and carry it out. Then decided they weren't going to and then scratch and dented up my brand new fridge(maybe 7 months old). My husband finally makes it over and they were right behind and had taken off at same time. Twenty additional minutes later they finally showed up. At this point, I truly want to lose my mind but realizing that doing that will solve nothing I am being kind and help them get backed into our driveway. They ask for payment and now want us to pay for triple amount of time that was originally booked. I call into to speak with Frank. I explain the situation and what had happened. I don't even have time to mention the damages that occur. He then tells me obviously you don't have the money, I am going to have the guys take the stuff back to your old house and put it away. Then hangs up and blocks me. I walk inside and still calm with the workers tell them what he said. Their exact words were they would not being doing that, that what happened was not fair to us. They then stood on the corner of my neighborhood across from the truck that is blocking half the road trying to reach Frank. Who has also blocked them as well. They tell me they do not want to lose their job and that he is telling them to just drive off with my stuff. They refused to leave but also refused to unload the truck for fear of not being paid for the day or having a job the next day. At this point it is almost 9pm. I have a small 8 month old child I need to get to bed, we haven't ate, and my food and breastmilk are all sitting there thawing out. So I go ahead concede to pay it and decide I will go to small claims. Then they empty the entire truck in less than 30 minutes. So the entire work time they did minus the fact that they did it completely slow at my previous home is not even 4 hours. I have paid for 6 and half just to be able to empty the truck. Amazing how when they were ready to go home it took no time to do. I thank the guys and send them on the way. I now have boxes everywhere, no furniture put together, and a very tired baby. Wishing we had just picked up a truck and moved it with our friends and move on. I have recovered more damage done as I sift through my belongings. My husband's wedding band is missing(it is our anniversary as I write this). I realize we should have grabbed it, but amiss the days issues we forgot it in the drawer it was in. Hoping it was dropped out and around and not stolen. All of the employees seemed to be honest people, but I am defeated at this point. Moral of the story is hire professional movers, this company is not. What should have been $600 at absolute most, is tallying at $6000 +. read more

I have hired Affordable Movers for two jobs and and because of the final results, give them my highest recommendation. The first job was moving a very heavy treadmill from our second floor in our home to the basement. Will was very knowledgeable in understanding how the treadmill disassembled including the electronics panel. He and his partner had the treadmill disassembled, moved very carefully, and reassembled in a very short amount of time. It was impressive to see how both of them worked on the project. The second moved was the most impressive. It involved moving five pallets loads of bankers boxes, 150 in all at 50 lbs. each, from the warehouse where I had them stored to the garage in our home about 5 miles away. They had all the bankers boxes loaded onto the moving van, delivered to our home, and unpacked very neatly according to my instructions, in under two hours! Will, who is very personable, was again the lead person on this move. He and Desmond worked quickly and efficiently getting the job done, in what I considered, a record amount of time. Frank, the owner, only wants to do his best for you. His move teams reflected the same great attitude. I have to say, Affordable Movers exceeded my expectations in every way. I scheduled my move over a month out; the communication was clear and friendly and I felt like I knew what to expect. I confirmed a few days before the move and asked questions about payment via text and got a response almost immediately. Daryle and Marcus texted me to let me know they were on their way. They got to work immediately, carrying my belongings down the hall and to the elevator. Moving out from the 7th floor was annoying, I'm sure, but even more obnoxious was the second-floor move in . . . because the elevator, unfortunately, went down immediately. However, the guys didn't show any frustration and simply started carrying my stuff up the steps. They worked diligently, keeping to the budgeted timeframe we had discussed. Hired these fly by night scammers for a move. Supposed to be there at noon rescheduled to 3 o'clock. at 3 texted saying 3:33 then the guy sat outside until 4:30. they brought a 10ft truck after I told them I needed abig truck for two 10x15 storage units. they Do this so they can make more trips and charge you more. Once they have your goods in their truck they will not finish the job until you pay a price much more than agreed upon. Very shady they have (F) rating with BBB and address on file isn't a real address. scammers stay away by all means. also broke a 1700 dresser along with other things and they refuse to make it right. the owner Jeremiah is a punk and telephone tough guy as well. Would leave zero stars but Yelp won't let me. These guys are criminals please don't be fooled. read more

I recommended the company to a friend as they previously completed a task for me (which included some of my possessions being broken). Her appointment was scheduled for 10AM, however she was not informed her appointment would be delayed until 4PM. The movers did not arrive for the job until 8PM, and only included two workers instead of the agreed five. She was also informed she would receive a discount due to the company's error, which did not occur. She attempted to resolve the issue with the company's manager once the job was completed, but was spoken to harshly by their representatives. I do not recommend this company due to their unprofessional tactics and lack of communication of scheduling/other agreed-upon requests. read more

I just hired two moving labors only for my small apt moving. The quote that they offered me is absolutely reasonable and unbeatable. I'm not good at negotiating for prices, so they really saved me a lot of trouble. On the day of moving, they texted me first when they were on the way with the name of the movers, and they showed up on time. When I tried to help open the truck and move stuff, the movers just told me that they would take care of it and I don't have to do anything. They were really nice and worked quickly. We scheduled our movers to come and load and unload our truck. They were set for 1pm. Called and stated they had a morning cancellation, could they come earlier?! Sure!! We were exhausted from getting things partially moved and ready from the day before. Matt & D arrived, ready to go!! They were like Supermen! Got to our new location and unloaded the truck!! They were efficient professional and courteous!! I highly recommend this company to get the job done!! read more

Cheaper than others but isn't worth it , lots of my items were damaged and Frank just give you the run around about taking care of it, but he doesn't and he will stop answering your phone calls.
