I had an appointment for an estimate today between 10:30 - 11:30am for a concrete project at my home in Indiana with Affordable Concrete raising. The experience was profoundly disappointing, extremely unprofessional, and left me questioning the company's respect for people of the black race. When the worker arrived at 11:50am, upon exiting his vehicle, he specifically walked onto my private driveway, looked directly at me--as I was standing in my garage walking towards him to greet him--and proceeded to spit onto my driveway which came across as spitting in my face. I was instantly disguised and offended by such a sickening act. He didn't introduce himself or offer a handshake. When I tried explaining this to a female manager, she became a mocker! Her goal was not to help or try to resolve this situation calming. Instead, she began to wordplay, asking did he speak about race, to defend his disgusting act. She went on intentionally disrespect me by claiming that my religious beliefs were opinions when the Bible says its truth. She was mocking my religion, saying don't throw rocks at a glass house, saying that's a scripture when its not. When she looked up the scripture she said, it says "he who is without sin." She goes on to harass me by bearing false witness lying on me continuing to say that she feels threatened b/c im black, proving she is prejudice also. I asked for a return call from a mgr above her & mockingly said she wld, meaning she's not going to just like she's not going to handle this complaint. He then briefly looked at the job and stated he couldn't do the work. The deliberate act of walking onto private property to spit rather than using the street, coupled with his confrontational demeanor while looking at me, felt deeply disrespectful and discriminatory, like he wanted me to know he didnt want to work with me. If I don't receive a call back by a owner/mgr this co agrees w/prejudice & disrespect. I would not recommend this company to anyone seeking respectful, professional service.

Daniela and Raymond were the first people to understand and support my desire to both repair the house and preserve some of its original charm. I cannot believe the amount of work they were able to get done in just a few months. We originally hired them to do insulation and drywall, but we ended up letting them do the whole house. They finished the entire kitchen, bathrooms, windows, and trim in addition to drywall and insulation--they practically built this house. I cannot recommend them enough. As a woman who met with dozens of contractors, Daniela and Raymond were some of the only people who met me with patience, understanding, and enthusiasm. I had a fairly serious electrical problem that required the replacement of the disconnect at the electric meter. Price looked high to me at first, but in researching the issue, the $2,575 was on the lower side for such work. Still, I decided to get a few more quotes. What a mistake. Of the 12 electricians I contacted only 6 returned my call. Four didn't show up, one told me my entire system was shot and needed to be replaced, and one just played games. I contacted Jay on May 19. He fit me in his busy scheduled for May 20 and 21. It was about an 8 hour job over two days. The work is professional. My disconnect was an old "fuse type" that was badly rusted and a fire hazard. Some wires were hanging unnoticed and could have been an electrocution hazard. Jay handled the project with professionalism, knowledge, and found the right electrician to handle the job. I don't mind paying what is a fair price for an excellent job.

I have mixed feelings about my experience. The job got done and only time will tell of the actual…read morequality and longevity but I'm left with a bit of hesitancy to recommend this company for the following reasons: 1. The initial estimate was done over the phone, and I was surprised that an in-person inspection and full, written estimate wasn't provided upfront detailing the material and labor costs. The cost seemed high at over $87 per linear foot of wood fascia board replacement, but, on short notice, I figured it's worth the promptness and commitment to get the job done by noon of the following day. 2. The job was promised to start at 8:30am, but the workers didn't get there until 1:30pm due to not having the ladder to reach the roof. Also, even with this unforeseen delay and no signed contract, I was asked to provide 50% deposit via Zelle upfront. Fine, things happen, and again the promised availability and full inspection and before-and-after pictures swayed my decision to keep the appointment intact. 3. During the job, I was told that the initial estimate was off by more than 30% and now, the replacement of the damaged fascia boards was going to cost me $143 per foot due to additional materials and carpentry required to mount the boards, soffits and gutters back into place. The materials as I understood were two 8' wood boards and 2 small wood blocks to secure the installation. 4. The job site was not left clean; my wife had to pick up plastic water bottles, nails and a used surgical mask. This is unacceptable. 5. I was never given the proper inspection of the chimney's roof transition with pictures as promised, and the rest of the experience was a mixed bag of suggested repairs and improvements that, frankly, lacked credibility or prior customer referrals. 6. I asked for additional estimates on minor improvements with existing gutter installation but instead was given a full house replacement quotes which were way beyond any reasonable cost.

I had a couple of Companys come to discuss the issue and give me estimates. One company, EVERDRY, was a national chain (a big company) and their solution was to waterproof the whole inside of my basement. The cost was more than what I could afford, $27,000. They said that they did not do small jobs and their recommendation was to address the problem by waterproofing everything. The other company that I had come look at the problem was, CHICAGO'S TOP CONSTRUCTION. They are not a national chain; they are a local company based in Chicago Illinois. Kevin, the owner of the company came out to my house with Fidel his lead worker. They did a thorough survey of the problem and came up with the solution to resolve the specific water leakage issue directly. Along with the waterproofing issue I also had them replace my old worn-down gutters which greatly contributed to the water seepage problems I had. The cost was much more affordable but more than that they wanted to address the specific problem rather than do work that in the end may have been unnecessary. Much of what they pointed out as being the problem of water getting into my home, I already had an idea that it was the issue, so I know they were not making up unnecessary solutions. Kevin and Fidel assured me that they could resolve the problem and outlined how long it would take and exactly how it would be done. It was a two-day job and Kevin and Fidel were excellent communicators at answering questions and keeping me informed. Fidel and the work crew were excellent workers. They arrived on time and completed the work as outlined. Kevin and his whole team are a wonderful group of people to work with and I was happy to have had them take on the project. They certainly have my confidence and backing when it comes to choosing a good company to fix, resolve or undertake any number of construction issues. I would definitely recommend their services and will look to them when considering other home projects in the future.
