I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Affordable Car Care during my visit today. Earlier this week, I brought in my Honda Accord LX for a preventative maintenance check because I was recently offered an electrician helper job that will have me traveling all over southeast Wisconsin. I needed to make sure my car was reliable. To my surprise, they discovered my catalytic converter was missing and replaced with just a metal tube. I also needed a nearby frame section replaced because it was damaged and causing a leak. Today, I completely forgot to drop the car off in the morning like we originally planned. I called them around 1:30 PM to explain the situation, and Tim -- truly a miracle worker -- still told me to bring it in. They got the catalytic converter installed and the issue resolved, and I had my car back by around 3 PM the same day. I even offered to pay extra on top of the initial estimate since it was my fault for missing the appointment, but Tim refused and said he was just happy to help me out on this, especially because I just landed a job as an electrician helper. We were stranded right in front of this place,he came out and took a look and will look at it further,they gave us a ride home which was nice,hope this place is fair and honest!, after waiting for a few days they needed to replace transmission coolant lines which I thought was a bit long plus poor communication between us, it turned out to be a bit of a frustrating job and it could of went smoother,but their nice guys,they try and help anyway they can,im just not sure what to make of the whole situation,there was a lack of communication and job detail involved on the paper work unfortunately. went here for suspension repair and they found my oil pan needed to be replace. quote for the oil pan replacement was $1,000 because of the 4x4 and needing to lift the engine to get the oil pan replaced. I agreed to the price, and when I picked up my truck I had an ABS code light on and an exhaust manifold leak. took the truck back and they fixed the ABS issue. Tim claimed that he didn't need to lift the engine for the oil pan replacement so he didn't touch the exhaust manifold bolts... ask him then why did you charge me $1k? "my mechanic found a different way, sometimes I win some and sometimes I lose some" was his answer..... further more after breaking the manifold bolt(s) " I don't want to tie up a mechanic to drill out a broken bolt(s)". he rather screw multiple customers in a shift vs just one. find a different mechanic to go too!!! read more

Love this local place for a quick car repair. My tires were leaking air and they were able to quickly patch up the places where two screws were stuck and help me get back to work in record time! They are beyond awesome! I visited this shop back in November due to some issues I was having with my car overheating. My car was misdiagnosed by 2 other repair shops, I called Jeff for a 3rd opinion as I felt I was being taken advantage of (young female). Jeff assured me that the problem was not a blown head gasket as previously diagnosed, just an issue with my coolant housing. They towed my car and repaired it for little to nothing! We recently had our vehicle fixed here and are glad we've found our "new" mechanic! We've had issues with our car continually having the same error codes and check engine light, and have had it in to 3 other places to try and permanently fix it. We brought it here and were happy to not only have found someone that is a true car guy and looks for more than just codes (so that the problem actually got fixed), but has awesome customer service and great prices to boot. Extra bonus that you can get your car tested for emissions here so was able to do that right away as well. Definitely a place that we will recommend! read more

This place- yes this place- save me $1700. I first went to another five-star yelp rated repair shop closer to home to check on getting a rattling heat shield removed from my Subaru. The person who looked at it thought that they could take it off but the manager at this five star rated shop (Oscar) in Greenfield (Milwaukee Engine and Transmission Exchange) shushed him and said No! it is impossible to remove these and he printed off the specifications for my car and said they are impossible to change and I would have to pay $1775 take off everything and get new catalytic converter etc. etc. etc. Luckily I went to this wonderful Firestone Affordable Car Repair near my work place for a second opinion and they were indeed able to remove the heat shield for $75. YES !! $1700 saved because they were honest and didn't try to gauge me. Everyone at my office swears by this place! I wish I would've known about them sooner! I've used these guys now five times and they've been nothing less than excellent. I have several years experience in the automotive industry and when I go to a shop for the first time I like to act like a mechanical dummy. I just sit back and I am first hand witness to the "rip off game". Once I let them know that I'm aware they are ripping me off and full of s@&t, I then like to inform them that I'll make sure everyone I know is aware of their shananagins. ACC is 100% above board. If anything they go out of their way to make sure that they are trying hard to save me every penny they can. I have had several major repairs done and the work has been excellent. They do little things like replace small service items like clips, nuts, bolts, fuses etc. free of charge. They will have all the work for both my vehicles.
