Ben our cat was not feeling good since Thursday. We attempted to get him into his vet, but they were closed Friday. We took Ben to this ER on Sunday. We were promptly greeted by a kind and professional young woman. She gathered all info needed and had us fill out info (address, pets info as well). During this time two urgent situations occurred. Two different family's with dogs that were needing treatment asap. We had no problem waiting. It's an ER and sometimes these things happen. Please note Ben, was taken back fairly quickly. Going into this we thought he may have a UTI, but we were not entirely sure. We knew Ben's actions were not the norm. We had a conversation with the Doctor and she gave suggestions with options. We went ahead and got him throughly checked over (blood work and exrays ect.). Results - UTI, meds, and food diet change prescription. I thank Dr.Cassandra Van Nieuwal for saving our boys life. She was kind and caring. Sunday was a very busy day in that ER. I prayed for everyone's animals as well as our boy. I am thankful for this ER and their professionalism. At a different veterinary - last year our boy Levi was not diagnosed properly (nor attempted to be diagnosed) and in a matter of days he deteriorated. We brought him to this ER. They did what they could. But, unfortunately, due to the lack of diagnosis from a loval vetinary office and staff on Nova, our boy Levi didn't stand a chance. Subsequently, I am thankfully that Levi is no longer in pain and we got to say our goodbyes (very heartbreaking). Lastly, I am thankful for the Animal Hospital ER because without it our boy Ben might not have made it. God Bless you and thank you.

My parents took them in to…read morestart the treatment and the nurse Lisa was sooooo helpful and kind with the whole process. I drove straight from the airport as soon as I got home and I was told by Lisa that I could come in anytime to see my cat to boost his spirits. I was waiting in a room for over an hour and was told I couldn't see my cat until a doctor came in and spoke with me, despite what Lisa had said in the past. Another nurse kept coming in and out just trying to talk money and financial plans and credit cards I could open up to help pay for the treatment. She was extremely insensitive to the fact that I just wanted to see my sick cat. I finally got to see him and discussed with Dr. Long that she hopes to see improvements the next day. The next day comes and Dr. Long goes on a spiel on how she thinks he's improved and is walking around in his cage and drinking water. I was so excited and ready to pay for another treatment right there. Luckily, My mom told me to see him before I pay for anything else. When they took me back to see him, he could barely open his eyes and hold his head up or even stand. I really would've appreciated HONESTY from the staff on his stability and chances of actually getting better. Again, THE NURSE LISA, was very kind, let me have time with my cat in a private room and was very honest with us about his recovery. Overall just wish there was more compassion and transparency with the whole process. It was really disappointing having my hopes up that my cat was getting better but In reality he looked worse than when he came in. And I did not appreciate the money hungry nurse trying to get more money out of me when I hadn't even seen my cat since he's been sick.

Prayers for our little Oliver. We took him to Veterinary Emergency Center of East Volusia (VECEV)…read moreMonday afternoon. He has possibly a large stone in his urethra blocking his bladder. Dr. Long was able to move the stone by catheter into Oliver's bladder Monday night and he will have surgery to remove it later today. He's around 8 years old, but he's just a 7 lb. baby. We're thankful for the care he is receiving Update: Dr. Long from #VeterinaryEmergencyCenterofEastVolusia (VECEV) just called to say she had finished surgery on Oliver at 4:30 am. It was not a stone, but a BB or a pellet that he was shot with a long time ago. We adopted him June 5, 2020, following his rescue from a puppy mill. He has never been sick or shown any signs of pain. Dr. Long said she had never seen anything like it and asked our permission to complete a research protocol to write a Clinical Research Report. He will need approximately 2 weeks to recover and we can, hopefully, pick him up later today or tonight. We are so thankful to Dr. Long and the entire staff at #VECEV for taking such special care of our sweet Oliver! Calling us to give reports and graciously taking our calls to check on Oliver meant so very much to us.

I figured maybe she had a slipped disc or a pinched nerve, but I brought her in anyway. They rushed her back for evaluation and it turns out she had a mass on her spleen that burst, which, in turn, caused her spleen to rupture. She was hemorrhaging and the situation was pretty critical. The way that this team of professionals sprang to action, walked us through everything that was happening while stabilizing her, and rushed her to surgery and managed this complex case afterward was nothing short of heroic. Beyond that, the tools they have rival human grade trauma centers. The staff went above and beyond in every respect. If your pet is ever experiencing a medical emergency, you're in great hands here. 15/10, thank you!!!!
