Warm and friendly cafe in the heart of St John's that makes a damn good latte and makes you feel like family. Outdoor seating or indoors with a selection of choice baked goods to pair with your beverage.

We were in town for vacation, and I dint had my caffeine from morning, this place was near where we were staying so stopped by, and I loved it. got the cappuccino, asked the guy behind the counter if I can order more than 8oz, he replied usually it's 8oz but he can make a little more and he made it and when I took that first sip, OMG! It was so good and perfect, Good customer service too. Definitely recommend this place.

vegan Coconut Stracciatella in a waffle cone!

Stopped by this little shop when it all of a sudden started raining in June. It literally only had this one super nice lady running the whole thing. Affogato is this coffee dessert where you have gelato in expresso. They also have gelato, I had the vegan Coconut Stracciatella, and it was so good, especially in their waffle cone! The waffle cone was like somehow soft but crunchy at the same time, it like melted/broke down in my mouth and it was so good. I think it was about $5 (which is like kind of splurging for a dessert, but it was great on this nice day). The inside is super humble, a set of bar stools on a counter against the back wall. Nice benches outside too if it's not raining. I felt bad for this lady because 5 minutes before closing time a bunch of people lined up and she had to take everything out again, but she had such a good attitude about it.

It was super hot today, so as I walked to the library for lunch, gelato called my name. I got the Oregon Raspberry which was very raspberry. The texture was creamy, and the gelato was sweet. I could have probably used slightly more tartness, but it is gelato not sorbet. I look forward to trying other flavors in the future!

Omg this is the best freaking coffee spot ever!!!! I'm so glad I came here on the recommendation of a far-out lyft driver. He said he drove 30 minutes to get the chai latte here. It's sooo damn good! So I learned that the owner of the coffee shop hand makes the ice cream, chai, and other ingredients at Affogato. All the coffee beans are from family owned coffee plantations, making the coffee fresh and cheap. I tried the affogato with coconut straciatella gelato and it was so perfectly balanced. The deep warm espresso blanketed the cool mound of coconut chocolate gelato for a wonderfully balanced flavor! The chai latte was a beautiful orchestra of ginger, hemp milk, light spice blend for a balanced taste. Usually chai lattes are overlooked in hardcore coffee shops but the attention to detail in the chai here just speaks love. I never had a Borgia before so I got one to go - wowww. So this is an espresso drink made with hot chocolate and fresh orange, which is exactly what the barista did. It was a lovely blend of chocolate, coffee, and tart orange in liquid form. This was even more delectable than eating orange liquor chocolates on Christmas. Yummy!!! Affogato is truly a gem and worth a visit! I would definitely be back.

The Affogato! Vanilla gelato in espresso!

Only been here once, really good! 4 stars as we didn't try much. The gelato was really good and made in house. The affogato I had was a really rich espresso over vanilla gelato. Was really good after the gelato melted a bit. If we lived nearby I'd frequent often I'm sure.

Affogato is a lovely go-to dessert spot if you're wandering around our lovely St. John's neighborhood. Went in the other night, post-meal and came back happy. Some notables: They rotate flavors and always have at least one vegan option. All the flavors are full-bodied and interesting. Ask for samples! They're happy to have to try things! Go for the whipped cream and/or a sauce on top of your scoops. They make all of that in house! The rains are coming soon (now-ish), but really, is it ever a bad time for iced joy?

This is a small coffee with gelato shop where everyone just comes in and hang out. This place has a good vibe and the staff is very friendly. Delicious gelato combined with good coffee makes this place a perfect place just to sit and chill. I'm surprised that they are actually very generous with their coffee, couldn't believe they give you 12 oz of latte for just 3.50! That's just simply amazing.

We came here after a hike in Forest park. It was a decent place that defiantly got the job done (cool us down and caffeine!) but I would not say this place was good. It was okay-ish. The espresso in the Affogato was very bitter and burnt tasting. We choose this place because it was close by the St. John's bridge and Cathedral Park.

We had a few sun breaks throughout the day, which basically means it's summer, right? Oh, who am I kidding... I'll use any excuse I can to get gelato. I was craving a cone, and found Affogato wasn't to far from home. I am so glad I stopped in! While they only had three flavors of gelato to choose from, the chocolate and coconut stracciatella are now my new favorite combo. Not to mention, the waffle cone itself was something I wish I could eat on a daily basis! So good! The girl working the counter was also super awesome. She understood my request of putting the chocolate on the bottom because planning which scoop you get to eat with the cone is a very big deal! Loved how chill she was - it made the visit that much better!

An affogato is a coffee-based beverage. An Affogato Gelato is a friendly little coffee and gelato shop that just opened in St. Johns. Nate makes a great espresso from the Equator Coffee roasted by his uncle in Eugene. The espresso that I tried was great with a dark roasted chocolate and fruity flavor. I am looking forward to going back for more. You can even buy a bag of the roasted beans for $8. I assume that giveaway price will go up soon. The Habanero Peach Gelato that I tried was out of this world and just the right amount of heat. All of their gelato is made on site in small batches with local ingredients. When in St. Johns, stop by here. It is worth the trip.

Indoors at Affogato (on a sunny Saturday yet) for Salted Caramel gelato ... heavenly!

As someone who used to work in an ice cream shop, I have very high standards for what is served to the customer - the scoop sizes we received were noticeably inconsistent when compared to past visits & in my opinion, if a scoop doesn't at least appear to fill the cup, either smaller cups are needed or scoopers should be trained to not have their scoops be so compact. One of the scoops in the double mini we ordered was literally 1/3 the size of the other, cost more than the regular scoop but had less ice cream. The regular scoop was compressed into such a tight, dense ball, it was rolling around my cup like a marble on the drive home. We couldn't help but laugh when we looked in our cups because the portions we had just paid for were comical. For prices that are set at a premium, I want to feel like I'm getting my money's worth and don't like walking out of an establishment feeling ripped off.
