*Edit: I originally left a one-star based on my experience described below, but Rick had been out…read moreof cell phone coverage and hadn't received my voice message and text which is why he hadn't responded to them. He committed to call me on Tuesday when he got back into town, and he did. We talked through the issue, and I am confident that he takes care of his customer and that the job was done well. He took ownership of the problem and never once tried to place blame on me or make me feel like I was over reacting (even though I probably was). Review of the work? My drying time has been reduced by more than half with some loads. I am amazed at what a difference it has made. I will be calling well before another 13 years passes so that I don't get to that point again.
(Original review): I called on Monday evening (1/6) to schedule a dryer vent cleaning. Rick scheduled me for 12:30 the following Friday. He asked if 12:00 would be ok. I told him I didn't get off work until 12:00. He said, "Ok, 12:30?" Perfect.
Friday comes, and I got off at 12:05. I checked my phone to see that his crew had been calling me for 15 minutes because they were at my house for my 12:00 appointment. I called the guy and told him my appointment wasn't until 12:30, and he was all concerned about his next appointment in West Des Moines at 1:00 that will take him 25 minutes to get to. So, I told him I could be home in 5 minutes but that still wouldn't give him enough time if he had to leave by 12:35. He told me if I could get right home they'd get set up and could be done by the time they needed to leave to get to their 1:00 appointment. So, I rushed home, and he was just finishing up as I got here. I asked if he needed to come inside to get to this side of the vent because it's pretty long (has to go up over a bathroom to get to the outside). He said no. I'm not convinced he did a thorough job because he was really in a hurry. I'm not sure why the next appointment was more important than mine.
I called Rick and left a message. I didn't hear from him. So, I texted him telling him I had expected to hear from him. I have had absolutely no response from him.I called on Monday evening (1/6) to schedule a dryer vent cleaning. Rick scheduled me for 12:30 the following Friday. He asked if 12:00 would be ok.
